Here is the scene from Samurai Jack Season 1 Episode 7 were he discovers what prevents him to advance to the tower in front of him and what... those are capable of.
I love how Jack's first plan is to blind the archers with the glare from his sword, expecting that to work against enemies that need visual confirmation. It's only after that fails that he realizes they attack on sound cues.
To add to my comment earlier, the fact they Jack stopped and wanted to find out how they are hitting everything speaks highly on his intelligence and patience, where every other warrior who just charges without a single thought of how those archers work.
Yeah, I love this episode. I feel like Genndy is a genius of visual storytelling. There's also an episode of Dexter's Lab where there are exactly two lines of spoken dialogue at the very end of a cartoon about going to the store to replace a lightbulb. Even as a kid it was such a strange and fascinating trip that it has stuck out in my head nearly 30 years later.
I like how Genndy kinda made the episode feel like Three blind mice, the three archers are blind and are trying to avoid Jack, which is similar ot the entire nursery rhyme
As a kid, those archers used to creep me out so much, usually eyes don't disturb me, but knowing they were blind just made it feel more uneasy for me that their eyes we're basically white circles and nothing else, then adding the shape of their face and the ears
This has to be one of the most intense eps of the series and at the end, it also showcases how Noble Jack is, thou you can understand his frustation and anger in that one moment, he was so close to achiving his goal, yet so far!
Dammm... Such simple concept, simple design but what an episode. Tells a story, show problem solving without a single word. This show actually made you think.
Show, don't tell most other cartoons would have inner monologues about "A-HA! I will try to blind them because they have to see where I am, but if they can't see me, they can't aim" or "oh no it didn't work, what is their secret?" and the obligatory "they are fast" Love it when media is demanding on the viewer's part, but being immersed and invested pays off a lot
I was wondering before where the archers are getting so many arrows, I didn't see them wearing quivers. I realise that the magic well is likely producing an endless supply of arrows.
Sometimes I always wondered, Was the well a creation of aku? The show never said where it came from but I like to think it was a trap set by him to trick Jack into becoming his slave.
If you pay attention and I noticed this, during a rewatch. There are clues as to the Archers' condition before the Big reveal, like when Jack's sleeve move or when he put his sword back in the scabard.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV
He split his toes to dodge the arrows instead of just moving his whole foot. Bad ass 😂
Gotta do a show off.
Totally 😂😂😂

I always appreciated just how SMART Jack was, rarely if ever had brute force been his way of solving problems or battles
he might have thought they had sunglasses on at first
Unlike that Naruto shit where they over-explain everything.
I mean when you first face an archer, the last thing on your list is that they are blind.

30 YEARS OLD AND STILL WATCHING THIS SCENE IN 2023
I always like how Jack fought real ass bosses and through deduction and true problem solving he was able to beat them

@@renatocellobr Had to look it up because it's been forever since I saw it. The first half of Season 2 Episode 32, "DiM".
@@EndFright Thanks End!

I really wonder if kids today have the attention span how this type of content.
God this show was so unique. I love the animation. Sometimes it was so simple yet conveyed so much and sometimes it was very detailed. It was great

Very nice analogy :)
More them 10 minutes without Dialogue, that sure is gutsy.
Same guy made primal

I came back to see the serie again, and It sure is. Is a gem ✨
Jack overcame a lot of different enemies and was very smart in combat.
I think this is the BEST episode of the show, hand down.

This Samurai Jack episode really has a lot to do with TF2 too. You know, the bots are the archers, and the soldier is the samurai.
And hats
I wish I could split my toes like that.

3 blind archers but they look like mice…I hope some of you know where I’m going with this
This is the coolest and most memorable episode for me from Samurai Jack.
Me too.. it’s fascinating

@@Darth234Ravenous In season 5 the archers say it was put there by Alku.
The music in this one is legendary 🙌
I remember watching this episode 13 years ago :)
Al principio no lo entendí, pero me di cuenta que estos enemigos no tenían pupilas, por tanto, no podían ver, sí que, usaron el sentido del oído.
The best show in history.
I loved this scene
I had nightmares about these guys for months.
Jack to the Jack ! Samurai Jack !
Am 25 years old and i am still waiting for samurai jack to escape the underworld

I like Jack’s hat, like to have something like it.
