I wish we got more prequel games. I want one where you are just a random faceless COG soldier trying to survive the early years against the Locust.
Perhaps said faceless COG soldier is the fourth Carmine brother. We'll never know...
Or maybe 2 or 3 generations of COG soldiers during the Pendulum Wars. To end the game as Colonel Hoffman then another E-Day Act
As much as I agree and enjoy the pre-The Coalition trilogy, no more. The only thing I like in G4, G5, and maybe G6 is Horde. G2 and G3 Horde had a lot more nit and grit feels, while G4 barely scratched the surface. As far as I'm concerned, the heyday of Gears of War and Halo are done.

Imagine being a locust beastrider, you have a squad of humans pinned down and one dude just straight up decides to throw away his gun and throw hands with you and your buddies and ends up killing a good number of your friends before someone shoots him in the back
What a badass. Would of been cool for a DLC with him and Marcus. Just two badasses acknowledging both their success.

Downfall? It was more like a Glorious End . How badass do you have to be to take on the Grubs in hand to hand combat and proceed to rip them apart.
Barrick was wounded and had severe Rustlung and still ripped a Locust in half

The new trilogy has nothing on the original, especially where Horde is concerned. G4 barely got my blood going, mainly when I got Snatched lol

I just remembered TC banned smoking and removed Barrick's cigar in Gears 5. So fucking lame of them.

Honestly while i have enjoyed various aspects of the new games I'll say this much it really feels like the gore for the series has been toned down.
A good example is killing enemies. Before if an enemy was DBNO and was crawling they would leave a trail of blood that is no longer in the game. Or how the remains for bodies featured the bones and plenty of blood when you killed someone. You will find no bones whatsoever in any remains, and the blood looks more like jelly than actual liquid.
It really feels like the Coalition is either being lazy with how kills and remains are done. Or more likely they are borderline trying to make the series T rated like what happened to Halo.

If Barrick came back, he’d come back fully and not as a zombie. He’s too badass to turn into one lol
I think most Gears fans would be confused as they never saw him die in the games, only the few that read the comics or see videos like this would understand why he's a zombie.
TC need to make these comics in the the acctual game i would happily wait 2 years for it honestly this would bring back die hard gears fans, great content ABZ as always love you bro ʕ •́؈•̀ ₎

Brother, Gears of War has SO MUCH material to work in games and spin off. Can't wait to see news of the next Gears of War 6 and I still wish to this day since I first played Gears of War, a game about the pendulum war

So how did he tear Locusts apart with his bare hands when the Locust are superhuman as it is? I feel like this is a serious plot hole that gets overlooked?

Cog Gears are far stronger than actual humans. They carry heavy weapons that would take a group of people to haul with little problem. And can apparently beat people to death just with their hands (most noticably squishing the head).
Bottom line it's very likely they can kill with just their hands.

My guess would be adrenaline. While the people of the gears universe are indeed “Human” they’re still on average larger than the average human we know today. Hell, Dizzy is probably the most normal sized person that’s well known, and even then I think he’s about 6’2” and still built super strong. Yet he’s small compared to someone like Marcus or Cole.
Since Serra isn’t earth, it’s probably well they’re a different type of human species, and gears getting more food and rations and training to keep up their size.
Adrenaline, even in normal humans can make us do some crazy, otherwise impossible stuff. Take that to the super soldiers size and strength of a GoW character and I can see why it’s possible.
It’s kind of the same concept why the lancer has a chainsaw. Typically you can’t pierce a locust hide, but with the retro lancer, if you get enough momentum and charge hard enough, you can still gore and kill an armored locust despite their tough body.
Barrick being my favorite character, I was ecstatic when he was brought back in season 8 of Gears 5. He was so criminally underrated despite being the one guy as tough as Marcus. Some may disagree but Barrick was a badass and went down as such, not seeing more of him was a lot of wasted potential.

everyone loves tai and cry on his death for how is tragic how he was demolished by the locust, but Barrick was just something else, and that's why he is my favorite character, hated they made him sound out of character on gears 5
