  • Delco Multec HSFI 2.1 ECU (Opel_Vauxhall_VectraB Z16XE_1.6_16V_2001.)
    part number 09391340
P0230-04 (Fuel Pump Relay Voltage Low)
P1122-02 (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 2 Voltage Low)
P1550-0A (Limp Home - Electronic Throttle Control Limited Performance)
This ECU is partly functional, repaired once for the same thing and is now repeating the second time.
Those fault codes shows after some 20 minutes of engine running (heat factor), but none of the mentioned components isn't corrupt (tested independently) and the problem is in the ECU itself, and because that logged fault codes isn't true.
All suggests that some of the components or joint between them on circuit board have cold solder joint.
That's why I opened it to see how look electronic circuit board inside.
Visually all components looks good except joint pins of one of the connectors where it can be seen that it has been serviced before (soldered).
Probably this is the problem also now.

Do you have pinout this ECU?

If you get a refurbish one do you have to reprogram it? and if yes where do you bring the car? because usually the regular mechanics don't do that right?
    Thank you in advance

      I bought ECU here:
      ecustogo.co.uk/
...they just need VIN number. You get refubrished ECU, 2 transponder chips and ECU immobilizer unit. It's plug&play: th-cam.com/video/MhMsoaGyFyw/w-d-xo.html

hi can this resolve the problem with p0115 and p0180?

Hard to tell...every code error last instance is ECU. First is needed to test all components (sensors) and wiring in the problematic circuits.

So did you find the problem finally? Did you fix it? I am interested as I experience the same problem - with the fuel pump and I will open the ECU to see in what a condition it is. So your video is helpful, but you didn't show the solution. Also what kind of glue do you use for the cover? Thanks

I bought refurbished ECU from UK and work fine until now. My from these video is ok but those tiny wires from motherboard to connector pins inside you can't simply fix it for long term with simple soldering. Some expert knowledge and tools is needing.

@@fire2hr Thank you for the reply. I am still wondering if it is possible to be fixed for long term. A man who offers such repairs claims that he has a technology to bond the wires forever. But he doesn't want to share his know how if it is true.
And the price he wants is about 260 Eur which is expensive I think.
I think it is very important after repairing the wires - may be by soldering at least at 380 degrees Celsius, maybe by gluing with an electrical conductive glue, everything to be potted again with a special gelatinous compound. This is because this device works under high mechanical stress and vibrations as well as high temperature. And the gel helps to keep wires to stay whole.
If you put a hard compound it could easily tear the wires.
And once thing more against soldering - it could be easily crack when stressed by vibrations and also the tin alloy could be destroyed by extremely low temperatures in winter.
EDIT: After some reading, I think the best way is wedge bonding (ultrasonic) with aluiminium wires and again potting with gel. However it is almost impossible to find such equipment.

I think any "home soldering repairs" will work ok for short time maybe but real good work is ultrasonic bonding and that's costly.
      Check this link:
"In this process the protective gel will first be removed professionally. Once all components are completely unprotected, we can begin with the removal of all existing bonding wires. This is a very delicate process, but this isn’t an issue thanks to our many years of experience. Once this second step is completed, all new bonding wires will be attached to the PCB using highly sophisticated equipment. The method we use is called “ultrasonic bonding”. The equipment is fully programmed and set up by our engineers and because of this we can also perform a pull test on the freshly installed bonding wires. This way we know for sure every new attachment is strong enough to withstand vibrations and fluctuations in temperatures. The newly made connections are even stronger than the original ones."

Using robots for ultrasonic bonding is a real deal:

@@fire2hr Well, yes, I agree that it is much better the unit to be sent to these guys for repair, however they don't offer service to private individuals like me.
Would you please let me know how much do they charge for the repair, at least approximate price?
      Thank you for the information.
