I used to be against it but not anymore. In the last 30 years the Republican party has won the vote of the majority of the votes 1 time. Why are the votes of rural Republicans in states like Georgia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina more important than the 3 or million more people that vote Democrat every election cycle? The Republican party has fundamental issues that they need to fix. The sooner we make it so that they can't win nationally with their extremism, the sooner they will put forth better quality options and policies and get back to working for the people not fortune 500.

If changing the way the electoral votes are cast changes the results of the elections, when there is no change in the popular vote, it just proves that we need to get rid of the electoral college.

I used to believe 1 vote per person and majority wins when I was young and not traveled through the country. As I aged and got real life experience on how different every state and city truly is the electoral college started to make sense.

Why should only a few thousand people in a couple select states get to determine who gets to be president? The current system invalidates tens of millions of people's votes in "safe" states. That includes democrats and republicans.
