Im just wondering if the fan is 12volt and to test it you can run negative and positive, why not y in run a live wire from the battery and as the fan works of the earth on the temp sensor, then y into the black wire coming from the sensor to a button then to the fan, bypassing the relay. Just turn on the button when you start and as soon as the sensor connects to earth, then the fan will come on. The original wireing will still be live for the ecu and overheating warning light may come on if all else fails.Just a thought.ps you could even fuse the live wire for safety.
I have a 2006 honda rancher I changed out the oil sensor unit an the fan still don't come on. But can ground the wire from the sensor an the fan works. So it's something else

Bad sensor ! It’s a problem with cheap Chinese parts ! Try different supplier or buy OEM it will work ! 👍
Where is the unit at on the 4 wheeler
@@carlsullivan6377 for my year late 90's early 00's the fan CDI was under the front plastic by the steering above the fan.
