Great video, Erica! I use several of the same boxes you do. I use the postal service a lot using the 7.75$ envelope and the medium flat rate box, I also use the small flat rate box. They have a large flat rate box too, I've only used it once, can't remember the price though. I think 22.00$ and you can jam a ton of stuff in there. We used a few of them one year to ship the grandkids Christmas gifts. Sometimes you just can't be there!😥
I just ordered the 4x4x6 box you recommended I’m hoping since my candles are 6oz and 8 oz jars I can fit multiple in the box so I won’t need to order multiple different size boxes at least for now 😊

We have 8oz tins as well and use the 4x4x6 boxes to ship them. Granted we’ve shipped about 2-3 tins in that size box but it could still work if your shipping more than one

Erica, I’m interested in testing different fragrances for wax melts using the same melted wax. Have you done this? If so can you make a video? I’m thinking I should pour the wax in different containers then add fragrance at the right temp

You don’t use priority mail cubic at the post office, you use it on pirateship.com (you pay for the label on pirate ship, print it out, put it on your package and then drop it off at the post office) ☺️
I know this may seem like a weird question but do your tea light candle plastic cups have issues burning as far as safety goes? I’m still pretty new at candle making and would love to use the tea lights for samples, but I’m scared that if someone burns it in their counter it’s gonna melt.
Do your customers like the tin candles? I’ve been thinking about switching to tins instead of jars since I have a lot of problems with wet spots. Also thinking about switching to a white or black candle jar. Just more expensive.
Have you looked into easyship.com? One of my business friends said it’s better rates than pirate ship. I’m not sure on the specifics since I didn’t find it, but maybe check that out!
Love your videos!! So I haven’t officially launched yet I am about to have a soft launch to friends and family and they all ordered a ton! Like one aunt ordered 12 13.5 oz candles (woo hoo!) but I have no idea which shipping service/box I should use?! Can you give me some guidance I need to ship soon 😬 Side note - I don’t know if this is the same for candles but I do know UPS does really well when it comes to shipping higher weight items I went to ship a very large frame wooden frame at that and the shipping for that was only like I think it was $13 or something like that and so that is crazy and expensive considering how big this thing was so I didn’t know if you’d ever used UPS before to ship candles but I just really wanted to know what your recommendation is for shipping a dozen candles thank you so much!!

I'm very new to the candle game and was doing my research and joining a bunch of fb groups when I came across something that I didnt even realize was a thing for homemade goods... general liability insurance?! Just curious on which route and what companies you suggest or where I can find more info... ive already put in an order for supplies for Christmas gifts to family and friends but I was thinking about selling aswell once I got the hang of it but insurance would put a major damper on the financial part of that... any help would be greatly appreciated!! Check out indie or soap guild insurance. I believe they are made for handmade items. Don’t go through Next (I made that mistake and now I’m looking for another insurance company)

Do you have the customer pay the entire price of shipping, do you include the shipping costs in your price and list it as free shipping, or do you add some of the shipping cost in the price and charge the customer a fixed shipping cost? I’m worried that customers will be turned off by large shipping costs so I’m debating adding some of the shipping cost into my candles. Thanks! By the way, I didn’t even notice you weren’t wearing foundation. You look great! I’ve been dealing with cystic acne since I was about 13, and I’m 23 and still can’t find the solution for it. But honestly your skin looks awesome!
I add the shipping cost into my prices, that way I can offer free shipping! And ahh thank you! I completely understand the struggle. It was horrible for so many years. Check out “Hyram” on TH-cam. He’s a skincare expert and I wish he was on TH-cam when I was struggling, my skin has improved even more from listening to his knowledge/recommendations! ❤️

What are wax melts used for I’m thinking about making them but I don’t know what they are used for
They are used for putting into wax warmers. They don’t use a flame, just a light bulb and it heats up the wax melt and disperses the scent!
