This is hilarious! An A200 just doesn't sound right on an SD40-2 but it is super cool to hear it on an engine even if it was just put up there for fun.
It only sounds wrong because it hasn't been heard on one before! This is rather amazing to hear .. not hilarious.. sure train buffs would like to hear ote of.these horns on.more equipment
no they werent on the S and RS series, plus these were early generation single-chime horn on diesel trains and sometimes ended up on steam locomotives like SP 4449
I remember this horn when I was a little kid. I haven't heard this in years. I miss it. Thanks for the beautiful memories.
This gives me the vibes of what it's like when a EMD unit back in the 40s, 50s and a Gas turbine passing by.
Ahhh take me back!
It's the legendary GG-1 horn

Wow that is one deep horn. I never knew Leslie made a A200, must have been one of the first horns on the RS series of locomotives.
Keep it up 👍🏻

Their iconability can also be traced to the GG-1.
@@CobaltZ_hans wow never knew! Thanks
@@TheMilwaukeeRoad some s and rs's did
Wow! Brings back memories . My all time favorite horn!! Thanks👍🏼😊
😀Now that’s an interesting horn for one of those SD40’s!😄
Single chime horns are underrated. I like the K5LA, but it can be a bit much.
And I Like The Lesile A200 Airhorn
We need these horns reproduced, and put on trains again.
my thoughts exactly.
Definitely should be put on all New York City Subway trains...
Train horn? Sounds like a great Lakes freighter ship horn something like their bass note very interesting thanx ron rdzl om616
Love the sund of the horn.
Sund
Yes it sunds wonderful
Oh my god… THAT IS VERY RARE nice catch
When did 3337 get an a200 I remember it with a Nathan p5
Had an M3 at one point too.
I suspect this was temporarily fitted by an employee as it now has a P5 again.
Certainly not what you’d expect on NS lol
Fascinating
Oh damn. That sound awesome.
Nice catch Austin. Where is the snow in Pennsylvania? I have snow twice in North Carolina! Loud horn! One tone.
Straight up daylight. 😁 really cool! they have the same horn
That's something different
Wow, its 1960 again.
Reminds me of the Canadian pacific c liners with a200's
I’m used to hearing P5s on SD40-2s.
Damn!! Great Video!!
Someone runnin an F unit??
No it’s a sd40-2
@@Goofyboi2002 I know it’s an SD40-2.

Does the 3337 Here has the EMD 16-645F3 Engine as in the SD50?
Joe's HVAC, Fishing and Railfan productions no, these have the 645E3, less horsepower and much more reliable
Nice Horn 3337
DUDE i love it railroad should put those horns on more of their locomotives maybe on a highhood
NS 3337’s Leslie A200?
😂 bro the horn got me laughing.
It reminds me of my least favorite locamotive, which is a GG1. But nice rare catch, though!
Just curious, why is it your least favorite locomotive?
@RustBeltRailfan, im just not a fan of the horn or the look to it. It looks weird and sounds weird imp.
@@truckspotting7473 Fair enough
Why they have that type of horn on that type of locomotive
Holy smokes!
Does anyone know what the reason for this horn was?
A horn enthusiast probably swapped it for a horn they wanted.
@@bnsfbandit9807 how easy is it to swap a horn on a locomotive?
@@prestonwells1840 Four bolts...
Here in Brazil it is more common to hear this horn on models like this and others.
this sound reminds me of LITTLE JOE and FA1 that they had in Brazil.
God that sounds like a really deep sour sick foghorn 🤣🤣🤣 Great Video tho!
when was this?? apparently it has a P5 now
@@Idkausername1 oooh, was it like the engineers horn
that is one rare shot
What’s the lead engine the number Austin?
It is listed at both 0:07 seconds in, and in the description
That's probably a former Penn Central unit
Nope, it was built new for Conrail
Why is it dubbed by northfolk southern
That sounds kinda like squidward’s clarinet from SpongeBob SquarePants
HOW
That horn doesn’t sound like a train horn
Believe it or not it is actually, it does sound like a truck horn but louder and bigger, they are more louder than a S3L if it's tune right.
Sound over mic/speakers is nothing like the real thing. I own one, it'll vibrate your dentures.
