Summoner and Summoner 2 (aka the Goddess Reborn) are connected, and share some characters as well. They are amazing games. And they are, in fact, made by another familiar company, not known for their RPGs somewhat. Volition.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is one of my favorite games from that era! If you like mythical weird WWII you'll love it Matty. Also the PS2 and Xbox variants of that game each have a few levels specific to each port so keep an eye out for the PS2 version for your collection if you don't already have it 😁
Summoner was a great game. It's stuck with me to the point that I still think about it regularly. The music still randomly pops into my head. It was made by Volition.
Summoner was the only game i was able to get with my PS2 on launch day since every other game was sold out by the time i got there, needless to say i played the hell out of it. Some of my best PS2 memories.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein was a great game. The MP on Xbox live was great with a class system and the campaign was fun as it is two player co-op. I remember beating it with my cousin I lived with at the time!
Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil was actually a expansion to the original game. They ported it to Xbox because they also ported the original game and to beef up the package, they included the classic Doom games. In fact, the collector's edition for the Doom 3 Xbox port also had the classic Doom games included.
Yeah and right at the beginning of the game/expansion they introduce a new gun which is essentially the gravity gun from Half-Life 2. HL2 released around the same time as Doom 3. They must have been inspired. RoE throws you right into the action. You would not want to play it before playing Doom 3.
Good to see a jewel case that once was so familiar to me once again. (And yes, for those of you born after 1995, CDs, DvDs, and games once came in jewel cases and that was the correct name for them, lol.)
More of a strategy rpg. Should have mentioned that. Kind of a hard game but the world building is cool. It’s ww2 with vampires and zombies with atlus jrpg
Good haul man! Return to Castle Wolfenstein has a special place in my heart. When I was a young teen I would go over to my Uncles to play it online and had an absolute blast with it.
I loved master blaster as a kid on the NES. I even read the novel. It was good also, lol. I had no idea there were sequels. I'll have to check those out
I remember playing Summoner 2 as a kid but I had no idea what I was doing. There was a quest where you gotta find parts to put someone together and I just ran around making no progress
Dang I missed ya at PAX! I picked up Night In The Woods and Arzette from LRG and then I grabbed the physical Castle Crashers from behemoth. I told myself I’d only buy retro if I found a few very specific games I was looking for but no dice there. I was really excited for the VGNY booth since I’ve been to that store a few times and it’s incredible but I was shocked at how many games they had that I had never heard of.
Good finds. I hope you find and do a review of Freedom Fighters. My stepbrother had an OG Xbox. I beat Freedom Fighters there. It was a cool game. Good story for the time. I loved how you could command individual soldiers under you. I would set up traps for my brothers in capture the flag.
I loved project sylpheed as a kid. The story was cool the graphics were great for the time and it had a nice progression for upgrades which carried over to new playthroughs so you could be overpowered and change the outcome for certain missions (to a small extent). I was always disappointed that a port never made its way to PC lol
You should play the Summoner games and make a video. Both are great but for different reasons. 1st can take a while to get used to and is a little bland visually but story is fantastic. 2nd is more colourful and sharper. Both have humorous parts as well.
Ya, I never been into buying retro games. But a friend and me found a local game store, we have went there about 3 times and we have spend about $90-$120 each time. lol They have so much stuff I been wanting to play and try out. I ended up getting all together: Otogi CIB (xbox) Otogi 2 CIB (xbox) Blue dragon CIB (360) Enchanted arms CIB (360) Tenchu Z CIB (360) Odin sphere L. CIB (Ps4) Rare Replay/Gears Ultimate (X1) New Uncharted 4 special edition/delux edition.CIB Valkyria Revolution CIB MHW Iceborn edition New
13:36 yeah that game is not BC. Never heard of it and I've collected all the disc backwards compatible games to Series X. Interested if it's any good though.
I own Bard's Tale for PS2. It has a slow start which I know put some people off the game. but if you just stick with it, it gets better and more fun and interesting after the "Tutorial" village. I played it for the first time last year and had a blast:D
Just curious, roughly how many independent retro stores were at PAX East? Pre pandemic the number was always 1-3; I wonder if fewer publishers & a smaller WOTC presence led to a larger amount of stores selling? Also PAX West 2019 the only retro store at that convention was Pink Gorilla, but they have a stranglehold on the retro game scene in Seattle.
Oh nice Resurrection of Evil is killer. I bought Doom 3 for the OG Xbox from a guy on a total random and it came in stellar condition and complete with manual and everything it's awesome
Yooo!!! I bought State of Emergency day it came out. I haven't played it since that era. One of those Rockstar games that's missing from storefronts. I liked it more then Manhunt which was same timeframe.
State of Emergency cost me $40 on Xbox for a near mint copy. So $10 is a steal mate . Xbox games are expensive in OZ for some titles now though. I did manage to just get FFXVI new for almost 50 percent off on Amazon though with free delivery .
While I enjoy the videos, I think GameStop has been done to death. I would love to see more openings from other companies like DK Oldies or some of those Amazon mystery boxes.
Most gaming journalism nowadays is not worth listening to if you want proper gaming news just go to freaking TH-cam and don’t trust really any main stream new sites

I learn about so many games I missed with your channel. Thanks keep it coming with the oldies.

Hey I was the guy who works at game giant who recognized you. Was really cool to meet you and get to talk to you for a couple of minutes.

You do realize people still buy CDs in jewel cases, right?
There is a ww2 jrpg Xbox 360 exclusive called operation darkness. Kinda pricey but worth checking out. Made by atlus too
More of a strategy rpg. Should have mentioned that. Kind of a hard game but the world building is cool. It’s ww2 with vampires and zombies with atlus jrpg
I’m sure it’s just the camera or the angle, but the Xbox games on the shelf behind you look huge lol
Longbox XBOX games.
Good haul man! Return to Castle Wolfenstein has a special place in my heart. When I was a young teen I would go over to my Uncles to play it online and had an absolute blast with it.
Love Videogamesnewyork!! One of my favorite stores to visit anytime I’m in NYC!!
I loved master blaster as a kid on the NES. I even read the novel. It was good also, lol. I had no idea there were sequels. I'll have to check those out
I have both the Summoner games. I absolutely love them
sylpheed is a pc-88 series and is a game arts franchise who made Grandia and Lunar
A Bard's Tale is a lot of fun! It has humor that we don't get anymore, I loved it. Give it a go!
Return to castle wolfenstien is so weird in a good way I remember being completely addicted to playing that game on the og Xbox
I remember playing Summoner 2 as a kid but I had no idea what I was doing. There was a quest where you gotta find parts to put someone together and I just ran around making no progress

Building up that good old collection is fun doing when you don't have much duds
Good finds.

I love when my favorite TH-camrs are friends with other favorite TH-camrs of mine ❤. Love gameranx/jake baldino and Matty!
Return to wolfenstein.....ah the memories. If I recall you can unlock wolfenstein 3d beating the campaign. Double win
You should play the Summoner games and make a video. Both are great but for different reasons. 1st can take a while to get used to and is a little bland visually but story is fantastic. 2nd is more colourful and sharper. Both have humorous parts as well.
If you like golf games you have to try Golf Story... a very good and funny golf RPG!
aye i’m in the boston area this was the first year i didn’t go to pax! glad it was a good time

Worlds scariest police chases on ps1 was one of my favorites

I would love to see a video on all the WWII video games you have played and collected over the years!
12:31 This is meme material right here

April fools… but the fool was the uploader 💀
Always wanted to visit video games new york , they often have games earlier then street releases
Oh nice Resurrection of Evil is killer. I bought Doom 3 for the OG Xbox from a guy on a total random and it came in stellar condition and complete with manual and everything it's awesome
State of Emergency is a fun arcadey type game. They also made a part 2 i believe.
I love your sweater
Yooo!!! I bought State of Emergency day it came out. I haven't played it since that era. One of those Rockstar games that's missing from storefronts. I liked it more then Manhunt which was same timeframe.
Oh wow don’t think I even heard of Various Daylife, gotta look into that.
Loved State of Emergency! I had it on PS2 back in the day. Great content Matty
Summoner is worth it solely for the bonus video on the disc.
Best Easter Egg on the system
Glad to heart that inti creates is making a battle network like game. Would love to hear your thoughts on gigantics re-release in a few days
@3:12 Mega man battle network 🙌 is that 3?
Battle network is one of the best video game series of all time
I think Bard’s Tale 1-4 are all available on ps and Xbox current systems.
I have one problem with Brain Age, the only times I've lost DSs, they had Brain Age in them. I do not want to touch it again.
BLASTER MASTER ZERO IS A MASTERPIECE!! (The 3 games)
State of Emergency cost me $40 on Xbox for a near mint copy. So $10 is a steal mate . Xbox games are expensive in OZ for some titles now though. I did manage to just get FFXVI new for almost 50 percent off on Amazon though with free delivery .
I usto love state of Emergency great game and I bet you'll dig it
I just bought an Xbox 360 last month.
Now I'm obsessed with collecting for it. Games are dirt cheap.
Still collecting for my other consoles though.
I just dug mine out & was playing around with it what games u pick up?
@@notcrona Having never owned an Xbox before, I had to pick up games like Gears of War and Halo. Picked up a handful of other games as well.
U didn't answer the question.
@@gregkareem9824 Because I picked up like 18 games. I didn't want to list them all.
I bought Summoner 1&2 and Digital Devil Saga 1&2 at the same store.
I also picked up doom 3 but with the steelbook
Got lucky enough to find smt digital devil saga 1-2 at my local game shop recently
How is Summoner JRPG when it is developed in the west?
Brain age 2 actually slaps
Hour of Victory was considered one of the worst 360 games, i think it was a launch title too lol budget CoD off of wish
@12:32 "huuuuhhh?!?!"
I had no idea there were other Blaster Master games. I thought the original NES game was it.
Another great video by retro rebound
Bro state of emergency I grew up playing it’s fucking awesome
How does one join one of your discord servers?
While I enjoy the videos, I think GameStop has been done to death. I would love to see more openings from other companies like DK Oldies or some of those Amazon mystery boxes.
Please make a update review of the analog pocket
Where does one get an analog pocket?
Matty is a fan of WW2 and not early modern period? You broke my heart 💔😿
did you get them all in 1 day and the same place
What is that xbox 360 case thar says series x lol. Is that official? Ive seen the xbox one cases of xb360 games but never that one
Enjoy State of Emergency, its a moment in time that we will never get from Rockstar again
Good day, sir! 👋🏽😜
You the man matty
Hey man can you start adding like markings in your videos for sponsors next time?
I LIKE YOUR VIDEOS ARE FUN
Yo I played hella Brain Age on my DS Lite back in the day! Didn’t have too many games at the time so I took what I could get 😂
Awesome pickups Matty!
Who the heck is Matty?
U didn't answer the question.
Doom 3 ROE is not a re release.... it is a different game than Doom 3.

Most gaming journalism nowadays is not worth listening to if you want proper gaming news just go to freaking TH-cam and don’t trust really any main stream new sites
Various day life isn't good, any other hd2d is better
April Fools on hour of victory. Horrible
Actually pax east was terrible. It gets worse and worse every year.
❤😊😊😊
All the obscure Xbox games you showcase just makes me believe that Xbox has no clue who their audience is 😅
