I loved seeing your classroom today and I'll be interested in how you organize everything. I think it's looking good so far! You do have a lot of stuff but all teachers do! When I retired I gave all my stuff away at school. I put the things I was getting rid of in the teachers lounge and it was all gone by the end of the day. I was so happy others got to use and take advantage of it. I'm glad you're listening to your body and it can be very overwhelming. I know the feeling!

I really enjoyed this video. I’m a retired 1st grade teacher and I remember well that “overwhelmed” feeling. You’re off to a great start and making a game plan sounds like a good idea. Rest first and then keep going, a little at a time.❤️🌹 NJ

I'm a teacher and my school is very strict about what we can have in our classrooms (boo!) There is actually a person at the school that comes into our classroom and goes through all our books and tells us what we can and can't have. We can only have so many books in our class library. Central office wants all the rooms to basically be the same. We also can't have anything not on a shelf or bin. We are only allowed the shelves and bins they approve. Also, the fire dept comes in during pre-planning and shows us how high/low we can place things. I guess it keeps us from making the room too busy. I always get overwhelmed at the beginning of the year.

Do you do a lot of push in or mostly pull out with your students? How long do you get to work with your students each day?
Glad you are listening to your body. That is a lot of stuff. I hope you are able to get rid of some old to put with the new. I am sure it will be wonderful when you are done. The kids are going to love those books. My kids that I think are your age read every babysitters book their was. My oldest I would kid that she eats books because she read so many. I read to her every night when she was a baby toddler and well into elementary school. Now she is a Speech Pathologist. I am so proud of her as I am sure your parents are as well!

Is what you teach a special (elective) or like a speech therapy? I’m glad that you’re recognizing your body’s signals, so that you’re not getting yourself overwhelmed.

Today I just got home from Walmart I bought. Pen +gear permanent markers,a flower folder,plain orange spiral notebook collage ruled :( like wide ruled better but o well,mini composition notebook (mini 3 pack), pencil pouch with a rainbow strap n other things on it,binder smiley face binder pencil case, (2) pop-it bracelets , (2) stickers in a 12 count poof ball scented strawberry pen a purple flexible ruler,crayola 20 count markers,24 count colors of the world n. Metallic crayons (24) count ear buds in pastel purple,(1o) glitter adhesive foam sheets,0.0 mermaid sticko stickers planner stickers on sale for only $1.98 ;-3, papermate clear point (4) count pencils in pastel Kinda colors :) n that’s everything. I bought so far I may be 22 but that doesn’t matter 2 meh…

Since you teach English are you able to speak other languages as well?
In addition to English, I can speak a little Spanish.
