I was a Freshman at UT Austin in 2004 so with some perspective I feel great. This is an historic year. Quinn Ewers won the first ever home playoff game, recruiting is going gangbusters, playing in the SEC championship, and still in the running for a Natty. If that team shows up against Ohio State it won't go well but I always ask myself how would I feel if you gave me Texas' resume in August. The answer is I would feel great.
Really only game all season that Texas may have not been 100% focused and after the fast start was hard to stay focused. Ohio State made the big plays from the start and put Oregon on their heels early. I believe Texas will regroup and refocus. They are two well coached, all coaches, to not get there. Expect a well played game by both teams. My wish is for Texas to win and move on. We shall see.
That desperation game ASU played definitely worked for them. They took Texas by surprise almost everytime. But Texas is disciplined and it paid off at the end

Everyone was expecting Ohio State/ Oregon to be a nail biting thriller down to the final seconds, and Ohio State mopped the floor with Oregon and their flashy uniforms. No one can predict anything at this stage in the college football playoffs! I think Quinn still reminds himself everyday of that pain and disappointment after losing to Washington in last year's semifinal and watching his teammates Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell, and Jordan Whittington all hang their heads in wishing they had a chance to play for the national championship and falling just short.

There's a lot that can be said you're right about that. I will say that as someone who played and now coaches this game. Numbers and last week mean nothing on any given Saturday. What matters is who wants it more on game day. Who is there to win, and who's there to play? That being said, the bad was the 2010s. I'm proud of where we came to now. I have not seen Texas this good since the Brown era. Good teams win great teams find a way!
As a Texas alum and fan, you always feel great to advance. Each game is its own thing. Texas has certainly had down moments and head scratching moments, but they’re in their second consecutive CFP semifinal. Texas still hasn’t even really put together a complete game yet. The game against Ohio State could go either way depending on which versions of both Longhorns & Buckeyes teams show up. Biggest concern for Texas fans (and players probably) is the game coming down to a FG to win. That’s the most glaring weakness. It should be a great game. 🤘
Not a primary texas fan but I think they will be ready for OSU. ASU played their best game and Texas not so much but still won, that's what great teams do. Game should have never gone into OT. Texas was the better team. Manning needs to be used a lot more and not just for running.

Our trenches did amazing against them… what happened was what would happen with any great defense, they got tired. Our offense didn’t do their part and hence our defense was on the field way too much. Any defense would fall out like that but we did hold him down. Just needed to play complimentary football to help them maintain that.
As a lifelong longhorn, I can tell you that I feel very mixed at the moment. With all the talent and athleticism this team has, they should have put Arizona State away in the first half. The defense did their part, but they were on the field way too long. Our offense becomes very inept at times allowing the opposition to have way too many snaps. And honestly they should have blown Arizona State away. There are just some seriously unanswered questions on offense.

I consider myself a pretty diehard Texas fan and I feel great about this season as a whole. For as good as we've looked at times, we also have some glaring weaknesses that have repeated themselves numerous times this year.. so when those negative things happen, I'm genuinely not surprised at this point. You are who you are.. If I had to be disappointed about anything at this point though, it would just be our special teams as a whole. Lots of oversight by Jeff Banks and staff in the offseason, particularly at punter. And our kicker is literally spiraling in front of our eyes when we have a highly ranked backup behind him..Won't be surprised if we miss 3 kicks against OSU and loose by 4 or 5.

Watched the replay of hit on Bond after the interception. Definitely not targeting. Initial contact was arm and shoulder on upper chest. Close, but ref made right call - unlike hit on end of regulation. Horns got a gift.

ASU played the game like it was a Madden 25 tournament. They were not punting, were not kicking field goals, and the only way they could win was run 80 or more offensive plays. There is no reason why this ASU game can't do for us what the Michigan game did for OSU. Should be fun .

Those are the facts - just listen to all the sports commentators. If Texas plays like they have been they are going to get killed. lifelong UT fan ( born and raided in Texas), but went to ASU (scholarship and UT was WAY too expensive). I honesty thought the horns were going to destroy us (on paoer, Texas is better than 99% of teams), and i was shocked how easily we moved the ball against that Texas D, BUT, they were elite when it mattered. they almost played like they thought we would he intimidated or scared, and then all of a sudden thought "oh wait, we can destroy these guys" when their backs were against the wall. If they can play an entire game with that mentality (...we can destroy...), then no one can beat em

Not really to late kid is familiar with the plays and has shown he knows what to do. Wouldn't hurt to see TX implement some plays for him to see how OSUs D handles it. It's a risk like everything else but could be beneficial
This is what Texas does. They are the most talented underachieving team in college football. Have been for years. During the Mack years and now Sark's. They were outplayed and outcoached by ASU, but when Texas needed it they woke up and scored when they needed to. Thats just a testament to the talented roster they have. I don't look for it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't beat Ohio St. Just because that's what they do. They win games they're not supposed to and lose games they're not supposed too. Then they'll lose against either PSU or ND, because they'll be favored, because everyone will be back on the bandwagon.
I'm a Texas fan and I feel good about us against Ohio State. Of course feelings can change as the game gets closer. Lol. Honestly I felt good about Texas in every game this season. Sure sometimes you get nervous if it's a tight game but if you been watching Texas all season you know how that defense been coming through when the game is on the line. Even in the losses we had. Our defense made plays. That's what I trust. That's why I don't really worry too much about Texas. Offense can be shaky at times but can be deadly when Ewers has time. I don't know. I just have that feeling we gon come out on top January 10th. Not concerned about what we did last week or what Ohio State did last week. The only thing that matters is what happens on January 10th. It's about who plays the best football that day. That's how I look at it. This game means a lot to both teams. This isn't for a conference championship or for a tie breaker or whatever. ASU fan you’ll be fine and should feel good about the game as a whole. ASU was slept on virtually the entire year and got better as the year progressed Cinci we had no Leavitt and TTU was our first conference game away with a freshman we scored almost 100 points and allowed 26 points the last two games of the season. I think ASU was slept on due to the big12 although I find it wild we were ranked as the worst team to ever make the field. Go beat OSU routing for the horns due to the class your players showed to Skatt after the game. Almost your whole squad went up to him afterwards.
Also stop blaming Ewers for stuff ASUs defense is sneaky good our pass rush while lacking size is amazing and our starting CBs have under 200 yards and only 1 touchdown between the two all season. We pretty much shut down the only team with two 1000 yard receivers in ISU.
We won. We get to play another game. Every team left in the playoffs has lost at least one game so nobody is unbeatable. There isn't a '01 Hurricanes or a '95 Cornhuskers or an '05 Texas left in the field. It comes down to which imperfect team shows up. NU '96, USC '06 and Bama '23 show Texas has always been a team good enough to win any game in which it plays if the team steps up. I will take those chances.
How do I feel - worried. They will not beat OSU (that is firing on all cylinders) if they play like they have been. Ewers has to play great ALL 4 Qtrs and he hasn't shown that he can do that AT ALL. yeah Texas fan here. They lost to Georgia twice. Not that crazy. Georgia is good, but then Georgia loses to "cupcake" teams. Texas had Arizona State in the first half. Was at work so wasn't able to keep up. Thought they had it in the bag. Got home and people are talking about an overtime game. That is not good for Texas. I consider myself a pretty diehard Texas fan and I feel great about this season as a whole. For as good as we've looked at times, we also have some glaring weaknesses that have repeated themselves numerous times this year.. so when those negative things happen, I'm genuinely not surprised at this point. You are who you are.. If I had to be disappointed about anything at this point though, it would just be our special teams as a whole. Lots of oversight by Jeff Banks and staff in the offseason, particularly at punter. And our kicker is literally spiraling in front of our eyes when we have a highly ranked backup behind him..Won't be surprised if we miss 3 kicks against OSU and loose by 4 or 5.

Watched the replay of hit on Bond after the interception. Definitely not targeting. Initial contact was arm and shoulder on upper chest. Close, but ref made right call - unlike hit on end of regulation. Horns got a gift.

Or you could say that Texas answered the call every single time they had to without blinking. They played a team with nothing to lose and everything left on the table. ASU played the game like it was a Madden 25 tournament. They were not punting, were not kicking field goals, and the only way they could win was run 80 or more offensive plays. There is no reason why this ASU game can't do for us what the Michigan game did for OSU. Should be fun .

Those are the facts - just listen to all the sports commentators. If Texas plays like they have been they are going to get killed. The Offense has to play a great game all 4 qtrs and they have consistently shown that can't do it at all! Total UT fan here but I'm a realist - the offense has been struggling a long time and they better be ready to execute or they will get BEAT by 2 touchdowns at the least.

lifelong UT fan ( born and raided in Texas), but went to ASU (scholarship and UT was WAY too expensive). I honesty thought the horns were going to destroy us (on paoer, Texas is better than 99% of teams), and i was shocked how easily we moved the ball against that Texas D, BUT, they were elite when it mattered. they almost played like they thought we would he intimidated or scared, and then all of a sudden thought "oh wait, we can destroy these guys" when their backs were against the wall. If they can play an entire game with that mentality (...we can destroy...), then no one can beat em

Not really to late kid is familiar with the plays and has shown he knows what to do. Wouldn't hurt to see TX implement some plays for him to see how OSUs D handles it. It's a risk like everything else but could be beneficial

This is what Texas does. They are the most talented underachieving team in college football. Have been for years. During the Mack years and now Sark's. They were outplayed and outcoached by ASU, but when Texas needed it they woke up and scored when they needed to. Thats just a testament to the talented roster they have. I don't look for it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't beat Ohio St. Just because that's what they do. They win games they're not supposed to and lose games they're not supposed too. Then they'll lose against either PSU or ND, because they'll be favored, because everyone will be back on the bandwagon.
I'm a Texas fan and I feel good about us against Ohio State. Of course feelings can change as the game gets closer. Lol. Honestly I felt good about Texas in every game this season. Sure sometimes you get nervous if it's a tight game but if you been watching Texas all season you know how that defense been coming through when the game is on the line. Even in the losses we had. Our defense made plays. That's what I trust. That's why I don't really worry too much about Texas. Offense can be shaky at times but can be deadly when Ewers has time. I don't know. I just have that feeling we gon come out on top January 10th. Not concerned about what we did last week or what Ohio State did last week. The only thing that matters is what happens on January 10th. It's about who plays the best football that day. That's how I look at it. This game means a lot to both teams. This isn't for a conference championship or for a tie breaker or whatever. It's to play in the national championship. I like our chances regardless of what anybody says. LETS GO! 🤘

It’s perfect heading into OSU. We won our second round playoff game playing well for 1 quarter and 2 OT’s and went into magic mode when needed too. Sark will be coaching all coaches and players hard and they will be taking dead aim at OSU. Record Texas 2 osu 1 fyi

Anybody saying ASU played their best game hasn't seen them play a single game!! One blown coverage in the end zone and ASU would be playing instead of Texas.
So other than ONE play out of 170 total plays plus the kicking game ASU made ONE mistake. I would say that is about as good as any team can play. Y'all played the best you could play and Texas played their worst game of the year.
Sounds like total bullshit to me! I watched the game. ASU played out of their minds and when Texas had to they rose up and stop them. It wasn’t the refs. It wasn’t voodoo Texas scored when they had to and the Texas defense shut them down to win the gameASU had every opportunity to win that game and couldn’t pull it off.

But a one-man team will never beat a deep team like Texas, as long as you can stop one guy even for part of the game. Any team would’ve had trouble against Scatabo. How should a Texas fan feel? Well, from 2010-2022 were were losing those games in massive heartbreaks. Now we are winning them and competing in back to back seasons in the final four of the playoffs. ASU fan you’ll be fine and should feel good about the game as a whole. ASU was slept on virtually the entire year and got better as the year progressed Cinci we had no Leavitt and TTU was our first conference game away with a freshman we scored almost 100 points and allowed 26 points the last two games of the season. I think ASU was slept on due to the big12 although I find it wild we were ranked as the worst team to ever make the field. Go beat OSU routing for the horns due to the class your players showed to Skatt after the game. Almost your whole squad went up to him afterwards.
Also stop blaming Ewers for stuff ASUs defense is sneaky good our pass rush while lacking size is amazing and our starting CBs have under 200 yards and only 1 touchdown between the two all season. We pretty much shut down the only team with two 1000 yard receivers in ISU.
We won. We get to play another game. Every team left in the playoffs has lost at least one game so nobody is unbeatable. There isn't a '01 Hurricanes or a '95 Cornhuskers or an '05 Texas left in the field. It comes down to which imperfect team shows up. NU '96, USC '06 and Bama '23 show Texas has always been a team good enough to win any game in which it plays if the team steps up. I will take those chances.
How do I feel - worried. They will not beat OSU (that is firing on all cylinders) if they play like they have been. Ewers has to play great ALL 4 Qtrs and he hasn't shown that he can do that AT ALL. He is not versatile and needs to have great protection from the OL. Sark needs to have a "Come to Buddha" meeting with the Offense - that sucks considering the talent they have. The offense owes the defense a steak dinner every day. I have always said that Manninig should have stayed the starter since Ewers was out - he can run and he's versatile (key word here folks - versatile). I feel they would not have even been in OT if Manning was in and had been starting all along. Sark has to get on the offense and say it's in their hands - "if you want it - go and execute all 4 quarters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help and support your brothers on Defense!!!!!" Ok, I don't want to hear from any QE lovers - enough of that!

yeah Texas fan here. They lost to Georgia twice. Not that crazy. Georgia is good, but then Georgia loses to "cupcake" teams. Texas had Arizona State in the first half. Was at work so wasn't able to keep up. Thought they had it in the bag. Got home and people are talking about an overtime game. That is not good for Texas. And yeah, they have Ohio State and don't think they are going to make it past OSU.

Well there was a no call on Bond and it is a penalty to pull you RB into the end zone which ASU did so really it was more of the refs “letting” them play rather than a “game changing” no call. Y’all need to quit yapping.
