Great to see you out and about John. I have a French canteen that was gifted to me when an old friend passed. He kept it in his refrigerator full of water. He also had a Swedish Army M40 mess kit which I have also. Take care and God bless you and your family.
I'm adopting you as my American cousin, I also have a ridiculous amount of Army Surplus from almost every nation & I also have to use it all & not just look at it! Greetings from a pish wet Scotland!
Great to see you back John!! That mess kit looks interesting and breakfast burrito looks good. I really liked that Mc D’s picante sauce. Stay cool and hydrated and take care.
Good seeing ya John. My brother lives down in Florida. That heat makes me glad I come down in the fall lol Those French mess kits always looked really nice. I've been using the polish one for while. Might need to get one of those. I like the old Czech ones a lot too. I gave my nephew that one.
It's great to see another mess kit video. You got me into buying mess kits from around the world. 😅 The French cooking kit is one I'm missing. I have a British and Dutch version, and i have that French paratrooper canteen & cup.
Never too much cheese!🧀😉😎👍🏻 Your breakfast looked very good. I have one of the Danish??? Sets I believe. I've used it a few times. I've actually have been wanting to attempt to make a lasagna in for awhile. I also received a stainless steel Japanese style mess tin last Christmas, which I haven't used yet. Hopefully, things will slow down for me and cool off a bit and be able to get out and cook something up. Good to see ya back. Thanks for sharing.
So good to see you back, missed you, also have the French cook kit love it…..would like to see the US bring something to the market other than what we already have…
Kinda funny that lid fits the French cup, but won't fit several of my USGI canteen cups. I have 40s, 50s, 80s and the only USGI cup the lid will fit is a 1963 issue. Otherwise it's great to see you back.
Hello John depending on wether you want to avoid burnt fingers or maintain 100% authenticity try wrapping your canteen cup handles with 'self amalgamating plumbers tape' this is silicone based has to be applied under tension but allowed to rest after application will set and provide a certain amount of heat resistance Or buy a pack of Silicone drinking straws and depending if you can spring the handles free or not there are ways to cover the metal sometimes a little sideways thinking is required

Great video John. Nice gear and awesome cooking. Greetings from a new subscriber from Indonesia
Yay, you're back!
Just a wee tip.rib some wash up liquids on your base on the mess tins. After cooking just wipe clean. No sticky smoke stains.
