    I like this video. You have explained many factors I have and many fisherman have. I'm a budget angler and I have to weigh the pros and cons in the best aluminum boat that's practical in my situation and not break the bank but will have what I need for the boat. Budget buying is tough because there is a sacrifice to be made. Great video!!

    Dam right brother! Im still fishin out of my 91 tracker.50 hp johnson.this boat has been thru it all & back!! I live in arkansas.i fish the river 90% of the time.the other 20% is swamp whereim cutting thru oxbow ditches & jumping over fallen trees.this boat like yours has seen it all & is still in as good as shape as it was when i bought it.i upgraded to the same exzact t motor as well.love it.could not imagine owning a fiberglass boat.it would be wrecked in a month lol.dam good video.maybe some of these "young guns" will learn something lol.stay safe out there.fish hard!

    I don't know why so many guys never mention price as a factor, when for most of us it is. Aluminum boats are great for shallow water, they are rugged, do not require a lot of HP to move at a decent speed and are very economical on gas, but the number one factor for most guys (like myself) who own them is price, they are much more affordable than glass boats, cheaper to run and maintain, cheaper to insure and easier to clean and store.

    Great video boss. I’ve lived on Pickwick Lake my whole life and I’ve fished the rough on the Tennessee river up to the little side creeks of Baysprings. If you plan on fishing every piece of water you see aluminum is the way. Also with 4 strokes being such gas savers the lighter hulls and shallower draft really saves gas.

    • @GunnFishTV
      @GunnFishTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely.....Aluminum gives you so many advantages over Fiberglass and we all know the best fishing is way up the rivers!!

    Just pulled the trigger on a tracker 195 txw tournament edition with the 150 pro xs 4stroke. Best option I did was order it with the vinyl flooring. Hopefully it'll be here in 8 weeks. Ran a javelin renegade 20 the past 15 years and the tracker front deck is huge compared to the javelin. I'll miss my javelin as I am going to put her up for sale. Looked at the z18 but liked the tracker better especially for fishing the Nottoway and Blackwater river.

    I actually had a pt175 with a 75hp outboard and loved it. Bought a Nitro NX882 and the biggest advantages are stability, speed, and fuel capacity. Other than that you can catch fish out of both and your operating cost are almost half in the aluminum boat.

    I completely agree aluminum is the way to go. I also like your comment an a boat has never caught a fish. I fish a lake filled with rich people with high dollar boats and I out fish them almost all the time. I have used the comment "I've yet to see a boat catch a fish" maybe someday but not yet. I sure know the owners of these $50,000 to $60,000 boats can't catch crap.

      @GunnFishTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question!! When I first bought the boat I actually tried 7 different stainless props and I never did find one that would allow me to maintain RPMs and get the boat on plane the way Aluminum would......and really since I mainly fished a very shallow l, woody river where I routinely destroyed props it wasn't that big of deal. However a few weeks after i did this video i upgraded my motor and will most likely be going with a stainless on this one for the lakes. Be on the lookout for that vid!! I will be talking about the upgrade and performance with my new motor. Thanks for the question and view. Tight lines!!

    • @chriswillaims2918
      @chriswillaims2918 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Better be careful running a stainless prop if you plan on running it into stuff. The prop may take a beating but it will transfer that damage up to your lower unit. Better off wrecking an aluminum prop and saving the lower unit.

    • @AlaskanMissions
      @AlaskanMissions 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Consider a jet drive lower unit. No more prop issues. It will run in a couple of inches of water. Runs much shallower than a prop. Issues are 1. Not as efficient as a prop. You will need more hp. 2. If you suck up gravel it can hurt the jet drive.
