Does being nasty to a stranger on the internet help you feel better about yourself? I had a FANTASTIC grandpa who died 40+ years ago (I was in my teens). I’d rather have another day with him than your beloved grandpa Paul for the rest of my life.@@karencristobal4999
Dr. Paul, my children are all grown up but I still love watching your videos from when you had a practice and now with your beautiful granddaughter. She is so precious and does resemble you. It's so nice to see you happy in your new role. Congratulations on being a grandpa.
My son had a tongue tie when he was born 40 years ago. Doctor never suggested a procedure. When my son was in 4th grade his dentist recommended that we cut the tt. We did it while he was on laughing gas in the dentist’s chair. He healed just fine and it wasn’t very sore either. I guess medical knowledge has changed tremendously. Your granddaughter is beautiful! 💖
Your son is 2 years younger than me and I didn’t get my tongue tie surgery until I was almost in 5th grade. I still have scar tissue on my frenulum from it.
Your a enthusiastic grandpa. You are still a doctor and you have the knowledge and skills. You can explain and show and all is well. You'll always have a MD and until your license to practice expires, you are still OK by the state laws. Until it expires, then you can just be Grandpa Paul, MD
As a funny ha-ha, I got "tongue tied" as a 20-year-old. I was in training for bike racing and rode myself right into the rear windows of a parked van. My bike stopped, but I did not. My face hit the rear window of that parked van at 22 MPH causing, among other things, my tongue to get thrust over my lower teeth. Frenulum destroyed. Even though I was knocked unconscious and rolled around on the pavement making odd sounds, I didn't got to the hospital (no insurance). 35 years later and I can still barely stick my tongue out. Frenulum Lives Matter.
Thank you! My grandson had a serious latch problem and saw many professionals including a pediatric dentist who did the same procedure. It helped but barely at all. I watched one of your old videos and learned about lip ties. He went and received a procedure that and began to thrive! 👍🏼👏🏼
Wonderful video, Dr Paul!! I'm a nurse-midwife and lactation consultant and this was a great summary of tongue tie/release. Dr Ghaheri is my go-to for tongue tie education/info. P.s. Congrats on your sweet granddaughter ! :)
Thank you so much for this video!! What a wonderful follow up, and such lovely explanations! Your grand baby is so precious and sweet, and if my daughter’s experience is any indication, after one week, the stretches won’t hurt nearly as badly, and you’ll be able to see the wound filling in from behind week by week. Godspeed, you guys! 🙏💕
My last 2 were born with tongue ties! I wonder why this has become so common my nurse in the hospital said it has increased in the last 10/15 years....
My daughter had that problem and when we were thinking of getting it corrected she hit her face on the floor when crawling and her teeth must have done something because there was a lot of blood and later we noticed under he tongue had split and took that problem away.
Great video, Dr. Paul. Your granddaughter is beautiful and her parents seems lovely and very capable and loving parents. Congratulations to them on the birth of their daughter and congratulations to you on the birth of your grandchild! I'm an IBCLC (lactation consultant) and I see my share of lip and tongue ties. We have several good Ped Dentists and a few Ped ENTs in our area who do full evaluations and laser releases so we can refer patients to them. (The hardest part is talking to patients who may not realize not just any Ped Dentist or ENT is educated and practiced in lasering tethered oral tissue releases. There is also a strange growing group of people who "don't believe" in tethered oral tissues, which is an issue for another time. *sigh* ) I'm so glad your granddaughter's parents did the release. It makes such a difference. Hour long feedings are not only exhausting for mom and baby, but they can cause an issue with supply over short or long period of time. Sometimes we see babies do well in the beginning, when the milk ejection reflex is strong but start seeing babies falling off their growth curve and even losing weight as the supply regulates and the MER becomes less intense and when parents aren't in pain themselves and don't know how insidious ties can be in the long run. Your little granddaughter will heal up quickly and breastfeeding should be so much easier, she'll transfer more milk and the whole thing will also be much less exhausting. Just to share, a few weeks ago my husband and I went to stay with our grandson (our oldest daughter and her husband live in another state) while our daughter had her 2nd baby, a little girl! Four hour labor and she was Earthside in 3-4 pushes. She's nursing like a champ (just like her big brother was) and growing like she should and doing great. Isn't it fun to be grandparents? 💝 Thank you for sharing this with us, Dr. Paul.
My daughter had the T.T. many years ago. I held her for a sedative to take effect and set her down for the procedure. They clamped the skin off and then cut it.
Thank you so much, learnt a lot from this video, struggling with breastfeeding and my doctor dosent think my baby has a tongue tie but my breast hurts from breastfeeding and I don’t think she sucks enough, I had to resolve to pumping for her to eat more which after she gets good rest. At least I have learnt the stretches and I will do that for her just to help improve our feeding.
My youngest grandson who was born 11-1/2 years ago was born with a tongue tie, which was lasered when he was 3 days old. He’d had trouble latching before it was done. All they used was breast milk to help it heal.
This is a great Video! I really appreciate the dedication in each video you post, I would be glad if anyone here can explain a few things to me about investment, I believe it's my time to shine for a better future
I'll advise you to work with a financial advisor.....Building a good investment portfolio is more complex so I would recommend you seek Fergus Waylen's support. This way you can get strategies designed to address your unique long/short-term goals and financial dreams .
YES! that's exactly his name (Mr Fergus Waylen) I watched his interview on CNN News and so many people recommended highly about him and his trading skills, he's an expert and I'm just starting with him....From Brisbane Australia
My six baby cried for hours upon hours. She wasn’t gaining weight. I refused to supplement. After a visit to a lactation consultant after being referred by a local moms group, I found out she was severely tied. Both lip, tongue and buccal. I took her have it released. The lactation consultant said to me “give her one month, she will gain weight, tell the pediatrician to back off and if she doesn’t gain in one month, you’ll supplement”. I was surely going to lose it if I had to give her formula as I was determined to exclusively breastfeed (I’m very neurotic post partum). Sure enough, she gained 3 pounds in one month post procedure and the “colic” went away. We also took her to a chiropractor (all of this I was always very non-believing of, including colic) to have her neck adjusted. She was so tied and tense from being tied all of this significantly helped her. The worst part was the coconut oil massage. Around the clock. It would take me much longer than that just took. I was so afraid of reattachment. It was horrible.
I was born tongue tied. I remember them cutting it. I was 4 or 5. I just remember being allowed to have an ice cream cone afterward. That was over 40 years ago. I didn't realize that it could cause gas, etc. for the baby. My Mom said that I cried a lot when I was a baby. We lucked out with our kids not having that. You have a little cutie there!!
Those LED lights make people depressed and suicidal af. I remember when I had LED light bulbs💡 I felt the most depressed I had ever been in my entire life. I wouldn't have noticed until God gave me a skin affliction on only my right side of my body where my night lamp was and I decided to change my bulbs and I felt soooo much better. I changed all the bulbs in my apartment and I started cleaning because I could finally see. LED lighting is different. It's like you can't really see crisp and clear. Like having low pixel quality on a screen.
I've read this procedure is all the rage which is obviously miserable for these poor babies is being over done, completely unnecessary unless of course in emergency situations and also being performed by unqualified people so parents really make sure it's truly necessary before putting your infant(s) through this.
I THINK I have a tongue tie. My speech has always been an issue (I have garbled vocabulary, and have to be conscious on how I speak) Can it be corrected in adulthood?
My daughter nursed all the time. When I was not nursing, I had a great electric pump, trying to keep my supply high.. She never had a great latch, I had concerns about it before I left the hospital, there were no "lactation nurses" 30 years ago, not where I live anyway, and I let her wean herself... I am sure the last year she nursed it was for comfort ONLY, like. hmmm, mommy's boobies are my SAFE PLACE!! lol I miss you Dr. Paul, you were so "real" (I would never have made the "boobie comment to ANY other Dr.). I wish they had checked for tongue tie back then, I watched something about it a few months ago, how when they cry, "normally" their tongue will curl, unless! they have tongue tie.. She is going to have her own baby next month (YAYAY), I have told her to ask about tongue tie, and even in an adult, a Dr. can stil see a tongue tie.. In case it is a genetic thing, she plans to ask the pediatrician about it... Oh how I detest what happened to you, you are THE BABY WHISPERER... You are deeply missed. God bless you and yours!!
Thank You Dr. Paul for sharing your grand baby with us💫🌿🌞
Thanks for sharing your beautiful daughter with us mum and dad! She is super precious!

I am in my forties and they didn't clip my tongue until I was 4 or 5. I remember it happening.
Brilliant dentist here. Dentists usually focus on teeth and gums
@mariannelovesbabies8559 my dentist didn't do mine. I had it done at my regular doctor's office.
What would be the point of getting don at that age thought it was for baby’s to feed easier
What a beautiful baby and fantastic parents.

Congrats and she is beautiful. A lot of work, but, so worth the effort. Many blessings and enjoy her.
I had the same surgery when I was around ten years old and it went smoothly no issues whatsoever with my speech.
Thank you for taking the time and energy to help others!

My grandson had this same procedure. He did well, also. Not easy on parents with the exercises, but well worth it! 😊
I think you are the BEST Grandpa!!! God bless you!!!❤

She looks like you Dr. Paul. And yes, she's adorable. Congratulations! (ON, Can)
FIRST! 🎉 SUCH A BRAVE GIRL❤ 💪
Congratulations grandpa your baby is beautiful. 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Hey Doc! Do you feel babies, children who carry the MTHFR gene are more then likely to be tongue/lip tie?
I asked the same question to Dr Ghaheri. He said there’s no research that indicates that.
60 years ago mine was done in the doctor’s surgery.
We all love your family.
Such a beautiful family.
My daughter had that problem and when we were thinking of getting it corrected she hit her face on the floor when crawling and her teeth must have done something because there was a lot of blood and later we noticed under he tongue had split and took that problem away.
Hmm kinda like pulling out the tooth at home instead of the dentist, hurts more but fixes the problem.
She' so cute! Regards from Brazil, doctor. ❤

Yes! The surgery can cause lisps and speech impediments. This is a stupid trend!
@@lorigirl65? Getting rid of the tongue tie impares the speech? I think it's the other way round.

She is so cute .
Never had tongue tie surgery when my boys were babies. I nursed both of them successfully for almost a year. I don't understand it.
How often does this happen?
Hi Doctor, my baby has upper lip tie, will this cause gap between teeth when she is older. Here the Doctor said don’t do anything about it.
Those LED lights make people depressed and suicidal af. I remember when I had LED light bulbs💡 I felt the most depressed I had ever been in my entire life.
