No. They are twice the price and do not offer the freedom of range gas bike does. Lots of fun, just *NOT* a "worthy alternative". These are something entirely different than a Grom or other gas bike.
@@kevinsellsit5584 Depends on what you're using them for and how far you're riding them. As long as you're not going a long way on e bikes, they can be a great alternative. I guess it depends what you like but petrol ones beat them on range.
@@Neilukuk Don't get me wrong, I love light electric vehicles. Electric stand up scooters (that will do wheelies all day long) are my favorite. I just don't think they offer the feedom that a gas bike does. A 200 mile day trip is a sporty adventure on a grom, but not likely on most if any electric. That being said, I have an FJ1200 for my long rides, and a V65 Magna for local stuff (the V65 has s#!t for range). And yes, I'm old school lol.
@@kevinsellsit5584 Hopefully range will improve in time but I don't have much faith that it will improve a lot more. I don't have a driving license so electric is brilliant for riding around local area and going on short rides. I get around 30 miles on my bike and around 9 miles on scooter. It is a completely different experience riding an electric bike or scooter and I love it. I hope you have a nice weekend and take care.
When bikes get this fast it requires wearing protective gear as you would on a motorcycle, destroying it's convenience. A motorcycle will run circles around these. No thanks, a 28mph bicycle is good enough and I can still ride it on the bike paths.
@@Datacube Troxus Explorer, 750w hub motor, 48v 20ah battery. It's a great bike. My motorcycle is a Husqvarna Vitpilen 401.It's list price for 2023 is $5649. it'll do over 100mph. Cheers!
George, I'm a long time dirt rider. I rode a modded Sur Ron last week. Trust me, it will beat a modern 250. I'm seriously considering the Sting MX4 and an extra battery. As much as I'm proud of the many years of riding that built my skill for finessing long hillclimbs, and changing gears at the exact microsecond needed to navigate a nasty trail, there were SO many things about the E-bike that were wonderful. No noise, no gears(!) just focus on cornering better, no gas, no starting, NO service!!! Ya. I can't help but think this is truly the next step in dirt bike evolution.
These bikes are great if you’re not going too far and can charge them at home. I have an electric trials bike and it’s great but a petrol one for road trips.
Hello, thank you for your feedback. It is something that only a faction of EV manufacturers are offering today. Could it be influenced to carmakers that want their electric vehicles to be heard at all times? Is it made to keep pedestrians safe?
@@trini_boi2414 Sorry I drive a electric bicycle on the daily. 1: They are plenty loud so that in a non noise pollution environment you are more than capable of hearing them 2: In a noise pollution environment (like any normal city road) it doesn't matter, cars can sneak up on you. So as I said, it's a ridiculous idea probably invented by some moron who has no idea how the real world works.
It’s completely shocking, how significantly far behind some of you are in terms of knowledge of battery technology, innovations and the purpose of parts and sounds in an EV. Y’all have a lot of homework to do.
Hello, thanks for your feedback. These would not be the replacements for real motorcycles. There are proper, full-size electric bikes out there. These are just fun alternatives to models like Honda Monkey.
Yup. And like everything else in the world they are All expensive. If your always dirt poor like me you will never get to have anything like this. For poor people the world and all its fun things just skip on bye us.
2000 for a bike is not expensive, some of them cost 6k or more, you can get ebikes for under 1000 but it will break fast, and dont have a bigger range.
You are the only reason you are poor/broke. Maybe better decisions, read and learn. Build yourself. The world will leave you behind if you just sit on your ass watching youtube all day.

"Artificial engine sound" that is beyond ridiculous, and completely unnecessary.

The sound is for safety so ppl and drivers could hear you coming.. some bikers install loud exhaust for the same reason..
