Thanks a ton for the Bird Plug. I've been using the 5V to 9V converter cables you find on Amazon, etc., and then plugging that into a polarity converter that gives a center negative 9V plug for the pedal. It works, but I've ended up with several feet of unnecessary cable hanging around my little pedal board. This solves that problem with a single, short cable. Thanks!!
Magnetic slide is cool. Currently i have a slide that i made from an old, broken part of the bicycle, and it turned out to be the best slide i’ve ever used in terms of weight and overall playability.
One of the more interesting guitar gadgets I saw at Summer NAMM 2018 was the Tru-V Volume Tremolo. This is a retrofit whammy bar, and accompanying electronics, for any Strat type guitar vibrato system. It doesn't change anything about the up-down pitch-bending aspects of the standard vibrato bridge, but adds volume manipulation via movement of the bar on the other axis, as the arm is moved toward, or away from, the guitar knobs. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to combine pitch and volume for pedal-steel effects. Not cheap, of course, but a well-designed gadget that can expand one's expressive toolkit.
The new SoundBrenner has a tuner that has a magnet to attach to your guitar tuners, a metronome, and a built-in decibel meter. The new version called Core is AMAZING!
This bird cord really changes Everything about the way we power pedals! It's so cheap one could get some cheap powerbanks and power an entire pedal board for a long time! And its rechargeable! I'd say this is a better solution than buying separate pedal psus as you can use regular cellphone chargers too, though it may induce noise
Bought the Strum buddy based on this review. Does what it says and is great IF it will stick on the guitar.. I’ve tested on my guitars and works well on 1. American standard Strat Alder body polyurethane finish 2. JTV 69 variax- Alder body polyurethane finish. 3. ESP LTD m100fm - basswood body flamed maple top 4. Maton m225 acoustic - Solid Sitka spruce. WILL NOT STICK to the following for longer than 1min. 1. PRS S2 Singlecut- Mahogany body Satin Nitro finish. 2. Schecter Demon 6 - Basswood Aged Satin finish. 3. Ibanez rgew521zc - Ziricote body natural finish 4. Epiphone Les Paul Vintage Ed - poplar body worn walnut finish I’d also be wary if your guitar is contoured as it may be difficult to find a place for it Their instructions of putting it on a pick guard (if it has one) works but it is impossible to strum as it’s in the way. You could use it to noodle on solos OK but it’s not a ‘strum’ buddy. Different pickups give different outputs. My Strat single coils are way quieter than the Schecter active pickups. Still a nice volume though. My PRS humbuckers emit a continuous buzz. Really like the thing overall and is great for sitting on the porch. I’d really make sure it suits your guitar’s body and finish
Strum Buddy seems like a fun little gadget maybe- don't think I would stick it to my guitar, probably just clip it on my belt or something but- I might check one out, if they're cheap. The Bluetooth thingy that allowed you to stream music over your amp- now that would actually be useful for a lot of ppl I think. So would the power supply deal for your pedals- nice back up for someone gigging. Just in case your power supply takes a shit on you- just pop out your battery and hook it up. You would need a daisy chain though- so you could connect more than one pedal at a time. Thanks for the heads-up man- good vid.
I have the Roland street cube EX and absolutely LOVE it, its the largest version they make and is 50 watts, I have played and sang through it for small venues and it was stellar at it. I always use rechargeable AA batteries and it has great power and battery life as well. I had the regular street cube but its more for electric guitar, where as the larger one can do just about anything including running their app. Great little amps, and the EX is actually great for playing actual money paying shows lol
I saw it before you had to re upload. I noticed you had put it up again and so I watched it twice. I just like the way you explain everything. Nothing like a guy that's good at his job. Have a great day Phillip :D
iremanguitars that’s weird I’ve owned both and have had no problems. Sounds great dirty and clean very impressive for 5inch speaker it’s really the 1st amp to do it. The 2nd gen cube is even better
Dude just like to say thanks I learned alot from ur vids, built my first guitar recently, it came out awesome but I think I over heated the volume control, cuase when it's turned to *zero, u can still hear when you play, I didn't think I over did it with the solder but I dunno, I can live with it until I get a new pot. If u want a pic I send one. Maple body mahogany neck locking tuners and Gibson burstbucker in the bridge, (custom shop) and duncun jazz in the neck.
You can also just plug an auxiliary cord into your phone, then into your aux-in on your amp, and play music. No bluetooth, no disconnect, no delay in the music. I do it every single day.
Ahah.. the video was not working for me on my Android phone. I guess it was a cross platforms issue. Anyway great video as usual Phil. PS long time ago you made a video of the Blackstar Fly 3. I bought this little amp and I find it way better than the Katana mini (the Katana mini has a really plastic boxi sound to me and I am a huge Boss fan), but it seems that every major youtuber is pushing the Katana. It would be great to have your opinion on this as it seems that only you or the Tone King could really give an unbiased and honest review on this
That power bank is probably 3500mAh, which is a measure of capacity, not 3500mA of output current. The Birdcord is rated at 1000mA peak current, and it's probably just a cheap boost converter capable of much less than that sort of output current given its size. You can get more capable boost converters from ebay for a few cents each
So you can controle the volume on the strum buddy with your guitars volume nob? Because i want to get this thing to help my accoustic when i play finger style at festivles.
Hey Phil, love your channel. I know that guitar pedals say they have a true bypass, but when I plug in a pedal versus just plugging into the amp and the effect pedal is off the sound is different than the sound if I plugged the guitar straight into the amp. Are there any pedals that don't alter the sound when doing this? I love the sound of the Marshall amp and it seem to be not as full when doing this, I have tried numerous pedals and all do the same thing. Or would my route have to be to get the amp modded by a tech to get the extra level of distortion I want.
Please philip, they are the first to make cable free pedal board, but it only works on their pedals, please philip, your thoughts would be much appreciated
Really like the BirDCord BUT try to find it so far in the US.. Anyone find it let us know...Goodbye Volto...everyone has a few of those cell phone emergency chargers..TY Philip !!!
Phil was making stuff up when he said that. The Bird Cord is rated 850 mA max load. Those battery packs are usually rated 1000 mA max, although some of the more expensive ones are as high as 2500... the cord itself won't output that much. Also, the battery is rated at 5V, so you get about half the current at 9V... I wouldn't try to draw more than 500 mA with one battery, which is about 8 or 9 average pedals.
Why couldnt you just hook your phone up to the amp in the same way I get it not tethered to the amp but its not like it is imposible with out the blue tooth
Dude even as recorded that amp sounds too clear. Is it like that for real? I've tried many mini amps and never bought a single one as they sound awful.
That bird plug is a great idea. The rest of this stuff reminds me of trying to cobble together stuff when I was a kid.
How can you not stick the StrumBuddy to your head? I'm always finding new ways to use my noggin.
Thanks a ton for the Bird Plug. Those are some cool gadgets that I wasn’t aware of. It amazes me what unique products are offered due to newer technologies and innovative ideas.
the video always feels special with phil brings out his #1 guitar
Love that SlideWinder - goes good with Banjo too!

Love the little stick on amp, now if they'd just do a tube version ...
LOL
A man who got the respect of every guitar player in the world ..thank you for the good content

Clip it to your belt and call it a day dude.
Thank you for doing this. As someone that has zero musical talent but loves music, it's awesome to see what is out there for gear.

Hi! Billy Mays here!
Thank you so much, as usual Phillip, after watching almost anything you do I have a 100 new ideas ... epiphany!
Great tip on the USB cord for cell phone batteries to power some pedals.
I love the blue tooth device. Thanks

I see that PRS CE24 reclaimed wood gem in the background 😎
Damn Phillip. I like that Strat.
Can't wait for that Hughes and Kettner review!
It would be nice if you can put the list of every accessory you mentioned.thanks
I always watch your videos, good stuff 🤠 I'm gonna get one of those slides 🎵🎶. Jam on 🎶
I saw it before you had to re upload. I noticed you had put it up again and so I watched it twice. I just like the way you explain everything. Nothing like a guy that's good at his job. Have a great day Phillip :D
The speaker on the Roland cube royally BLOWS and doesn't last long!!! Get yourself a battery powered JC 120! Big and bulky but the sound is superb!
iremanguitars that’s weird I’ve owned both and have had no problems. Sounds great dirty and clean very impressive for 5inch speaker it’s really the 1st amp to do it. The 2nd gen cube is even better
That Finger Slide Sounds Cool Phill, Thanks For The Demo, Cheers

That Soundbrenner app also works without the device, it's a good free metronome 👍
Once again I love that birdcord!
I LIKE that metronome!

Charming - no pretension. I actually bought two of the five while watching!
I really want that speaker with the suction cup!

Is fidget spinner still a good guitar gadget?
So you can controle the volume on the strum buddy with your guitars volume nob? Because i want to get this thing to help my accoustic when i play finger style at festivles.

Slidewinder ring is so damn cool but so much expensive... like I don't need it to be a fancy silver or gold ring...
Thanks for the info Philip
Which Voltage Birdcord were you using?
thanks for the vid man. definitely gonna grab one of the bird cords!
Does the watch metronome have varying vibrations for the downbeat and back beat?
The first gadget turns your guitar into a hollow body guitar unpluged xD
wow.....I did not know about these 5 guitar gadgets......
Please philip, they are the first to make cable free pedal board, but it only works on their pedals, please philip, your thoughts would be much appreciated
Hey philip can you review the swiff pedals, they are new but looks cool, please
Phil, I love that strat. Bird cord sounds awesome. I'll need to look into that. Is there a multi out or multi ended for more than 1 pedal at a time?
Is that a custom Bich on your picture? Looks awesome
Great vid. Thanks Phill.
Thats impressive but... can it djent?
Ah yes the hosa plug because I can't use a simple aux wire with a 1/4 inch converter if required, hmm?
Hey Phil - r u from Monterey? MWest
Hi there! What model Strat is that? It looks great, and I'm looking for a HH model. Any advice?
Poo poo
Cool stuff, thanks
How do you connect the guitar to the Strumbuddy ? Just a standard cord or is it wireless
It comes with a little cable.
does the strum buddy work on a Banjo
Just love your wooden face guitar interestingly looking for one in a JEFF BECK’S Fender style model
I want everything you showed here now
I purchased it but it is not sticking on my guitar
Love these videos
Cool gadgets! Thanks for the info!
What amp are you using on your intro sound track
Tried to click the link for the slide winder but a Bandwidth error came up. Anyone else have this problem?
Really like the BirDCord BUT try to find it so far in the US.. Anyone find it let us know...Goodbye Volto...everyone has a few of those cell phone emergency chargers..TY Philip !!!
3500ma will power faaaaar more than 8 pedals. I power 15 pedals from a one spot(1700ma)

I want all of them
🚩 Thanks! Some Very Cool gear. Would never know if not for... YOu!
Is there any alternative to the slidewinder that's not so expensive? 😣
Gary Daniel shoot..it's worth a shot! Lol
The Fluid Suction Amp is $70, not $50 at the link on amazon you provided.
Great.
I need help turning up my electric guitar
Did you so this the other day?
That little ring is $140
Evidently you're too young to know what a 50¢ piece looks like... that Hosa is the size of a full silver dollar (or a bit bigger!)
Why couldnt you just hook your phone up to the amp in the same way I get it not tethered to the amp but its not like it is imposible with out the blue tooth
May the 4th be with you...
Uh, I use nothing but Safari and the first version worked just fine .................
I think it also worked for me. Maybe it also depends on the OS version you were running?
Same here
I would love phil to be my grandad.
A happier Billy Corgan
Dude even as recorded that amp sounds too clear. Is it like that for real? I've tried many mini amps and never bought a single one as they sound awful.
What Do You Think About Radiohead?
ofir izhar
I think they’re creeps and weirdos. What the hell are they doing here?
SECOND HERE. SCREW HEALTH, jk. watching later
Not gonna lie, this stuff sucks lol
Stick on amp sounds terrible, sorry.
JUNK, all of it... ha
