Just ordered this keyboard, great material and great price. Love the aluminum feel. Don't forget it is 3 mode, Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4G, and wired mode. Furthermore, it is RGB and hotplug.

I have one "regular" RK84. The feel is "just OK" from stock. Since the main idea to have an RK84 for me is to mod it, I think the Aluminium case is not worthy. Could please confirm if the RK84 Pro has the same plate as the regular one? Thanks and keep the great work!

On sale right now for $54. I'm still waiting on the Klim Shift to drop to $20ish though. Triple connectivity mode, per key RGB, two sets of keycaps, and removable shroud - all for around $20-30 usually. Drop in some better foam, better switches, and keycaps and you've got a dumb good custom for cheap
How is wireless performance in metal case, compare with original plastic case?
I was so excited about metal case that I watched you video. Great to see USB is finally moved to the left, it should be from the beginning. But disappointed they removed USB-a ports, and totally agree on the bezel size. If only the bezel is a bit taller to cover keycaps base and as thick as (or a bit thinner than) original one, with better LED, I might have already ordered it.
75% keyboards are my favorite and the Drevo Exalibur is my top pick because it has a numpad function that allows me to use ASCII codes.

I just got my rk84 pro today (got it $20 off!) these keycaps are awful, but the sound is not too bad. Though, it kind of has this paper like sound? it makes me wonder how the non-pro version sounds. and I agree I wish it came in a black - it would match my setup more! The USB receiver also fits too tight - will contact CS about it :(

They even remove the slot to store the dongle… does the full aluminum body affect the Bluetooth signal? A lot of full aluminum body need a cut out or put the Bluetooth module at the space bar for it to work, I think that’s why a lot of wireless keyboard, including those ultra thin membrane keyboard, has a plastic bottom instead.
I ordered my non-pro right after this video, and i had no clue about the pro version. I'm ok with this one, tho. Great keyboard, and it makes it not so heavy to walk around with.
Yes! They sould just sell it as barebones because I'm gonna end up throwing out the keycaps and switches anyways. I'll probably just go for Keychron Q1 at this point. Great vid!
One of the downsides of the new metal (aluminum?) case that I noticed is that it’s quite a bit pingier than the original. Not sure how easy it would be to get inside the Pro, but some noise dampening would definitely help.

You kept talking about the look. In the whole 7mins and 46seconds, no mention about the 2.4ghz dongle. Is it fixed? The major flaw of rk84 is the dongle which has a very low range. So how was it?

Hey,there is a 95% keyboard from royal kludge which is the rk100/rk680 and Ive been wondering if the quality of that is equal or close to what you think of the rk84
Can you show what's inside the keyboard? Some people claimed that there is nice silicone dampening between the PCB and plate but some said they didn't get it :O
Pro covers the switch. Which is a down for me. The plastic got a detachable frame which shows the base of your switch, for me that added the unique suave looking keyboard. Plus it is cheaper. Lastly i wonder if you can buy an aluminum case for the non pro version. How much would the added price be. Same with the pro or much expensive?
Hello CTR, this board is $70 prebuilt, trying to decide if i should get this over the akko 3084 plus, with akko being only $10 higher. which one should i get as a prebuilt?
It says on their product advertising that they didn’t put the usb hub because “the CNC frame processing is so difficult and leads to higher costs” but I’m going to have to call bull shit on that. The milling bit already had to go to that side of the frame to drill out the type C port so it wouldn’t be difficult to put in two more way points to drill out two more holes.
And didn’t you make it more expensive for yourself to make ANOTHER k84 PCB that doesn’t include the USB ports? Now you’re taking up double the machines to make two versions of the k84 pcb which DOES cost more money
The aluminum is finished. The finish is called clear anodize. It generally turns out a satin silver color, but it can turn out gray on certain alloys.
The anodize finish produces a hard and durable finish. It also protects the aluminum from oxidization.
Most of the difference in sound is probably the case material. Part of it can be attributed to the keycap material. The plastic case model uses ABS caps and the pro model uses PBT caps. As to which sounds best, it's entirely subjective.
The Pro model also uses ABS caps as far as I'm aware
The Pro is going for $90 right now and the normal is $64, but I'm still not sure if it's worth losing the USB ports and I kinda like the removeable frame.
I still think the normal one is way better. The 2 usb ports are what makes it more appealing.
Any official word on why the USB ports were dropped on the Pro? Can’t understand what logic would have applied here. Loving my regular RK84.

It isn't possible to remove the top part of the aluminium body to get a floating design like on the non pro version, right?

They have 3 different pro versions. If you could, it would be nice to have this same comparison but for all 3, the RK61, RK68, and RK84.
Personally I think it makes sense that he’s just doing the rk84 comparison since doing all 3 would make too long a video for repetitive info and in general be pricier if he wasn’t sent them. If the difference between the pro versions between the other pro versions is just the layout, then it’s personal preference and you can just apply the same ideology in this video to the other pro layouts.

Just wanna ask which is more worth it, Royal Kludge RK84 Pro Prebuilt ($70 in my country) or Feker IK75 Pro Custom ($77-$86 in my country). Can't decide between the two, I like the aluminum case on the RK84 Pro but I like to custom my own switches and keycaps on the IK75 Pro

along with usb so i dont have to stand and plug it in the pc.
