- Comida Brasileira, Brazilian Food! Brazil is full of delicious meats, fruits, and specialties. Here we go through six overall tasty treats you should have when you come to Brazil. The best of Brazilian food, so you know what to eat when you visit Brazil.
1. The Lanches: the snacks like Pao de Quiejo (cheese bread), Coixinha do Frango (fried chicken dough ball), and such that go great with a Chop (draft beer) or a Caipirinha (the local Brazilian mixed drink), and if you don’t like alcohol the drink of brazil is Guarana.
2. The Meats: Brazil is full of great meat and the most famous meats you will have at a Rodizio or Chrassasco. Here they walk around with many different types of meats from chicken hearts to ribs, but the most important is Picanha, a specific kind of Brazilian cut of meat.
3. The Fruits: Brazil is full of amazing fruit and many you might not have heard of. Visit a market and try fruit you never saw before and have juices made fresh just for you.
4. The Sweets: those fruits go well into many of the bolos (cakes) that are in Brazil, but if you want some chocolate have Brigadeiro, a chocolate made with sweetened condense milk. There are also traditional favorites like doce de leite (cream caramel) or doce de abobara (sweetness of pumpkin).
5. The Local Dishes: each region in Brazil has its own specialities so make sure you are trying what is popular where you are. The south is famous for its beef. The northeast is great for seafood. Bahia has acaraje a bean paste taco kind of dish with shrimp inside. Sao Paulo has its own mortadella/bologna sandwich, or chicken cooked in its own blood in Minas Gerais.
6. Beans and Rice: beans and rice will appear on the menu again and again and even if you didn’t order them expect beans and rice. They are a staple of the Brazilian food culture. Some typical dishes that highlight these are Caldo de Feijao which is a bean soup/stew dish you have as a starter. Feijoada which is the Brazilian bean stew you will have served with rice, kovi, fried banana and with a ice cold chop (beer).

Peco desculpas! I'm sorry about the sound quality. We were in the market and it was loud, but we thought it would be best to show you how it is when you visit the Mercado Municipal in Sao Paulo. And of course my Brazilian mom had to be in the video too. Obrigado! ps. Bob's milkshakes are pretty good too :)
NO problem, we want the real thing... not something white washed! This was great.
When you said bacalhau it sounded like you said catfish instead of codfish. But had to reverse back a few times to hear that you said the right thing. Great video, keep up the interesting videos, thanks.
Wolters World, that was awesome! Really glad you did Mark. Can you give us some idea of the prices for the different foods. Man...it all looked so delicious!!
Bem vindo meu consagrado
Não precisa pedir desculpas!!! We can see how you love Brazilian food, fruits and dishes!! Thanks Mark, you show how important is food when we travel!!!👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Man, seriouly, the best brazilian food review on TH-cam. Well done!
Thanks Donald!
This video represents Brazil too well. Lots of people, noise and food hahaha
Exactly
I’’m Brazilian and i’m so proud seeing this. Brazil surely has some of the best food in the world! Fresh fruits, brigadeiro, arroz, feijão, fresh juices... thank you for this vídeo ❤️
Obrigado! And you are very welcome. Abraço!
deusaaaaaaaaaaaaa
O feijão foi trazido de Portugal e o arroz e originário da Asia
I luv brigadeiro
@@arthurvanrodds2772 mas é algo brasileiro. E muito brasileiro. A cara de nosso país.
Holy crap! I am from Philippines and I went to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro! Holy crap! The food was amazing! I loved most of it! That mortadella sandwich is huge! Must share! Their desserts are really sweet! They use condensed milk in almost everything! Pao de queijo: heaven! It may have taken me 34 hrs to get to Brazil from Philippines, but I would go back in a heartbeat!
I just returned from my yearly Brazil-visit (always the region "Sertão"). For me "Carne de Sol" is the best choice of meat on Pizza, Pastel, etc.. It's salted sun-dried beaf. Very popular in the north-east region.
Stephan Spielmann carne de sol!!! It's so good. I eat it a lot in the northeast
brazil loves you man !
And I love Brazil!
@@woltersworld and i love you both

Mark, you are the only travel channel I watch on YT simply because you come across as genuine and your optimistic outlook of life makes your videos enjoyable and entertaining. Thank you!
Kris Scammer Kantu nothing against mark but their are other good channels and in some ways better than mark, expand your mind..
Doc Holliday Perhaps there is. I am talking about his persona and his presentation which are far more important factors than pure accurate detailed facts.
People buy anything mostly based on emotions and not on logic. This is how to make money in business.
Was just thinking that!
Me deu até fome...agora...de madrugada...
I Love our food (cuscuz, guaraná, fígado, brigadeiro, pastel e BBQ) 🇧🇷🇺🇲
Hello Mark, I'm a fan of your channel! Always with a very good and accurate info with your easy-to-listen English!
Next time you're in Brazil, if you haven't tried yet, try some Açaí bowls, pudim and paçoca (both the northeastern dish which is astonishingly delicious and the sweet with the same name)... also perhaps you've had Farofa with your Feijoada? And one food that I miss in the US is the requeijão, a cream-cheese-like product... when you put it in a pão de queijo, it doubles its awesomeness!
And a tip for whoever goes to a churrascaria to get your rodízio (all-you-can-eat meat in skewers): the 'tradition' is to have as dessert the Papaya Cream with Crème-de-Cassis. It works as a great 'digestif'. Greetings!
I'm from Brazil and I totally agree with this video!
Obrigado!
No, thank you! Your videos are really helpful and I really appreciate them!!! I'm moving to Europe and your videos are great to find the best spots to visit!

Glad you made this video, agree with all your picks. I think a big one you missed is Empadão, one of my very favourites!
Empadao was supposed to be in the lanche part at the beginning but I forgot to say it. Thanks for reminding me onrigado!

Top de mais 🎉🎉
Amei esse vídeo . kkkk 🇧🇷
Comida brasileira rocks!!!
My wife is Brazilian, so much good foods. I try to tell people a few things, first if your a vegetarian, change your diet. I'm just kidding, but they have lots of food. Another great food is the tapioca. It's very different from the states. I also say have a coconut and queijo coalho, especially if you are going to be at the beach. Last, make sure you have lost some weight before cause the food is so good you may gain a few extra pounds.
Your channel is fantastic
Obrigado!
Feijoada is my favourite! I've had it done Brasilian and Portuguese recipes but Brasilian with black beans is the best.
colin Paterson I agree :)
Muito bom
i from brazil and i love your video
love Brazilian food!
This is making me miss Brazil like hell, damn....
Nice!
FRIEND PASTEL IS VERY YUMMY
You are always welcome here, my friend!
Welcome To Brazil
The only thing that is missing is Açaí, one of my favourites!
Kkkk essa foi incredible
Everything that’s absolutely good for you! 😀🤪 It’s great comfort food, though; I’ll give you that much.
So healthy :)
Deu até fome kkkk😮😮😮😅😅
Pastel com guarana 👏💯
hey nice! BEM VINDO
We are in Campos dos Goytacazes and just got home from lunch so this was a perfect video! Here we don’t have as many rodozios we have more chisquiean (spelling). Tried contra file but normally have either picanha or bahnanania (probably spelled wrong but it’s prime rib in the US). Definitely had both a caipirinha and a guarana. I have loved EVERYTHING I have eaten since we started living here in February!
Nancy Labauve awesome.
Love that you filmed at the market. Very cool. The only Brazilian I've had is rodizio style churrascaria and although delicious I'm actually weary of them. I've been to Fogo de Chao, Rodizio Grill and Texas de Brazil easily 50+ times because everyone always wants to go. What I really want to try is *_acaraje._* This was an awesome food episode! 👍
Tosh T I've never been to a rodizio in the US. I guess it's time for me to check one out and it's definitely time for you to go to Brasil!
Acaraje and Bahian food in general..... is amazing! Hope you get to try it!
+Don Geraçi 👍
Mmmm Guaraná *drools*
A tiazinha destruindo um pastelão. Gosto de gente sem frescura.
Brasil é top
Eu sei a comida da qui e boa pricipalmente o Guaraná.🇧🇷🇧🇷
Guarana Antartica tastes like cherry 7-UP! Love it! Qual sucos de frutas posso expiramente no Brazil?
(: Thank You!!!!! ... ☺
Oh Pastel, i'll go to the supermarket by some pasta so I can fry them at home, with that cheese filling, oh man i was on a diet.
Danyel Henrique man pastel is awesome!
I'm pretty sure that pastel is made from filo pastry not pasta
Brasil lugar de culinaria boa
Gurdana is so good
I vote for more Brazilian mum air time!
Coxinha: wheat flour. There is no potato in the pasta.
Pastel: the pasta is also made with wheat flour and always a little of some alcoholic beverage to form these bubbles when frying.
Usually a glass of alcohol, but also can be cachaça
This is the secret of the bubbles that form in the batter when frying
Sorry my english is asleep, I need to exercise
Obrigado! Nao sabia a massa da coixinha. Obrigado!
Sugar kane juice is very usual as well
Also, if you're ever in Madeira, and it's only there, get a soda called Brisa, and they make an apple flavored one, so look for Brisa Maça. SO GOOD!
What is the location that this was recorded? I'm trying to find it on Google Maps for when I visit! Obrigado.
It's the mercado municipal in sao paulo
Açaí!
Queria comer um pastel desse tamanha . 😅😊
I've been there!!!!!!!!!!
Moqueca! Mo' Moqueca por favor. Alcatra is underrated cut of meat perfect for the churrasco. Will pass on the piranha, didn't do it for me when I tried in Leticia (Colombian Amazon)... though the pirarucu, on the other hand, was brilliant.
Muito bom, amei ver a mulher comendo com muito gosto do seu lado.Que saudade dessas comidinhas!bom proveito!
Obrigado!
Guaraná is great
no1reallycaresabout2 yes it is :)
Wolters World
It's hard to get here in the USA, but ubiquitous in Portugal, so when I was there, I bought a bottle and packaged it carefully to bring back.
❤❤❤
In Brazil I would eat some Lucio’os
💯😋
I am Brazilian and I eat all of this.
❤😮
Feijoada completa com couve e farofa. Otima!
Man , I drank a lot of Guarana in Brazil , and a drink made by Brahma .
Guaraná *Mate Couro in glass bottle is the best, but you can get only in Minas Gerais
All of the food makes me so hungry!🤤
They are all worth a nibble :)
Very nice.
There's only two things I'd add:
Guaraná Antarctica isn't the best one. It is the most famous but not the best. Cruzeiro and Esportivo (both from country side in São Paulo state) are way better, for example.
And SUGARCANE JUICE. Symple the best.
I love eua
The island of Floripa in the south has incredible beaches, with little tourists.
the south really is awesome
Wonderful video! 💗 Greetings from London! 🇬🇧
Thank you!
pastel!!!!my favorite food here!
i just loooooooove them!!!
