i wanted to mod it a little bit so i started with the pipes.
i bought them from webike japan and was well worth the money.
if you have any questions about the how i installed them and how it sounds on the road (like an apache helicopter) then feel free to leave a comment

Sounds great with the exhaust and baffle!
Excellent side-by-side demo vid. And, Great.. Sounding.. Pipes..!!
+J Bram thanks !
West eagle also makes a great set of pipes for the 250 virago/vstar .rejet carb, and cone air filter for good sound and bot more pick up
+Jesse Baskiewicz yeah I had a look at those, extremely happy with the ones I have now tho too. Going to put some black or red wrap on the pipes and giving it a new paint job. Keep checking in over the next 1-2months for a video on that
Where can I get the west eagle? Is it really that loud? I want my shit to sound like guns firing
@@LJawz who made your pipes dude?
Sounds great! I just ordered these in black. Can't wait.
+Kevin Lam I like the idea of black. Where are you ordering them from?
Ordered from WeBike Japan
Kevin Lam did u get it? is it good? im thinking ordering the same
Please disregard my previous question about the support brackets for the exhaust. I see them now. The last photo shows the support bracket, for the top pipe.
Sounds great with or without the baffels. Did you have to rejet the carbs?
0:52 oooooooommmmmmmmmmggggggg niiiiceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Hey mate these sound sick and I've ordered my own set of pipes, but did you rejet the carbs? I haven't yet and I modified the stock exhaust and it either runs lean or rich, I can't find the sweet spot between the two and I was advised I need a rejet
Thanks mate! No I didn't have to do any re-jetting. It ran fine afterwards, if I recall correctly I may have adjusted the fuel air ratio slightly but other than that it ran like normal.
All the best!
@@LJawz awesome thanks, can't wait to fit my own pipes haha. Ride safe mate.
0:53 what brand of tracksuit pants are those? I really like the grey.
+Daniel Stewart they are from rivers I believe and are very comfy👌 highly recommended product
So I'm ordering these tomorrow for my 2013 yamaha vstar 250, where should I order a new set of gaskets for my bike when I put on the new pipes?
Wow!
That's awesome! 😎
Thanks!
I have a 2007 virago. I want to get some new pipes...real pipes. So I just wanted to get this clear from you with the pipes you bought. The originals have ome fake pipe...like my originals. So the new set you bought in the video installs to each head right? The curves were perfect for the rear pipe?
Yes mate, both pipes are "real" and connect to both the header's.
Hello ! do these exhausts increase your fuel consumption?
Did the exhaust pipes discolor in the way of turning brown/blue after a little while ? I bought the same exhaust and mine did.
Yeah same happened with mine. When this happened I bought some black exhaust wrap and covered the pipes in that. I liked the look better. However, if you take the wrap off after a while it damages the pipes 'visually' even more. Turning a dark browny burnt colour.
Do you have to change your timing or carb or anything when you change the pipes?
Do you know the noise rating on the pipes? i'm thinking about these but i'm worried it'll be too loud for my shared driveway. Don't really want to upset people in the current rental conditions. If you've got a way to compare it to stock sound both idle and rolling? Mainly just have big gripes with the faux exhaust.
0:53 Olá amigo tenho uma virago 250 ano 2002, e queria muito colocar este escape Without Baffles, poderia dizer qual é o link que encontro no Webikek Japan? Obrigado!
japan.webike.net/products/20947082.html
Obrigado amigo. Boa sorte
@@LJawz Muito Obrigado!!!
What are the names of these pipes?? And can I get a link and what's price??
+Bobby Blankenship the website I bought it from called the exhaust "U-CP stainless slash cut exhaust system". You should be able to find it on webike Japan. Cost be about $200-300 if I'm not mistaken. Bought them a could of years ago
so the rear exhaust is real......one youtuber said rear was a fake pipe which makes no sense.
The original exhaust does have half a fake pipe. If you look closely you'll see that one exhaust pipe isn't connected to the engine. Why did they make it like this? No idea haha
Thanks for reply. I still don't get it. If it's not hooked up(rear cyl) where does exhaust go? I dont see a pipe connecting to the front cyl pipe......
Have a look online and I'm sure you'll find it. But pretty much what's happening is one exhaust is hooked up to the front cylinder which you can visually see. The other exhaust is connected via an additional "pipe" which connects to the exhaust about halfway from the end of the other exhaust.
Remember, this is for the original exhaust only.
Strait Pipe for Vulcan 250 ...is it ok ....will anything happen to Engine ... thank you
I ran straight pipe for my virago. Didn't tune it but probably wouldn't hurt to do it
You know if this pipes are legal in spain? Becouse i have this motorbike and whould like to change the pipes but i don't know if this pipes pass the "itv"
You'd have to check how many decibels it's legal for exhausts in your country. I had mine in Australia and didn't get pulled over once.
Hello, did you connect each pipe to a cylinder?
Yes
What solo seat is that in the last clip??
its just the stock seat with the rear passenger seat unscrewed.
Gostei
Sounds great. Do you know the make and model of the pipes?
+madogblue can check out all the details or feel free to email them at Japan webike they're really friendly and answer any questions
I have the same motorcycle. Could you share where did you get those pipes?
I would like that my motorcycle sounds like yours.
Thank you.

Enjoy 👍
hi, you can explain me how do you do to cut yours pipes? .. are the originals pipes cutters or do you bought a new pipes? ... if you did cut the pipes, how do you do it? thanks.
they are new pipes
you can find them here: japan.webike.net/products/20947082.html
Ok, thanks.
I'm planning to swap my exhaust out. How much of a performance increase did you gain? Or did it just make it louder?
Didn't notice any performance increase, it might have had a bit of a placebo effect and felt faster cause of the noise.
I think mods to increase performance on such a small CC bike would be a bit pointless. Maybe on the 650 VSTARS you would notice a difference.
@@LJawz Yep I agree for extra power on a 250cc. But added the staccato to be heard by oblivious drivers. Do you think it's worth it or just drill some 1/2" holes in the stock mufflers? Maybe I'll try that first.
Wouldn't hurt drilling some holes in the muffler before investing in the louder exhaust. I do agree with the added "staccato" statement for oblivious drivers haha.
I've owned many bikes of all different CC's and my 2012 Yamaha VStar 250 is my favorite. It's so light and nimble. Not too bad on power either. I re jetted the carburetor for the lean issues (117 main and 125 pilot for low elevation) and opened up the air intake. Also increased the front sprocket to a 17 tooth. Helps with highway speed RPMs. Installed some good Perelli tires and changed out the 5W shock oil to 15W. Next add some staccato noise.
How was the installation? :-) im thinking of buying (i am bying them) for my 125 virago 98.
but is it somerhimg i could do at home? :)
+Lucky69 yes it's definitely something you could do at home, like I did. Just need some common tools to help you out, slight problem solving skills and maybe someone to hold the pipes in place every now and then.
If you come across any bumps in the installation chuck us a comment and I'll try help out as much as I can :)
Okay cool thank you for the fast respond! i wil def contact you if i have problems! Thank you!
does it effect the performance any? like readjusting carbs or anything?
I didn't readjust the carbs on mine and i don't really think its necessary unless you really want to. as far as performance goes, i didn't notice a difference. there are some videos you can find on TH-cam where they test the performance of drag pipes on virago's. if i remember correctly, you lose some mid range performance, but like i said before, i didn't notice anything besides the looks the bike gets now.
Nice. Thank you.
I need help with my bike
Does it affect the lifespan of the motor?
Yes! But in a good way, it actually helps increase the lifespan of your motor and its efficiency by letting the exhaust flow better. Your bike might run a bit lean afterwards however so some people recommend getting a tune. (I didn't and she still ran fine)
I have the 535 virago would these pipes work on my bike as well ?
Not sure mate. You'd have to see if they were compatible. Id only buy pipes that are recommend for my make and model just to avoid future installation problems
I set up with no baffle but dont have sound like your bike, can u help me!!!
Make sure you changed the gaskets when replacing the exhaust and tighten it up equally on both sides. I also had a K&N air filter at the time which may have contributed. Hope this helps
LJawz thx u! This exhaust is iron or inox and hơw about size of diameter exhaust?
I bought this exhaust from webike Japan. It's stainless steel slash cut exhaust system. Google it and all specs should pop up
if you remember how did you adjust the carb for the new exhaust
No, I didn't adjust the carb when I installed the new exhaust. I don't think there is a need for a 250cc cruiser like this. If you want you can take to a mechanic to get it tuned properly for the exhaust.
I think it sounds best without the baffles, but that’a just my opinion. LOL.
Looking at getting a 2016 for my gf.
These pipes look and sound great.
Where do ya purchase them from.
Cheers 🍻
Great bikes all round. Lots of friends had them as first bike and literally no complaints besides power sometimes, but for a 250 their great. Bought the pipes from webike Japan. When changing exhaust remember to change the gaskets as well 👍 Goodluck
Can you remove the baffles easily? Please excuse my lack of knowledge
The baffles are super simple to remove. If I remember correctly I believe it's just two screws that hold it in and then it slides out
did you have to rejet?
+brad hamilton no mate. Just replaced with the old one and I believe it ran better afterwards
LJawz So you didn't need to re-jet ? Just take off the stock pipes and put the new ones on ? Just curious because my stock pipes have a loose baffle and its driving me crazy.
Yep exactly, I took it for a ride and seemed pointless to re jet the engine as to me it seemed to be riding better. however, every bike is different so it really depends on the bikes performance afterwards.
With my new bike I needed to re jet with new air filters.
LJawz ok. I have a 2009 V-Star 250 so I was curious if I needed to re-jet.
If It worth anything, mine was a 2005 virago 250. (virago - vstars are the same thing pretty much)
I am here because some guy commented #LikeAnApacheHelicopter on a Feminism video so i clicked on the hashtag and this showed up... so yeah..
+PyroCapelle I am intrigued
