Here is how you remove the 3rd light brake, is very simple you need just a wide plastic tool Here is what removal tools i use :

I have a Polo 6C and it’s the exact same part. I was able to do it with three credit cards instead of this tool. It’s a bit fiddly, but it can be done. Putting it back together with the newer part was arguably harder, you have to really push it to get the clips to snap into place
Thanks a lot for this tip how to remove this part. On my Tiguan the back small water nozzle was broken, maybe from snow cleaning. Now I can order and change it on my own. Thank you
Guys it need push down to unclip the clips , it's very important when you don't have this type of tool .
Hello, how to remove the third brake lamp in a Skoda Fabia III, it's just like in the Polo and you need these paws to press it in.

Do you know if this upper brake light stops working if ground connection in C-pillar/boot on left side is faulty?
Or this is a separate circuit?
Have you once removed the trim in the boot on the left side to get to ground connection?
I have a Polo 2015 with probably just that ground connection fault.
Any advice is appreciated how to get to it and fix it.

@@plugsocket7434 After I changed the cable harness that goes to rear wiper, third brake light, rear boot opener etc, everything worked again.
It is a spare part with part number 6C6 971 145 (and letter A, B or C depending on options).
It was a little tricky to do, but with help we managed to replace the cable harness.

What do you do if you have a 2017 POLO VIVO GTS and it's got the factory standard spoiler over the actual bootlid? Vw dealeship said they needed remove oem spoiler in order to replace the light the idiot cracked my spoiler and just stuck the spoiler back I'm assuming with sika flex. What douche bags damaged my car. Never will go back to them!!!!!
