It doesn't happen that often that I have no complaints about a tutorial or a review. This is just stellar - comprehensive, simple, to the point, zero water.
Watch the entire tutorial in one go, i have to say this was one of the best mastering tutorials i've seen so far. This guy is simply talented in walking you through all the modules with no BS style and straight to the point. Amazing!
As ever, your comprehensive tutorial presentation is perfect. Not only the content but your personality and presentation skills are excellent. Thank you.
Don't be fooled, Geoff Manchester may look like an ordinary guy, but he is secretly a Marvel superhero- iZoman! A mere mortal such as me can never hope to soar at his level, but it sure if fun watching! Another magnificent tutorial Geoff! Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is one of many reasons to use iZotope plugins.
I wish I articulately had the words to express my sincerest gratitude to the entire Izotope family for this video, and yes.. wow haha..we made it that far 😂! Thank you so much again, and so far, the Advanced Suite is incredible! On to the next video 😊🙏🏾❤️
Gotta be one of the clearest tutorials on this product I've ever seen or on mastering in general. Thank you for taking the time to think through how to present something like this.
This is the best presentation of a software product I've ever seen in my life. And I'm a software engineer! Feeling very confident in picking Izotope products now.
I just bought the Izotope mix & master bundle. I used to watch a lot of your videos but now it seems that I will need to eat them....lots of work ahead but feeling confident with the new tools. Thanks for the videos Mr Manchester!
I've been studying this stuff for about 20 years and I'm in the camp who's mind is blown by this. You all did a slick job here and are on top of the game. The tutorial is one of the best as well. :)
This is an invaluable tutorial that really empowers professional and DIY users alike to use the full suite of Ozone modules to its fullest potential. I'm looking forward to upgrading from Ozone 9 in the near future.
I've been using Ozone 9 for some time, but never really got into it, more of comparing different presets. Now with 10 and this great tutorial and 2 weeks to make the final touch to my next song, I found the energy to go deeper into the product. Thanks!
This Program is a Masterpiece, that set the new standard in mastering. The look and feel is amazing. And the output, well if you do not overdose in extremes, the outcome is fantastic. Already the presets give you nice results or good starting points. You are sceptical, fine, try the demo for yourselfand be amazed.
Well worth my time. Completely covered the plugin. Geoff has a million dollar Canadian voice. So nice to listen to, with calm, clear, concise explanations. He should do voice overs for commercials! Three thumbs up!
Just brilliant! What a complete package Izotope provides - great product, excellent resources, and superb tuition provided by amazingly talented people!
Thanks for doing this video. It is great, that such tutorials have replaced classic "product manuals" over the time. I watched the full video, before getting in touch with the latest update. Because I am not a pro, I used to start with the assistant and continued working on afterwards by re-adjusting single elements. This time, in Ozone 10, I fed the assistant with a reference-track I had already used for its mixing. And the assistant really did the whole job. Of course, I compared the result to different tracks on different sound-systems and I also adjusted things - just to try out. But there was no need. I decided the assistants (matched) result to be my final version. I had a lot of mixing and mastering sessions in the past, which really tested my nerves (I prefer the creative part of making music). But this time it was as smooth like never before. Mastering within two Minutes.
Wiped out years of my master chain build up in a single download... Ozone 9 was great but didn't replace stuff... It was another tool in the box... Ozone 10 replaced everything! Great job iZotope!
Thank you very much for your in-depth vedio...I just upgraded to ozone 10. Been using 9 for over a year and still learning AND expermeting..love it .Thank you TOZZ
Great video. I couldn't hear a single difference between the before and after, but I still learned a lot, and also learned that there's one human being on earth that proudly pronounces it deciBELLS.
I've watched this vid 4 times now & keep coming back to specific chapters. What an excellent video. I'm having issues with master rebalance. If I bring up the vocal slider, all the sliders move.
In my experience, the master rebalance slider is for focusing on only one aspect of the mix. So, If you select vocal and move the fader, then select drums, the sonic focus will switch from vocal to drums. Does that make any sense?
Another great tutorial. Geoff is just the right man for this because he explains "complicated details" in a calm, relaxed and matter-of-fact way. And not the kind of "overly motivated quick talker" that I'm thinking, colleague, have you had too little sleep for a week or drank 3 liters of strong coffee just before?! Having to listen to such a presentation for 60 minutes is pure stress and nerve-wracking. I've been using OZONE since version 9 and now also have version 10 and I'm still enthusiastic about the possibilities. It's just like this: There are "audio corrections", whether here in this tutorial or in others, where I hardly hear a difference with the best will in the world, despite full concentration, 100% listening, with headphones, everything you can do. And then when I see how "young people" consume music these days: MP-3 in the bus, train, on the street, via Bluetooth headphones, everything by the way - and of course always a smartphone in hand, where else on it is typed around........And then they get such subtle details of audio corrections?! I doubt it. Back in the 70s, I only listened to music when I was sitting on the sofa at home: record player on and LP on it, Kenwood Hi-Fi system with good/big Yamaha speakers turned on, which produced decent sound. And didn't do anything else on the side. Just listening to the music! About 45 minutes long. That's how long (or short) was the playing time of an LP, A+B side. Or does "one" do it that way today in the target group for which the chart music is mainly produced - or maybe again?☺
Brand new to iZotope and Ozone! I started with the Holiday Bundle, which many existing users seem to hate, but I found it to be a great sampling of several of your products. I ended up upgrading to Ozone Standard and Neutron 4! I was mainly using T-Racks for mastering. This is my new go to for mastering, and this tutorial was immensely helpful!
I'm going to just say that Ozone's Vintage Compressor and Dynamic EQ are my favorite sounding ever. I just use 'em like any other compressor and eq on my tracks. And i love how Ozone, Nuetron and Nectar all have unique sounds with their respective dynamics and EQs.
Excellent tutorial. Gives me a lot of confidence in choosing iZotope products. Also, I imagine it's overlooked by many, but your extensive vocabulary really demonstrates the clarity of thought you have when explaining each feature.
I no longer want to depend on mixing and mastering services. this seems like a perfect audio mastering tool to me. hopefully I'll get the sounds I really want now.
Excellent tutorial for a powerful tool, one of the best instructors on line. 'It's a bit oxymoronic, a modern mode in a vintage compressor...' ... classic 🙂
This was super informative. I just upgraded from Ozone 8 Advanced and all these new features were definitely needing some explanation. Thanks for taking the time to go over this and thanks Izotope for making awesome programs to make badass music.
WOW is right! Thanks SOOOO Much! I just upgraded to 10 and looking to use it on my latest releases! You do a great show of explaining without a lot of hoopla or drama of other presenters! Cheers man!
Excellent job! Been using Ozone for years now, but this video taught me a lot, especially about the modules I don’t use every day. My only complaint is that the “no vocal” part of the video highlighted the pitch-modulated (out of tune) keyboard track, which was a little distracting. As a lesson in psychoacoustics, after about 20 minutes of it, it didn’t distract me anymore. Lol.
I think the spectral shaper is very underrated. I love using it to clean the mud and nasty high end fizz out of guitars, also really good for the harsh nasally frequencies in vocals.
I've been testing Ozone 10 Advanced today (currently still at 7 Standard) and I've gotta say I'm very impressed. My mastering chain is usually cluttered with various eq's, tape saturation/exciters, "analog" compressors, de-essors, yada yada going into O7. I'm usually mixing/mastering metal and heavy rock and I'm finding the Stabilizer module (everyone compares it to Gulfoss, but I'm gonna compare it to MSpectralDynamics) and the Impact module (that most reviewers seem to be scratching their heads about) are both fantastic. As for the AI, I've never been a fan but I can see it as useful for some starting points and new perspectives, so I'm totally game but there needs to be more target points. Yeah, you can load your own target tracks (which I have not done yet), but the hip hop target seems more in line with modern hard rock than the rock target (HELLO UPPER MIDS haha). Aside from all of that, everything is easily tweakable to taste and you guys continue to knock it out of the park.
Very well done, I was on the fence about buying this but after watching this tutorial, I went right to the site and purchased it, looking forward to using this, great tutorial
Thank you for this walkthrough. I haven't used Ozone since version 6. At that time, I did some work for a dance producer and copied his workflow of PSP Vintage Warmer on the submixes and u-He Satin & Mathew Lane's DrMS on the 2 bus. But I reinstalled Alloy 2 (!) about six months ago and miss the iZotope workflow. I'm going to demo Ozone 10, it looks amazing!
Great tutorial on the product. Just what I needed to understand the product mechanisms and functionality. The examples and application were helpful t provide usage context.
Just amazing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge in a way that is easy to follow and understand. I cut my teeth on Ozone 9 and your lesson added a deep level of clarity. Stellar!
I really like the new features. Great job! As a suggestion, while in the Master Assistant, it would be nice to be able to A/B between a reference track we've added to the Targets section and the track we're mastering.
Thanks for a detailed presentation of Ozone 10! I just went from Ozone 9 Advanced to Ozone 10 Advanced, and will be referring back to this video all winter. Just wish iZotope had kept the standalone capability in 10.
I keep coming back to this video. It is such a perfect reference source, I have one request. I have trouble baking Finnish pulla here in Portland, Oregon. I think the problem is the altitude and the thing that I cannot cope with the local dry yeast. I trust that you can find a solution.
Good job. Old ozone hand here. This is a huge upgrade for Ozone. Might I humbly suggest not using a track that has de-tuning involved? It distracts from your excellent knowledge and presentation.
Great video, Great tutorial. I can't help but wonder, though. I always thought we should master after bouncing from the DAW to wav, then master the 2 track.
I'm really happy I've upgraded to Ozone 10 Standard! It's seems to be all there! Great video, very well explained. One downside to this edition tho, no more stand alone application... I loved that about earlier versions (I had 7). It nice to (also) have a dedicated piece of software that let's just focus on the master. (Even my "hack" in Komplete Kontrol didn't work...) Bring that back, please!
Bring back the standalone for Ozone 10 please!!! It would be helpful also to know where each module goes in the chain. I personally put the Stabilizer towards the end and the Match EQ post Maximizer since the reference tracks I'm trying to match are obviously all mastered tracks but I could be wrong.
Tnanks for this. It really is a shame that this isn't available standalone. I'm still having to use Ozone 9 because the standalone version is really useful when you have an album and you want to quick compare between tracks. I hope you will include this as an update - I really miss it.
Really great, helping me a lot with producing NICU's first album. I've been a bit stuck in my production process so I got the urge to think about it backwards (from mastering towards songwriting) and this is really making me realize that I can work my next songwriting/production stage around balancing the frequency spectrum in each song better. Giving me new ideas for parts and song rewrites to get that soundstage beautiful and balanced :)
That's how a product manual should be made in 2023!
I absolutely LOVE this tutorial! It's STRAIGHT TO THE POINT, with zero youtube-ish empty speech. Thank you very, very much!
I’m positive I probably pick you
It doesn't happen that often that I have no complaints about a tutorial or a review.
This is just stellar - comprehensive, simple, to the point, zero water.
Watch the entire tutorial in one go, i have to say this was one of the best mastering tutorials i've seen so far. This guy is simply talented in walking you through all the modules with no BS style and straight to the point. Amazing!
If every DAW and VST had a tutorial like this life would be so much easier
As ever, your comprehensive tutorial presentation is perfect. Not only the content but your personality and presentation skills are excellent. Thank you.
I totally agree ! High class and professional presentation ! Thank you !
100% agreed
An incredibly helpful addition to buying the plgin, to have a detailed, indexed tutorial from someone who knows . . . Full marks Izotope.
For someone that has little familiarity with this whole mastering shebang, the way that the guy explain things is so clear and helpful! Well done Sir.
Don't be fooled, Geoff Manchester may look like an ordinary guy, but he is secretly a Marvel superhero- iZoman! I did that it’s definitly worth it with the discount !
I think your voice is spot on for narration. It's awesome. A lot of other tutorials, nails on a chalkboard.

Watched this tutorial 3 times. iZotope has great products and the support to back it. ❤
I watched like 5 minutes of this and then bought it. Great investment

Geoff, you are a great teacher! I am user since Oz 5 but learned lots of basics I never took the time to learn. Thank you!
Mastering assistant is a god send for creating a quick Dj master

Excellent tutorial. Gives me a lot of confidence in choosing iZotope products. Also, I imagine it's overlooked by many, but your extensive vocabulary really demonstrates the clarity of thought you have when explaining each feature.
The articulation of this video is marvelous
The delta is a great feature to allow you to hear what damage you are (I am) doing :-)

Excellent tutorial for a powerful tool, one of the best instructors on line. 'It's a bit oxymoronic, a modern mode in a vintage compressor...' ... classic 🙂
Geoff ist the best man for explaining stuff!! Have to wait until Izotope has some special offers...😂🤪
This was super informative. I just upgraded from Ozone 8 Advanced and all these new features were definitely needing some explanation. Thanks for taking the time to go over this and thanks Izotope for making awesome programs to make badass music.
It helps the tutorial that this guy is great on camera and incredibly clear with his instruction

This is Excellent. My first master using ozone 10 was so enjoyable using the help of this video
AWESOME TUTORIAL AS ALWAYS SO PROFESSIONAL
I think the spectral shaper is very underrated. I love using it to clean the mud and nasty high end fizz out of guitars, also really good for the harsh nasally frequencies in vocals.
Since Ozone 5, I've been a loyal fan. Great presentation.

I am stunned by how many tools are packed into Ozone.
You're a legend, Geoff. Explaining somewhat complex concepts that easily is a skill in itself :)
Excellent video manual, not to say the best I've seen so far. Thank you for sharing these valuable tips.
A super-useful reference overview of Ozone 10, much appreciated.
I just started exploring Ozone 10, and this video broke down AAAALLLL the questions I had in clear and easy to understand detail. Very nice video!
Glad to hear it's helpful!
Very well done, I was on the fence about buying this but after watching this tutorial, I went right to the site and purchased it, looking forward to using this, great tutorial

Perfect details on the tools. Very much appreciated! Thank you!
One of the best explanation of Izotope Ozone 10. Thank you for your video 🙏
amazing tutorial. Purchased izotope after seeing this video!
Great tutorial on the product. Just what I needed to understand the product mechanisms and functionality. The examples and application were helpful t provide usage context.
Excellent video! Unbeliavbly clear and helpful! You're the king!
I always use Ozone 9 in my daily basis mastering and also for mixing, It's really easy to use and really easy to understand its tools.
Just amazing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge in a way that is easy to follow and understand. I cut my teeth on Ozone 9 and your lesson added a deep level of clarity. Stellar!
Geoff, you are brilliant as always.
This is a great help for getting the most out of the Ozone suite. Thanks for doing this.
Ozone 9 is incredible. I'll be updating to 10 soon. Ozone is a must for my radio imaging work.
Awesome, thanks. Loving Ozone 10, the dynamics feature for compression feels great, always hated using Knobs for compression.
Very comprehensive tutorial. Well done
I really like the new features. Great job! As a suggestion, while in the Master Assistant, it would be nice to be able to A/B between a reference track we've added to the Targets section and the track we're mastering.
So comprehensive and clear cut video!! The clarity of thought and delivering what you know is so so impressive. Thak you !!
This is absolutely one of the best training video I have ever seen. Thank you!
I need to thank you for that impeccably delivered walkthrough, so appreciated! and what a tool. some great updates in this version!
Thanks for a detailed presentation of Ozone 10! I just went from Ozone 9 Advanced to Ozone 10 Advanced, and will be referring back to this video all winter. Just wish iZotope had kept the standalone capability in 10.

Good job. Old ozone hand here. This is a huge upgrade for Ozone. Might I humbly suggest not using a track that has de-tuning involved? It distracts from your excellent knowledge and presentation.
Oh my my, very juicy !!!! 🤩 thank you✊🏾
Great video, Great tutorial. I can't help but wonder, though. I always thought we should master after bouncing from the DAW to wav, then master the 2 track.
you should do that, only now you HAVE to within your DAW (i already set up a template for this in logic). still, i miss the standalone...
(Even my "hack" in Komplete Kontrol didn't work...) Wow I can't believe it took me so long to get this product. Just wow. Great video! I'm looking forward to better productions in less time!
U did a phenomenal job Geoff
Great video! Very informative. And I’ve had ‘Shine’ in my head for a week now. Thank you. Lol!
Perfectly educational and engaging. Thank you so much for this.
Tnanks for this. It really is a shame that this isn't available standalone. I'm still having to use Ozone 9 because the standalone version is really useful when you have an album and you want to quick compare between tracks. I hope you will include this as an update - I really miss it.
Excellent video and presenter !!! very clear and godd, Thanks!!!!!
this is so amazing. Learned a lot not just about ozone. Also great guy!
Great video !! Thank you for being so articulate and knowledgable !
Wow, great tutorial! im personally a visual learner.
Thank you for smooth soft yet interesting approach. Feel I’m actually learning something
Watched the whole video. Thanks Izotope❤
Well put together... Clear, cogent and concise. Thank you.
Thank you so much I've been so incredibly confused about this
The way you break it done a true professional thank you god bless u ! Fr
This was a very instructive video. Thank you!
Great tutorial and very helpful from moving from the version 9 and adapting to the new version 10 - thank you and great job 👍
