Love your videos! I wanted it to go on and on, you have a very calming presence to my stress! I started my candle business last October...well, started with the preparations! I built my Shopify site (with no support from Shopify...which was a pain in the a**) it took me 6 months! Then tested for another 4 months...spent more money than I can even admit to myself! I have bought about 640 lbs of wax, 50 lbs of fragrance, 3 sizes of jars (100 each), hundreds of wicks, shipping supplies for about 5 yrs and every label under the sun! I am a very black and white personality that has to be prepared! haha My main candles are my husband's wheel thrown pots and "trinket" plates, (pottery has been a stress- reliever "hobby" for him for the past 30 years, one lot our first dates together, 30 years ago, was a pottery class!) Needless to say we have A LOT of pottery! I had a corporate job out of college but now that I have raised my family, I want to do something more fun and creative! After doing LOADS of testing with different wicks and waxes, I finally have some guidelines I "hope" will work because each pot is unique and cannot all be tested! I also have two concrete pots also, that I am going with. The small shapemakery pot with a lid, and the oval pot from Amazon. So far I have filled about 80 ceramic pots and about 30 cement pots but... I haven't sold any yet! I have given away a good deal to family "influencers" which didn't amount to anything. As you know, nobody comes to your Shopify site unless you bring them there! I have been trying to make some instagram reels...I know NOTHING about social media but been giving it a concerted effort! I would love to have a youtube channel so people could get to know me, but one of my hands does not work very well so it would be a bust! I haven't done any markets yet, we live in AZ and it is about 110-115 degrees! (I even have those shipping heat shields that are supposed to help.) With inflation the way it is I am hearing people just don't have the money to buy like in the past. I am starting to doubt that I can do this! Any words of positivity? Again, thanks for you videos!
Hi there! Thank you so much for the kind words. I totally get how you're feeling! You sound like you're on the right path though. It's easy to let those feelings of doubt creep in, but just try to keep doing what you're doing and stay positive. Social media has been a huge help for my business, especially reels. I find that people love the behind the scenes content! I actually plan on making a marketing video here soon. Hang in there!
Ive been watching your videos non-stop and appreciate everything ive learned from you! Im in the wick testing phase and haven't had the best luck, which supplier do you use?
Thanks so much for watching! The wick testing phase was definitely the longest and most frustrating part of the journey for me. I usually buy from Northstar Country Candle Co. because they offer free shipping on wicks.

Hey there! No I haven’t. I do use honeycomb for my room sprays, melts, and decor pieces. The candles do just fine in the boxes with the crinkle paper.

I still use it! Just not for candles anymore since they’re in the box. I use it for concrete decor, room sprays, and wax melts.
