Daggo Abouna drake's views was shit,21 pilot's album was okay, sia's album was worse than her last one.I have heard and listen to the same people as you plus the 80's and 90's stuff.Your wrong about views,21 pilots and sia's album
Well, I was quite disapointed about Sia's Last album but the others are really great in my opinion. I discovered 21 Pilots' Vessel before Blurryface and I think this is one of album I've enjoyed the most. Views may not be the greatest but I really enjoyed some of the songs.
I was walking in Midtown Manhattan yesterday during the evening rush hour. It was raining and cold but not dark yet. The clouds were covering the top of taller buildings. The streets were full of people. I was listening to this. It was perfect…
To me this is the perfect song. I know music is subjective, possibly the most subjective of all mediums, but there is something about this song I cannot fault. The way the production builds, the ambiguity but originality of the lyrics, the emotions it evokes... And THAT ending. Perfect way to close a song like this. The final lines of the song and the closing notes. UHHH. You can listen to it in any mood and still be floored everytime. A masterpiece.
I agree 10000%. It’s been in my top played songs on Spotify every year since it came out. No matter what mood I’m in, I can’t keep myself from constantly revisiting this song. It gives me goosebumps every time. The multi layered production, build and emotional payoff creates such a powerful climax; it’s almost cinematic. It’s hard to find in similar songs in the same genres let alone elsewhere. I think it’s up there with some of the best. I’d call it a perfect song. Everything works together to create not just nostalgia but that UMPHF factor I can’t put into words😩. An Indie x House Masterpiece. Seeing it live was one of the most euphoric experiences I’ve had
There are more ways than for a song to be perfect. Like you said, it's not about being "better" than other songs, but about having no room left for improvement
I listened to it at least 10 times on repeat just so I could feel the pain it invoked. Eventually the feeling of sadness just felt normal, then hopeful.
I've checked out some websites and some have "heights" and others have "eyes". So I don't really know because I'm not a native English speaker, haha. Hope someone can answers us. :)
"Romy and I grew up skateboarding together. It was such a big part of our friendship, even before we started playing music. We would spend every weekend from early in the morning till late at night, skating and exploring the streets of London. We wanted the video for Loud Places to show us skating and going to the places we used to go to. xx Jamie xx" Impossible to not love these two legends. And not to forget Oliver Sim.
My last day of secondary school was Tuesday last week. I spent about an hour listening to this crying over how Ill never see 80% of the people Ive known for years again. This song just has that nostalgic "end of an era in your life" feeling, and it certainly is for me
I'm about to turn 38 but I distinctly remember that weird stage of being 18 and the impending big wide world in front of you as you leave school for the very last time.. to a life of bills, mortgages, relationships, loss, work..
Proud to say Simon, who directed this, is a good friend. Guy is so talented, and is 100% going to be a huge Director one day. Of course, also goes w/o saying that Jamie and Romy killed it, too.
I always come back at this too. God... This makes me remember the person I was two years ago and the dreams that I used to live for but now are vanishing, but more importantly, how much stronger I have to be now in orden to accomplish them and not let the flame of my spirit die. Thanks, Jamie!
I can‘t believe this song is seven years old. I remember when I first heard it in 2016, it was such an amazing time back then. This song is pure nostalgia. But it‘s still one of my favorite songs till today. I wish I could get this time back once more, to me it seems like it‘s maybe just three years since then.
Still one of my fave songs to come from these wonderful people. I saw them live in New Orleans back in 2017… hearing this song live sent me to the skies. 🔥❤️

That's not necessarily true. The effect of MDMA (like most, if not all other substances) is individual and depends also on the person's current state of mind...
This song is a masterpiece. True work of art just brilliant and been listening to it and loving for years now. The clip is so beautiful and serene as well.
A it happens I was able to watch the band make the video for "Chained" from Coexist in our local outdoor swimming pool in Penzance Cornwall in the UK back in August 2012 !
This song reminds me of an ex I was seeing when this album dropped. Perfectly mournful and longing. A completely beautiful piece of art, the video and song.
I'm not really sure why I like this song so much. I've never been the biggest fan of electronic dance music, but something about this song is just so beautiful.
This girl has,I'd expect a huge carer ahead of her.she really dose have a voice of an angel. Third song ive heard by her today and end up in years. Increadable. ❤😊👏👏
I miss it so much being a young adult in 2015 and the 2010s in general. It was such a different time that's never coming back. But this song takes me straight back to it.
This song has a powerful effect on me. It took me right down to the depths during a really tough time but also brought me back up. A truly haunting song. You have to love to love it.

I just love this song. It makes me feel and think so introspectively about my past, present, and for some reason future. I will always come back to it!
Con el estilo de Jamie xx y la voz unica de Romy, han creado una maravilla auditiva, desde que la escuche me transportó a vivencias pasadas, me hizo sentir una nostalgia, simplemente genial.
This song hits me 🎯 After watching the movie “The Greatest Hits” ❤ How I wish? Music is like a “Time Machine”. I wanna go back to my High School days 😊
This song brings back memories I would love to relive. I’m reminded that I can’t and in return gives me this eternal sadness. This song is incredible how it borders beauty and tragedy. Something so personal about it. I feel like I’ve fallen in love to this song, I also feel like I’ve gotten my heart eternally broken to this song.

CHEBLT peaked @ #68 on the Billboard Soul chart & @ #76 on the Billboard Pop chart
originally the lyrics were recorded as:
"I have never reached such heights /I feel music in your eyes/ could heaven ever be like this"
Jamie xx used the first 2 lines but not the third "CHEBLT" title line in his sample: "I have never reached such heights/ I feel music in your eyes/ I have never reached such heights"
Lovely sample.

They sampled this track in Chrome Sparks - Marijuana as well

A bit moronic...It samples Could Heaven Ever Be Like This by Idris Muhammad from 1977

Same! So weird!
This is one of those songs that you don't only listen, you feel it. It's strange but it's
the most beautiful feeling.
that is the essence of music yes.
Concordo. Amo essa música
Likely because it is written in a minor key and with a shifting bottom end and big chords. Oh, and it's a good tune 😋
Me pasa exactamente lo mismo 🪐🌟💛
Jamie and Romy go together perfectly. They should totally form a band or something
Are you kidding me....
Elle Quin It's a joke, lol
Didn't you make the video for Marijuana by Chrome Sparks?
just add an Oliver and they're in business! ;)
***** LOL :D
This is such a beautiful song. Musical harmony.
The last line was a shock. Made me suddenly relate to the whole song. "When you come down, I won't be around..."
Infectious. And people think that modern music is rubbish? Wrong.
Using a 1970's sample?
there's always one in a million that's good (the rest are rubbish)
Keep searching and you'll find extremely good songs that came out the last 5-10 years

Lyrics
I go to loud places
To search for someone
To be quiet with
Who will take me home
You go to loud places
To find someone who
Will take you higher than
I took you
Didn't I take you to higher places you can't reach without me?
(I have never reached such heights) Reach without me
(I feel music in your eyes
I have never reached such heights)
I go to those places
Where we used to go
They seem so quiet now
I'm here, all alone
You go to new places
With I don't know who
And I don't know how
To follow you
Higher
I take you higher and I’ll take you
Didn’t I take you higher?
I take you higher
I take you higher and I take you
Didn’t I take you higher?
I take you
Didn't I take you to higher places you can't reach without me?
(I have never reached such heights) Reach without me
(I feel music in your eyes
I have never reached such heights)
I feel music in your eyes
I have never reached such heights
I feel music in your eyes
I have never reached such heights
You're in ecstasy without me

+1658iain thanks buddy. I'll go check the artists you mentioned. Now about your age, you're pretty cool for someone who's pushing 60. Have a great weekend.
+RJ Brennisteinn Thanks for pointing out the sample. It was driving me mad. I knew it, but where it was from stumped me.
i was looking for this comment, i kept trying to remember what the song was called. Thanks a lot!
This just reminds me of all the good times growing up in the UK. Makes me proud to be British. Something that's becoming increasingly difficult .
This song to me encapsulates what is good about London, England and the UK. We moan a lot but this is a great part of the world to live in.
Almost December 2023, and here I am, enjoying once again this song I used to listen to a lot in the past 5-6 years...
This is the best piece of music I have ever heard. Absolute bliss. It is an inspiration to love.
I will never tire of listening to this beautiful, emotive track ♥️
This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard
This song is very effective when ur about to encounter a new feeling... like going an adventure or going to the city.
I go to loud places
To search for someone
To be quiet with
Who will take me home
You go to loud places
To find someone who
Will take you higher than
I took you
Didn't I take you to higher places you can't reach without me?
(I have never reached such heights) Reach without me
(I feel music in your eyes
I have never reached such heights)
I go to those places
Where we used to go
They seem so quiet now
I'm here, all alone
You go to new places
With I don't know who
And I don't know how
To follow you
Higher
I take you higher and I’ll take you
Didn’t I take you higher?
I take you higher
I take you higher and I take you
Didn’t I take you higher?
I take you
Didn't I take you to higher places you can't reach without me?
(I have never reached such heights) Reach without me
(I feel music in your eyes
I have never reached such heights)
I feel music in your eyes
I have never reached such heights
I feel music in your eyes
I have never reached such heights
You're in ecstasy without me
When you come down
I won't be around
+El Corazon de Los Libros wow. these lyrics.

when I tell you I've been trying to find this song again for months. I'm so glad I'm here
I just love this song.
Every single song by Jamie xx is such a vibe.....it's timeless
i didn’t think of this song as anything to me many years ago but it played in my head and i realized how nostalgic it is
Romy's voice is like dreaming of angels.
Great song. Has that summer feel to it.
