  • I decided to take my ‪@XpressBoats1966‬ X-21 as FAR up a creek as I could to see just how shallow it can actually go. Hope you guys enjoy this "test mission" in the Xpress.

As a fairly new fiberglass bass boat owner I honestly have kinda regretted not getting a tin rig like this. I bought a champion 203 and no doubt I love my boat but I always worry about hitting something or messing up the fiberglass. Back when I ran my 16ft tracker I fished anywhere I wanted. Now I limit myself out of fear of messing up my boat. These new tin rigs are amazing and I think they are the future on tour. Slowly more and more guys will be running these until glass is fizzled out.

If Xpress would move the fuel tank to under the seat, would level out the boat and have a lower center of gravity, you might be able to get even shallower. Would also allow for more storage and possibly larger live wells.

I live in texas and have had an express bass boat and have a friend that ownes one now and they have the benefit of being tuff and you talk about having your glass boat in the shop . Wait till you have to have all the stress cracks welded up , it gets way expensive , and finding someone who's good enough welder to repair right the first time is like finding hens teeth . Express is just to thin , they are tuff for a while . For my money if I was gonna get another tin boat it would be gator tracks , but for now my skeeter with the gorilla on the bottom will do .

Here’s the Xpress warranty info from their website. If something happens to anything I own I typically see what the warranty is.
      Terms of Lifetime Warranty Coverage:
Xpress will structurally warrant all transom and hull seam welds for the lifetime of the boat, with all repairs made under this warranty to be performed at Xpress’ plant in Hot Springs

It takes a little while is the only complaint, but Xpress has been very good about fixing anything that comes loose. I had an X70 for 19 years. It does have pro and cons. Backing up was bad. It would never back up straight. I have got my skeeterzx225 just as shallow. One of the greatest advantages of the Xpress is It Will Take A Licking!!!! I bumped into a dock did $2000 worth of damage to my skeeter. My.Xpress would have put a licking on that dock. Ride ride the skeeter comes out on top. Also on tackle storage. I don’t know how many Lewers I have thrown away because they got wet and either rusted or just messed up my rubber worms. Don’t have that with my Skeeter. Even my friend Cox has that problem in his crest liner. They even had named John boat Don. What made me decide on the Skeeter came down to price. ZX 225 or X 21. With no Xpress dealers in Central Florida. When I decide to buy a buy a new boat I will look at Xpress.

The 24 ft I’m ordering with a 500 hP inboard will outrun a bass boat, float shallower than a glass or outboard, and not worry about prop damage. The bass tournament rules are ridiculous……just due to fiberglass boat builders and outboard manufacturers worrying about getting their a$$es beat.

Cmon Luke. You my man but!!!!! Just a boat commercial buddy . I will go anywhere you go with my glass but unless we bottom out hard and have to push. The only why you could go where I couldn’t is if you were running a jet. You have about 2/3 less distance than I do. You hold about 30 gal less fuel. If you have fuel stops no problem but if not your screwed from making a long run. That boat will 100% not run in the big northern lakes when they get 3 ft or more with a glass boat . It would take you 4or 5 times as long to run same distance with an experienced driver. Won’t happen . The boats also don’t fish like a glass boat in wind. They blow around all over the place . Ask Christy. I know the game you have to talk up your sponsors. But dam man slack up a little. You would be saying the same thing about a glass boat if you had the same deal. Everyone looks at Cox and says he runs a tin boat . Yea but he’s shallow water guy. There’s a big difference . They both have there place. Just ease up on trashing glass who knows you may be in one again one day then what? I still love you tho bro!
