I completely disagree; that sort of nonsense is what the Vulcan's pushed on the Federation at its founding resulting in the horrendous Prime Directive.
Just wondering what type of primitive communications signals the ship picked up from a Middle Ages society through the depths of space? Were they yelling REALLY loud? Extraplanetary smoke signals??? Launching intergalactic farts???
Astrology cracks me up. I have trouble wrapping my head around the fact that some people actually believe that if you play connect-the-dots with groups of stars that are many lightyears from earth, then somehow the combined movements of the Earth, Moon, Sun, those groups of stars, and the other planetary bodies in our solar system actually have a controlling effect on their lives. 🤣 By the way, you can combine any number of any random stars to make totally new star group pictures. That means that you can create your own new zodiac signs, but they still won't have any controlling affect on your life. 🤣
I agre 100% and cannot stop laughing, "oh I am going to throw bunch of bones on the desk and make up some random nonsense that will happen to you just because it randomly dropped that way due to some thing called gravitiy, perhaps that god called gravitiy will make good fortune on you" XDDDD
idk how to feel about that. I believe that is about 90 percent superstition. But the month when someone is born may have an effect on their personality. That seems perfectly reasonable. So, observation 10 percent, superstition 90 percent seems about right. I don't think there is much science to back me up, but maybe there should be some. But based on seasons and customs, not stars. The stars could not care less about us. And if a star emits light 10 billion years ago and someone tells you that it was thinking of you when it did so and you believe it.... Then I think you're not on a first name basis with reality, you probably have to call it sir. We don't know what time is, or if it is even real and not a side effect of space or even a property of matter. So. Just no to astrology. However, customs and seasons, certainly that could have an effect on a broad view of personality.
@@sidsuspicious - I disagree. There are rituals, diet changes, weather changes, all kinds of environmental differences, especially the further back in time you go. It's just a thought exercise on how some observations may have eventually been perverted into the superstition of astrology. No, just no on astrology. I agree. No, just no on environmental factors having an effect on personality? Yes. Just, yes.
If these Earthers were truly compassionate they would have left the planet and it's people alone.

That was my question too 😂😂😂
I had the same thought.

So much for the Prime Directive! Oh wait this isn't Star Trek! lol!
Leave other people alone
Remember the prime directive
They are gay, it’s okay.

I feel the same about anyone that believes in psychics with those 800 phone numbers.

Dr. Alan Grant stopped studying dinosaurs after Jurassic Park. Just need Dr. Ellie Satler and Dr. Malcom… and maybe a couple of velociraptors.
So ludicrous, entire approach was subversive
Or was it; hast thou jumped to a conclusion without proper and careful thought?
So much for the prime directive. There goes the neighborhood.
So, the ship's computer labelled the planet Gaia, and that just happens to be what the locals call it. Wouldn't they have a name of thier own?
Maybe that is just how the Translator computer labelled whatever term the "Guyans" used.
@@jcarm185actually it was geyans 😂

I'm sorry but middle age society with the ability to transmit data (voice) over the airwaves?
Maybe an early form of radio??? Or the telegraph??
Great story.
