  • If you're looking for a detailed trip report of my experience flying from Los Angeles to Tokyo Narita on Singapore Airlines in a Boeing 777-300ER, then check out this video!
This is my first flight ever with Singapore Airlines headed to the Maldives...an interesting flight as SQ11, the flight number makes a pit stop at Tokyo Narita before continuing to Singapore. Not a bad thing if you are flying in economy class as we are on this flight. Enjoy!

Hello great video. It is now 2024. Who do you now recommend for the best economy airline to japan. Flying from lax to Tokyo. Thanks for your help.

I've only done Singapore. They consistently rate high, although I'm told ANA is better in my comments, but also more $...

Great report. I always hear Singapore provides great service. I didn't expect an amenity kit for economy!

Hi there, I have been a fan of SQ and most of the time, just tell them that you are a fan and a supporter, wait for all the passengers to leave then get a photo with them. Hope this helps and also I have been travelling with them most of my vacation.

Hi . Was this flight taken before Covid 19 and banning entry into Japan? Thank you

Yes. This flight was way back in 2017 actually...I'm hoping to repeat it in the new era of travel to see what's different today.

In my opinion having a separate channel for landings and take-offs seems counter-productive. Aviation geeks love the trip reports that include the take-offs and landings, it gives us overall a better experience when watching.

I thought the same thing for years, but my analytics don't support that conclusion.

Yes. It was full of copywrited music, so during the shutdown, I redid it with music not I have rights to.

The problem with Singapore Airlines is that 11 out of 12 months they charge $200 to $400 more than their competitors (economy class departing from the USA). This is huge and certainly not worth the extra smile, bottled water and hot towels. With that amount of money you can stay in a very nice hotel with complimentary breakfast at your destination.

I have heard that criticism from others...

I don't think they want to compete over prices anyway. In fact, they probably deliberately price themselves higher than others to create the impression of premium airlines to consumers.
