Dude, just by looking at the picture its amply clear that the orientation is wrong. I have seen quite a few people mounted it wrong. Btw you reflex was awesome!
@@vinzaputra I guess it's just one do those things that got missed. To be fair to feiyuTech they have been very upfront and have put out a video themselves correcting this.
Jonathan, thanks so much for this heads-up! The reason I have wanted the AK4500 is because of something none of the others seem to have: that little touchscreen LED display! It looks hugely helpful. Cheers, brother of helpful warning!
So, first off...Thank you very much for this video. Second, I did this and then watched the video. SMF Thirdly, I bought this gimbal 7 or 8 months ago, it snapped on me the day of, I re-ordered parts and I just received them on the last week of July 2020. Not a happy customer with how long it took for the parts. I finally get to use the dam thing after waiting this long. Finally, I re-watched you video again to make sure I got it right this time! Thanks again!!!!
Wow! I’ve just been sent this gimble to review and have made exactly the same mistake myself! Thanks for clearing this up, definitely not obvious as some have said, and I have been scratching my head about that larger screw in the box since it arrived!
Great reflexes there! Very bad product information (if there's really no guide for attaching the handle) and especially the photo on the package is misleading. I can't believe how that kind of thing has gone unnoticed. Not buying the said gimbal (but going for Weebill S) but stumbled on your video when comparing the two.
Damn! I am working on the review of AK4500 and I've 70-80% script done. Never enough researching I thought and google up again today for some news. Thanks for the video, I'll mention the correct way of installation on my video. I installed it correctly somehow myself from the very beginning and never thought about it again. It's actually easy for a mistake.
I actually knew this from another review, the hyperlink is upside down mounted your first way. It pays to watch lots of reviews when buying new kit. ( mines in the mail)
Just happened to me yesterday during a shoot. I checked my box for that mounting screw and it wasn't included in the box. Now the tiny tiny tiny screw that holds the thumbscrew and it's own mounting screw together is now broke off. Is there a place to buy parts?
It happens exactly to me! If you Can fix your gimbal, pelease contact with me! I cant figure out to fix that tyni screw :((( cinemafilmsproductora@gmail.com
same thing happened with me with the pilotly maverick and its weak build. shame to these companies that they dont test their equipment before selling them

Nice save! Getting mine in a few days so this is a great tip.

As he said, there's no instruction so ??
My heart nearly gave out. Glad your reaction was on point to catch the entire rig before it crashed into the ground.
Thanks for the warning brother.
No worries, glad you found it helpful
Thanks for the video, it's very helpful for our users.
No worries at all.
How can feiyu don't mention this in the manual..
Glad that your camera is saved

No worries at all, just a heads up the screen isn't OLED, it's a touchscreen LCD.

Thank God you have quick reflexes.
Super great that you made this video.

Yes indeed, it's so easy to do. That's why I wanted to make the video and share it. Hopefully you didn't have any breakage.
wow happy to see you didn't drop your camera
Thanks for warning us.
Hey, no problem, glad it was helpful

Good thing you caught that
Lucky me I'm watching your invaluable video BEFORE I unboxed my AK4500.
Happy to help
Uhmm I dont see any comments about the Weight of that setup and how the gimbal was handled (all the weight was distributed on that particular point)
The latest version of the manual explicitly warns about this with scary red warning text. I wonder if that was a direct response to this video.
Quite possibly. I remember them getting in touch with me at the time thanking me for pointing it out.
Please read the manual for AK4500. Section 2.5 Versatile Arm Installation. ( page 4 ).
This wasn't in the manual at time of making this video. They have since added it when they became aware of the issue...
Holy crap that was a good catch man!
Thanks

How can they POSSIBLY make that mistake!
I actually knew this from another review, the hyperlink is upside down mounted your first way. It pays to watch lots of reviews when buying new kit. ( mines in the mail)
Yeah no worries, around 50% of he reviews I have seen have the handle the wrong way
How did you film this moment?
I'm glad you didn't take any major damage.
I was shooting a review video of the gimbal, check my channel for the full review video
My heart felt that real bad 😱. You were too lucky
Mine got the follow focus led not on and it like jammed, anyone know why?
Wow.. Good to know! thanks for sharing!

Chinglish documentation generally sucks ... as does their QC throughout the supply chain. Good warning video!
Thanks so much for this video 👍
You're most welcome

Well if you look at the instruction online it says in RED not to do what you did :)
They didn't exist at the time this video was made....
@@JonathanJScottFilms fair enough. Didnt know that. Im glad that your staff survived
