Great vid Kev, looks like such a fun event. Was good to chat with you both before the start 👌🏻

Nice run, mate. Looks like you had a fun time - which is what it's all about, after all. 👍
Looks like the driving lights could use a bit of adjustment. If you can get them, I'd recommend using narrow-beam driving lights for the middle two, aimed straight ahead...and really wide-angle flood lights for the sides, angled to each side a touch. I tend to aim them all just a touch high, so I don't lose too much visible distance when I need to brake hard or when approaching a rise. I've always preferred just a little light on the road surface from the centre lights - enough to see potholes and dirt - and aiming most of the light just above the surface gives me better visibility at speed in the distance where the road ends and the trees start. For the slower and/or tighter corners, the floods on the sides cover that well - not much range for those lights, but not much is needed.
All that said, it's each to his or her own - actually being the driver will show how effective the lighting is much better than the camera can. Cheers, mate.
    🍻

Super great advice thank you, especially about under braking. I love the look of the traditional lamps but LED bar is far superior. Ovs we wont be able to run that in classic events so thanks for your advice as i will need to improve the classic set up before i forget. Glad you enjoying the video

Its was amazing thank you, yes we said next time we should service together for that full BL/BMC vibe so we did just that at our last rally at goodwood. So glad you enjoyed the video

Fantastic video Kev. Looks like youse had an absolute blast on your first closed road event. You’re ready to come over this side of the Irish Sea for the Ulster Rally mate.

Cheers mate. We have big plans in the coming years to do one big event a year so a trip to Ulter would be an amazing option when the time is right. Glad you enjoying the video

thank you - yes our goals have always been to 1st have fun, 2nd to finish the rally and 3rd to finish in a higher position than we started - we were one of the slowest cars at the event but we met all of our goals so that in my eyes makes us winners :) - glad you enjoyed the video

Soapy water behind the decal, then squeeze the water out from behind, take you seconds for a perfect fit :)

Sorry, cant stand navigators who repeat themselves as if the driver is too dim to remember what they'd just said.
Ans as for the exuberance? A bit too 'yippee look what we're doing' for me

@TheGentlemensMotorRacingTeam well said - its a personal preference thing. I preferred notes that could be up to 4 or 5 corners ahead when it was twisty ... and an explicit 'Repeat' prefacing any repeated call.
Although, such lack of chat did allow me to once go all the way up a long steep hill at 8000 in 3rd *without* the navigator questioning why I wasn't in 4th ... that was embarrassing!

@@garyrowe58 wow thats insane - Katrin is pretty good at not repeating, however, if she can see me approaching a chicane from the wrong side she will prompt again.

I refuse to put in writing how much our speed was down to having an excellent co-driver ;) You don't have the grunt of the bigger guys in a mini, but you can certainly make better use of the twisty bits!
I remember on a tight stage in Cork, catching up with an escort 1.6 near the end, only for us both to catch up with a 2l escort just before the finish! As the escort struggled around the tight bends where it was a bit loose, the navigator was chatting to me about how much work they made of them ;)
The mini was a joy in stuff like that (1330, straight cut everything, gearing shortened by 1.04 drop gear, and a pair of splits), though long smooth straights were depressing!
