This is perhaps one of the most iconic moments of the series and what really made it stand out from other cartoons at the time. The episodes preceding it followed this same formula, but this one really took it to a whole new level with showing Jack listening to the individual sounds and then bringing them together, and then using that same emphasis on sound in the battle as he makes his way to the tower. The sound direction was simply amazing in this episode
This was one of those few cartoons that was really amazing and was masterfully done. It’s not just a bunch of humor or bad writing or basic action. There’s beauty and genius and long periods of time where there’s no dialogue but the story is still being told. Hell, the beginning of the whole series started with several minutes of no dialogue, and it was amazing. Even Phil Lamar said how he was shocked with how long there was no dialogue and how great the show was. This and Avatar: The Last Airbender are possibly the two best cartoon shows ever made.
Samurai Jack is an incredibly complex and meaningful show. Most people feel a connection to it, not just because of the surface level entertainment value and the beautiful animation, but because on the deeper level it is essentially a compilation of parables and life lessons. Much like Greek mythology or ancient oral traditions. This type of storytelling is engrained in our DNA.
If you watched the episode, these three managed to destroy an entire army of robots. None of the robots managed to even get near their tower. If Jack had used a shield here, he would have been overwhelmed.
4:24 the more I watch the show as i get older the more I notice the amount of attention to detail in this show has... Knotice how the arrow has a slit. Real arrows have this to let it sit nicely on the bows string to allow for a more accurate shot, same with the feathers. Amazing attention to detail.
An amazing show and what is arguably their most amazing scene. Using little dialogue they tell you soo much with the sounds and visuals. A master class.
who sees the arrows passing within hairs of each other only to find the other assassin's jugulars. or Jack striking in the moment the ping of the splintering arrow heads distracts the archers enough to be relieved of their blindness for Ever.
Imagine a live action remake of this?! I remember being a kid watching this episode and was in complete awe. Hands down the best cartoon scene ever created.
the music is right alongside the animation and colors of this show for all these moments.. the change in tone at 3:37 has this dissonant, almost mechanical blindness to it, like its trying to zero in on Jack's location.. it's super fuckin' cool~
0:11 I though they're the same deer couple that Ashi and Aku's daughters saw in the forest but they cant be because "50 years have passed" between this and season 5.
The first part of the episode shows them decimating an entire mechanical army. Only their leader, who hung back, survives the slaughter. This is how Jack learns of them and the magic wishing well that they guard. Jack attempts to enter the clearing but is quickly pinned by their arrows and narrowly escapes with his life. That leads into him reminiscing on his past training to figure out what to do, and the rest you can see in this video.
It wasn't until Gennedy featured the entire final season on Adult Swim. I guess along with that the rights of the show were now transferred from CN to Adult Swim but that is just a guess.
He said he wanted to fight them at their level which means like a blind man and only wanted to rely on his senses in order to beat them. Since he had to dodge and evade the arrows, sensing and keeping his eyes closed could have been difficult so he decided to to cover his eyes so that his eyes remained closed automatically and he can concentrate on his senses only....:)
The last season made a mockery of the series imo. Its nuanced adult themes or whatever they were going for just didn't result in a good story. It's like they forgot all the things jack experienced along the way such as encounters with actual gods and shit.

itakru Another really good one in this vein is the one against the ninja. Stunning visuals.
Actually ninja scene also iconic
The ending where Jack destroys the pool is one of the best. It shows you how noble and pure he is to not succumb to evil or corruption.
A thousand words spoken in so little words. Such a simple and amazing tale. Such a good series
True
Completely agree.
so it wasn’t a thousand words?
Great*
A thousand likes earned in so little words

The serenity and intrigue of Samurai Jack is so rare to find in pretty much any TV show is appalling
Mehrab's Adventures well every other show isn’t made by genndy tartakovsky
NO show did show-don't-tell better than Samurai Jack.
This show was the genius of art.
A shield would have worked, but this way is cooler
The first minutes of the episode is nothing but an army of robot getting wrecked by thoses arrows. A shield wouldn't have helped.
@@slynthehedgehog8061 ofcourse a strong shield would have helped...
@@slynthehedgehog8061 maybe a shield thick enough? idk
Eat your cereal
If you watched the episode, these three managed to destroy an entire army of robots. None of the robots managed to even get near their tower. If Jack had used a shield here, he would have been overwhelmed.
Trained by the greatest warriors of the Earth in the first episode... And trained by the weirdest people of Aku's future during the series.
3 blind mice, nice twist. This is just a jem of animation.
I mean the whole series.

You know as a kid the archers would freak the absolute shit out of me
An amazing show and what is arguably their most amazing scene.
Using little dialogue they tell you soo much with the sounds and visuals. A master class.
And not just out of necessity. Jack sought to face the Archers on an equal battlefield.
Tartakovsky Genius.
who sees the arrows passing within hairs of each other only to find the other assassin's jugulars. or Jack striking in the moment the ping of the splintering arrow heads distracts the archers enough to be relieved of their blindness for Ever.
If you are a fan of this, you must watch PRIMAL.
Where can we get full episodes
Sad ending
@@tastytaist9916 which one?
Too short 😔
@@tonygriego6382 Heh, true.
I love samurai jack cause it’s so mysterious and just the plot is so good
And the animation was top notch given the shows budget.
Its a shame the final season ending was so shit
Jack said" I MUST FIGHT ON THEIR LEVEL " words of a ledgen and guru
I'm always amazed how good this show is.
0:11 Did You Do A 1 Frame Standing Dear Right There Or Did The Animation Glitched...?
Also, the snow footprints on the second deer clip in front of a tree

Man, the storyboards for this must be amazing
This and the shinobi fight is one of the best fight in cartoon. Damn, i want more this kind of cartoon
If you used your eyes to watch this clip then you missed the entire point.
The blind scene was actually kind of satisfying
Who else remembers this show being on cartoon network.
At 0:15 the deer’s tracks go over the tree
Samurai Jack did ASMR before it was a thing
Unlike most Cartoons on Cartoon Network nowadays that are mostly by the book, this show was Art. Pure intriguing delicate art
*JACK MURDOCK*
Imagine a live action remake of this?! I remember being a kid watching this episode and was in complete awe. Hands down the best cartoon scene ever created.
There is no way they could do a live action of this and do it justice.
Thanks for the ASMR!
The fire rate of the bow is ridiculous
3:15 is wen my heart beats like crazy wen I was a kid and 3:35 wen they started searching was cool
the music is right alongside the animation and colors of this show for all these moments.. the change in tone at 3:37 has this dissonant, almost mechanical blindness to it, like its trying to zero in on Jack's location.. it's super fuckin' cool~
This is smart because eliminating your sight would only enhance your hearing ability
Kids today will never know cartoons that were so goddamn cool..
I mean we can always go back and watch them lol
That says more about us than it does them.
I remember this wasn’t on adult swim, it was on the Cartoon Network on the day not night
Ah, those were the days. Now there’s nothing but ttg and unikitty
What's the best way to fight three blind people? Oh yeah by being blind
Action and art both in the same package
Wow. Just wow. I don’t know how I’ve slept on Jack but I need to get around it

Upload the complete episode why clips are uploaded which are not useful
0:11 I though they're the same deer couple that Ashi and Aku's daughters saw in the forest but they cant be because "50 years have passed" between this and season 5.
So no one is gonna talk about how jack is such a good martial artist that he can sense/hear individual snowflakes falling and breaking.
Well I'm more amazed that he can separate/isolate sounds from each other. I wonder
Art work
Nice, unlimited ammo..

Take notes Butch Hartman from Gennedy. This how you make a cartoon a head of it's time and make it seem like a literal art peice with life.
Cough cough Danny phantom
This scene would have been just as awesome without music

Either they really suck or Jack is really that good!

They destroyed an entire robot army at the start of the episode. Definitely not their fault.
Hell yeah
Primal Go is the Season 5 of Star vs. the Forces of Evil.
Super animation...wow
This show was on Cartoon network first
Adult Swim is part of Cartoon Network.
I don't get your point. This is a TH-cam channel for Adult Swim, which is on Cartoon Network.
yea, duh
Wow what a good fact 🙄
Wait dis show was adult swim?
Only the last season, every season before it was Cartoon Network
I never knew this show was from adult swim
It wasn't until Gennedy featured the entire final season on Adult Swim. I guess along with that the rights of the show were now transferred from CN to Adult Swim but that is just a guess.
When i was a kid i couldnt understand why he covered his eyes, and i dont understand to this day
Because the eyes can fool you. The archers used their hearing and as Jack LITERALLY said in the start "I must fight on their level".
To heighten his hearing(other senses)
He said he wanted to fight them at their level which means like a blind man and only wanted to rely on his senses in order to beat them. Since he had to dodge and evade the arrows, sensing and keeping his eyes closed could have been difficult so he decided to to cover his eyes so that his eyes remained closed automatically and he can concentrate on his senses only....:)
Genndy is the George RR Martin of animation.
This is art
Which episode is that?
lol., just smell him out.
This is how I dodge baby mama drama
try watching this video with background music from league of legends
Wait it will not be a cartoon network cartoon
