Just got my HB52 in the mail, and I powered up my amp, and - Geez, this baby just might be taking over my Bulletini’s job. It fits nicely in my hands. The Blaster’s response to hand articulation is kinda astonishing. None of my other mics(and I do have some sweet ones) has the Blaster’s responsiveness to cupping. With this mic, I can bring more of my acoustic wah stuff into my amplified playing. It has a really full tonal through the whole range. This is a great little mic.
Great sound through that amp, I just got your signature stage 5 recently. But my shure 520dx still wasn't cutting it. I looked at bulletini, but due to being budget conscience I decided to order this one. It's awesome sounding enough for me. 👌👍
You will want to order an XLR to quarter inch cable (2 pin hot) to work with this mic if you decide to get one. I also plan on doing a demo mid-March through my Fender Bassman.
I can honestly tell you guys that tone of this mic compared to a 520dx is no comparison at all. the Hohner mic is hands down a better harp mic in every way.
Hey Ronnie, you sound great and good review for this new mic! The mic's response to hand wah's are better than some other modern bullet mics I've heard and used, closer to how a CM or Crystal element usually responds. How's it sound played with one hand? Brighter and thinner like those old elements, or just slightly thinner like the HE element? Thanks! Boaz
the Heuman element has a bit more bottom end. this mic has good bottom when cupped as you can hear in this clip, but not as dark as the HE. I do love the articulation of this mic and overall tone. It will brighten up when not cupped of course.
Thanks Ronnie. I’m going to purchase this mic and connect it to a Blackstar Fly 3 amp. What do I need to purchase to connect? I’m being told I need a microphone impedance transformer, a phantom power source, and 2 XLR cables. I need advice. Thank you!
Mike Cosgrove Standard female XLR to quarter inch cable will do it. They called a 2 pin hot. It will work when directly plugged into your amp without a transformer.
I would not. I would get both. Seriously, it's a matter of taste and whether or not you'll be using a small amp or big amp. also, budget could be a variable.
@@andreasstenstad9537 if you don't love those amps, why not sell them all and get one really good one. I have no idea how it would sound through any of those. Never played them.
Hi Ronnie - Love the sound! I've got your Stage 5 amp... what cable are you going through? I know you said "2-pin hot," but could you post a link to where I can find one? Also - is your cable XLR-to-1/4 inch, or XLR=to=XLR with an adaptor? Any and all info is appreciated!
It is a brighter mic than the bulletini. Totally different beasts but they’re both nice mics. I am happy to do a side-by-side comparison in a future clip.
@@Harmonica123 That would be super. I've been playing my 80's - era Green Bullet since, well, the 80's, but have been sniffing around for a new mic lately. I'd be VERY interested in a compare/contrast. Cheers!
Hi, Ronnie, I have a question for you... So I got the Harp Blaster HB 52 for Christmas and I went to plug it into my cord it would not work so I thought maybe the Amazon Prim guy was not careful with the package and tossed/drop it so I tried plugging it in again and it still would not work so I sent it back and I just got another Harp Blaster HB 52 and it still won't work... Am I doing something wrong or do I have the wrong cord cable? I have a Blues Blaster microphone and it works fine... I am a bit disappointed because it does not work again and now I have to send it back again... I'm starting to not like or care about this microphone... It should work... Do you know what might be wrong any help would be great Thank You for sharing?
@Harmonica123, Thanks for your help. It was bought online at Amazon but no one at Guitar Center seems to know anything about what you just said. They should have told me that. It is great that you know about this Mic Thank You.
Ralph Ventura You can head to my community tab on my TH-cam page where I posted a picture of an Astatic and this mic side by side. This mic is bigger than a Bulletini.
Pretty nice solo groove playing at the beginning of your video.

finally! a good demonstration of the great qualities of this microphone ! Good job 👍🏼
And thanks to this video, I now own one of these beauties. Cheers Ronnie. Great bit of kit !
That is an amazing tremolo technique you are employing.
these mics are currently not available but are on sale as "pre-order" at RockinRonsMusicSD.com
Nice demo! Very tempted by one of these bad boys :-)
Sounds great, a few friends here in the UK have already ordered theirs. I'll be next I think!

So, no impedance matching transformer needed to plug this bad boy into an amp?
Ronnie, what brand cable are you using in the demo?
Nope
it was given to me so I'm not 100% sure. any XLR female to 1/4" should work fine. It is a standard cable, 2 pin hot.
Ronnie Shellist Ronnie? Is that the Hohner Marine Band Deluxe in A Dur ??? 😅✌️
Cool tone
Nice mike
I think I need one next
Great demonstration
Thank you
Wow Suena tremendo Papa, Looks nice too!
I got one after watching this video. Thanks Ronnie
Sounds great!
You're coming through a nice and clear.
Looks really cool
And sounds amazing, just the. sound we.
Brilliant
That sounds wicked. Great to meet you Friday in Memphis
you too Paul!
I got one, great mic.
Saw this when they released it, been waiting on a review from yourself, seeing your excitement has helped me make my mind up 👍 nice one 👍
I think they nailed it
@@Harmonica123 is it made in Germany?
@@thBrilliantFool not sure. i'll check but i don't think so.

Perfect I was hoping you do a review on this. Looks and sounds way better than the 520dx by far.
I can honestly tell you guys that tone of this mic compared to a 520dx is no comparison at all. the Hohner mic is hands down a better harp mic in every way.
I said that it reminds of the old Turner mics but I think I meant the Astatic 200s
Ronnie Master all Class from Hohner 💪🏼😎
Sounds good, and looks sharp. I like the finish, but they turned my beautiful Astatic 200 grill on its side.
haha...nice catch. I think it looks awesome.

Hello from Norway! If you had too choose between the bulletini and this mic, with one would IT be ? 🤔
I would not. I would get both. Seriously, it's a matter of taste and whether or not you'll be using a small amp or big amp. also, budget could be a variable.
Ronnie Shellist Yup , budged is the clue , got two old solid state amps, one fender FM 212, and a small Morgan amp.

Ronnie Shellist yeah Im thinking about doing just that. Thanx 👍🏻
Andreas Østenstad good thread, asked and answered cheers guys
Hey Ronnie,
Tell me why you would want to disable the XLR locking mechanism?
So, in case you step on the cable on stage it doesn't break the cable or input on the mic.

XLR to 1/4 inch. Not sure which cable it is but I got it from sweetwater..balanced and stereo i believe.
will this work with a marshall guitar amp?
bill nicholson yes but that Marshall might not be the friendliest amp for avoiding feedback.
Sounds good, Ronnie. I like your playing. What's your opinion on how this sounds/handles compared to the Bulletini?

you have to use what's called a 2 pin hot cord. that's the issue.

look up Tony Glover and his book
Que bien suena ronie
Sweet
I have a shaker mic and when I get better i think my next move may be the bulletini How is that compared to the bulletini mic?
not quite as much bottom end. they have their own unique tone. I have plenty of clips up with me playing the bulletini element with the same amp.
What’s the size like comparing thee Hohner to the Bulletini. They seem about the same size, I think.
