The “hack” with the barbie doll is called “rerooting” and it is a painfully long process. Sometimes it takes hours to do.
I did it once and it took me a week. About an hour per day. 😤

It isn't on a key ring, the key is one solid piece & it also isn't taped. I think it is likely one of two things. One possibility is it is a pair of glasses that has a bridge that can be separated & reattached. I know that they make some both with magnets that attach them & others that can clip into the other side. The other thing that would be possible is that they removed the lenses from one side along with the temple on that side & worked the key over onto the bridge then put everything back together.

my mom (yes, my MOM) wanted to try this "life hack" where you put an egg in a cup with pepsi and coke and after 24 hours it turns into a bouncy ball or some shit. At that very moment i was very disappointed. 24 hours pass and they look into the cup, and there it was, a raw fucking egg and some wasted pepsi and coke. thankyou 5 minute crafts for turning my mom into an idiot, also mom if you see this i love you.

The plants in the egg is actually very useful, when you grow a plant, it very quickly grows out of a small pot and it's annoying to repot them.
If that first tool actually cracks eggs that cleanly, it would be a pretty neat piece of assistive technology

I’m a doll customizer and the doll hair hack was infuriating to wach.
1. They make re rerouting look like a simple pastime, when it takes ages to get done, and a lot more work than you think
2. They didn’t show that when rooting yarn instead of official doll hair, don’t plug all the holes!! The hair will get super poofy and not look natural or even good.
3. They didn’t show the fact that you have to make a part in the hair for it to look like hair, so some people are gonna be hella confused by their instructions.
4, their instructions are wrong in all ways. Most of us use a re rooting tool, which is a large needle, with the eye cut in an angle to put the hair in. You fold over the yarn, which is twice as long as you want the hair to be, and push it into the hole in the head. Repeat ~200 times and you have a full head of doll hair. The way they showed was so inconsistent. And the needle was so big that it’s gonna hair the vinal head.
5. Taking the art and hard work of doll customizing and turning it into a qUIrkY life hack, is infuriating.
Your comment deserves a LOT more attention. I'm not in the doll community, but if everything you said is true then this is super insightful.

Not only that, rerooting isn't the only way to fix or redo a doll's hair. I've seen some people come up with some pretty creative ways to do it that are less time consuming. They would even make more sense for 5min craft video but they had to do the more skilled and time consuming way????
