    I am really sorry to say that, but the video would have been much nicer without the music. At some times the music is way too loud so that I could not understand what u were saying. (Not a native speaker). The video itself is really cool. U did a great job with the van. I really like it a lot! 😊

      Hi Jana,I do apologies for this. It was early days learning how to edit. Flo has changed a lot since this too so a new video is on its way with a lot more control on the volume.
      Thanks again for your feedback.

    You are very brave converting an ex emergency front line ambulance to a Campervan, I work for the ambulance service and know how they are driven, (Very hard from second 1) the service squeeze every bit of life out of them b4 they are de- commissioned. I really hope you have got a good one that’s not got over 300000 miles on the clock!! If it has I hope you have a health bank balance cos you are going to need it repairing it in the future, I wish you the best of luck & keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞

      Yep, she's a goodun. The mechanic who worked on her said we lucked out on her. She's clean and really well looked after. She's at 220k never missed a beat as they say.

    • @tonyleech7211
      @tonyleech7211 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow! That’s a rare one at that mileage, like I said ours have at least 300000k on them, our Mercedes sprinters have 500000k and still on frontline duties.i hope you both have lots of trouble free adventures in her, I will look out for you when I’m on my adventures, I have am ex patient transport ambulance that I have converted myself as it was never on emergency duties. All NHS ambulances get a FULL service & safety check every 6 weeks, I have to say they are really looked after when in service.

      Thanks Jason. Yeah its a total pain but I had to do a HGV theory test followed by a series of HGV lessons in a MWB 5T van (easy to drive) and then finally a long drive with an examiner. I used these guys to help me do eptraining.co.uk. Good luck! Its a useful upgrade regardless.

    Hey there! great video thanks for making it! I am in the process of becoming a vanlifer myself. I am quite at the beginning of the road so I am trying to decide on what van to buy. I have a couple of questions for you: 1. Would you recommend that ambulance? I noticed they are quite affordable so it's very tempting! also what's the actual interior width? you mentioned 6 foot for the bed, is that the max? 2. are you travelling through Europe as well? if you do, wouldn't you prefer a left hand side steering wheel? Thanks again!

    • @vanlifeeats
      @vanlifeeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for watching. Our ambulance has been great! Well looked after and good insulation (although we added more) and it is full of goodies like the eberspacher heater. However there are a lot of complications with ambulances. The tax class has been tricky to change, the body type has had to change and has again proved difficult with the DVLA. Also they are over 3.5T so you may need to upgrade your license as I did.
      I'd recommend an ambulance if you have time and patience to go through the mods. And yeah 6ft length maximum. Good luck! Message if we can help.

      Yeah mines c1 license because of the extra weight. Check the V5 and see what it weighs.

    You have a lovely van conversion. I like the yellow colors, layout, and decor, very nicely done.
    I would have left the bathroom in favor of the 2nd bed though. Especially if you take kids with you. They get messy and need potty time.
    A couple of video tips:
    1. Turn music off. Silence is golden. My ears are hurting from trying to hear your voices over the loud music. We want to focus on what you are saying. Music is distracting, a very personal choice, and annoying in a demo or tour. There is an assumption that we will like your choice of music as well.
    2. Show the van not the person. Pan the camera on the van details being talked about for 85% of time, not on the person speaking. We are here to see the van details, and not a person speaking. We can hear the words just fine.
    For the female half of this tour:
    This is your van too. Why do you defer all technical details to your male partner? This happens all too often in van tours and in life. Women who came before you, fought hard for your freedom to choose your destiny - to smoke, to drink, to make love outside marriage without being a social outcast, to have a child out of wedlock without being an outcast, for the right to vote, the right to equal pay, the right to own a car and drive it, for the right not to have a coathanger back alley abortion, the right to not be raped and be told its your fault, the right not to be considered the property of your husband, the right to work! And these freedoms come with responsibility. Such as knowing your own vehicle, to stop depending on male authority to guide you through life. If you don't exercise your freedoms and responsibilities to your gender and to yourself, they will atrophy and be eroded. Assert yourself by learning about technical things and speaking about them on camera. Redo this tour and take over all the technical stuff just to see if you are equal to the task. You should know how it works, and be able to put in a whole system by yourself - that level of expertise. You have a brain just like him. Use it. Your gender differences do not prevent you from using your brain. Ultimately, it is an attitude. Either you empower yourself and gain the respect of everyone including your partner, or you give away your power for lack of faith in yourself. That is just sad to see. Women are very capable. But we cannot ask for equal pay if we are not equal to the task. This is no reflection on men. I like men. But I also will not be a liability to myself and go through life being afraid to tackle tough things, and palm it off on a man.

      Hi, thank you so much for constructive feedback. We will take some of your points on in the future. While I appreciate your feedback about female rights and independence I would just like to you know that Mark fully appreciates me as do others around me, I am certainly not lacking there. I work as a Therapeutic Radiographer within a busy department within the NHS, a job that required a 3 year degree and has resulted in me having a BSc with honours in this area so please don't think I can not fumble my way through technical systems and machines, I work with them daily. The reason I have chosen not to speak about them in the video is because that is an area Mark worked very hard on and he is proud of it, it is also an area I have little interest in so choose not to speak about it. We will take note of the comments about the music for future videos. Thank you for taking the time to watch our video and comment on it. Take care

      @@vanlifeeats Fair enough. Its your choice of course. Its just that EVERY van life video I see, the women never speak or know anything about the systems which is very disheartening. Glad you are doing well in your career! Wish you the best!
