Kia and Hyundai have been having some serious recalls lately. Having recently driven, researched, and purchased SUVs, I think the Mazda is the best driver's car, and the Subaru is the safest and gets the best traction in slippery conditions. The Honda and Toyota SUVs are the longest-lasting and best all-around if you keep a car over ten years. Last November 2022, I purchased a 2021 Honda HR-V and a 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.
I really like the Mazda CX-50 but the infotainment system is so bad I don't think I can pull the trigger on one. Have a Mazda 3, and it is just a miserable system. Also, have a Hyundai that has been fantastic. Like most cars these days there is a recall here and there but a quick web search shows Kia/Hyundai do not have a very many recalls compared to other manufacturers. I did get rid of my Toyotas after buying into the reliability hype, but had nothing but issues them.
Hi. What is your view on Mistubishi? I live in Canada and planning to buy a new car. According to my budget, I’m confused between 2 options i.e. Mistubishi RVR SE AWC and Hyundai Venue Preferred. I drive around 200 km everyday. Confused since Venue is good in terms of gas consumption and also the interior and brand name. On the other hand, RVR is a 2.4 L engine with lots of power and big in size compared to venue. Can you please suggest me an option since I don’t know which one will be best considering Long Term Reliability.
What about Buick Encore GX? It’s less money and the headroom is amazing as I’m taller. Have disabilities. I tried other SUVs listed but cannot afford $600-800 car payments! And not comfortable! Hit my head on the door getting in! Hyundai Tucson for example!
I'm curious to compare this with Consumer Reports reviews..and ratings.. and THE ONES said to AVOID. Personally, I wish they'd ALL leave all that INFOTAINMENT BULLSHIT out-- that's a distraction NOT NEEDED and causes accidents with people f..g with them while driving. I won't WANT computer telling me what to do. DON"T WANT any hybrid garbage either.. Rogue looks great- but is wAY underpowered with that WEIRD engine prone to leaks and issues.. Honda CRV- are solid- but boring.. and weak, Kia's are JUNK- and the Bronco- though looks ok- and is powered ok-- have several RECALLS open and prone to issues.. , VW has far too many issues to even mention and are on CR list to SERIOUSLY AVOID, Subaru is good-- but ... I"m glad it doesn't have any of the hybrid BULLSHIT- and junk like several different options that tend to f.. things up.. It's one of the BETTER ones on this list-- by CR and other reviewers and testers.
I subscribe to CR (physical magazine only), but don't trust them as far as I can throw the magazine. They differ greatly on what they report from surveys to what is statistically collected on actual issues. Just fill out one of their surveys and you can see how it is very strange. Had a junker van that had nothing but issues, however, answering questions they posed it was like my van was fantastic.
