  • In this episode of MQ How To, Coach A. details how to make a game plan chart. Starting with personnel & working through Down & Distance (D&D), this chart can help a coach see how offenses are attacking a defense on certain downs. At the end are the Red Zone and Goal Line sections that help a coach construct a plan for those field zones. Finally, Coach A. brings it all together and explains how this sheet can turn into your game day call sheet.

Great stuff Coach 🤘 I’m sure others have their way of doing this, but seeing other way is a great way to learn. Thanks

When playing an all 11 team, would you see an issue with replacing the personnel column with a Yard Line column (A-F). I have a hit chart as is that tells me what is going on by formation and personnel. Curious on what you think about this. Thanks for your help as always!

When I go up against an all-11 team I usually put the formation in its corresponding Pers. grouping, so I know how the offense changes as the look changes. I could see if you are only getting certain formations that using where they are used as a tendency pick up.

Coach, what do you mean by “P and 10” in the first down column?

    • @craigbarnes2160

The 'P' refers to Possession, meaning their first play after they get the ball. As Coach says, you may be able to be a bit more aggressive if you know your opponent is conservative 'coming out of the gate'.

@@craigbarnes2160 Is that referred to the 1st possession of each series or the 1st possession of each half?

@@melmersberg6241 Generally it refers to the first possession of the game/half. How are they looking to set the tone? How have they reacted to what happened in the first half?
