it is so nice that the Bulwark podcast expanded their hosts like Sam Stein who used to work in Politico. for the past years I can only see him in Morning Joe and not a lot of his take we can hear from him. He is a great addition to the original and my favorite Bulwark hosts like Sarah, Bill, Tim, JVL and Will. My day is not complete without watching multiple episodes of this podcast. Entitlement is multigenerational. There are so many entitled middle-aged and senior adults. So many. They vote for and advocate for candidates whose policies make life much more difficult for many young adults. I understand why some young folks don't vote. It's hard for them to feel invested and civically engaged in a society that doesn't prioritize the issues that young adults care about - living wages, affordable, quality education, affordable, quality childcare, and mental health resources

I was talking with a 21 years old guy today while he was filling my propane tank ahead of Helene (Florida here). A few days ago he told me he didn't know if he was going to vote or not. This after making it pretty clear he was not a low information person. He understood foreign policy issues and environmental issues more than most I talk to. Today I asked him why he was hesitant. He told me he thinks "we are past the point." He doesn't believe in his own agency nor does he believe people in general have the will or understanding to live. Of course, I told him the biggest reason to vote is to feel yourself but I get his sense of futility. There are constant influences (all evil) telling inexperienced people to forget about it. This is how Russia, and Hungary, and MAGA and authoritarians stifle the power of the young. It's not stupid to be positive about the future. It's smart to be positive about your future.
It is frightening to realize that the majority of the incoming generation’s attention spans are so cooked the only way they consume news and information is in the form of 10-20 second “ironic” memes. That’s why so many of them don’t take trump seriously. They think he’s a “meme lord.” A clown is a clown, a dangerous clown is a dangerous clown, a dangerous clown should not be president.
