- Karen and I venture out an hour south of Johannesburg, and spend the morning driving through the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve. A 134 square kilometre protected area, Suikerbosrand is one of Gauteng’s most frequented ecotourism destinations - boasting a range of highveld flora and fauna that are found at altitudes ranging from 1500m to 1900m above sea level. We come across a number of Zebra, Red Hartebeest, Common Eland, Black Wildebeest, a few Baboons and even a Kudu or two on our drive through the reserve. Join us for a chilled morning in this Highveld grassland biome.
Thank you for sharing, greetings from the UK.
Thanks Louise - hope all good with you.
great stuff as always -well done G
Thanks Larry 👍🏼😉
Lovely video, typical winter scenery in the high veld. Your music brings such a rustic atmosphere to it, love to listen to it.
Thank you for sharing and greetings from Germany.
When do you plan a trip to the KP?
Thank you Werner - yes, typical grassy highveld nature reserve. Another month and the green grasses and cosmos flowers should be in full swing. No plans for KP just yet - but always looking for an opportunity to find a gap.
