The person in this video is actually a Neural A-I Bot code named "Geoff". The bot is an experimental product from Izotope's super-secret under-the-building audio lab lair. I'd expect a new product named Izotope Altruist, soon. Expect a new release/update on April 1 of each year.
I just added Nectar 4, Neutron 4, Ozone 11, RX 10 and a bunch of other stuff to my arsenal through a fantastic upgrade deal to Music Production Suite 6. Been binging Geoff's videos for all of these tools and I feel I've added several months of experience within a matter of hours. Awesome stuff!
This has been the most informative 57 minutes and 40 seconds of my professional life. I usually do all my surgical forensics manually in Audition's edit view. I've known about the RX 10's existence, but I have always preferred my comfort zone. THANK GOD I came across this video. You guys are AMAZING! I'm going to watch some videos about the RX 11 now. All in all, you have a new customer in me.
You can hear how well the vocals cut through and sounds more dynamically controlled when the first set of artifacts are removed. Again Thank You Izotope for Everything.❤
RX10 and Ozone11 are amazing and have helped me to restore some of my most favorite music. Can't thank iZotope enough for making such fantastic audio tools!
I'm sooo happy I purchased RX during BLACK Friday!!! OMG! I had no idea the capabilities of this tool. I've been getting more and more clients/work for audio repair and engineering, and I've been working EXTRA hard using my built in DAW and cracked plugins that half way worked. Now that I have RX I'm confident I will make cleaner mixes faster. #SuperGrateful ☺
I have the subscription so I downloaded and installed RX10 last night. This video is super easy to understand, this guy is legit and I learned a few new things
Man- I would see this video for all sorts of things .Learning is of course the most important. But also for relaxation and meditation. Izotope should be as proud of Geoff as of this update. Brilliant
Game changer! This was so helpful. I am working on restoring some old recordings of people singing and speaking. This has been amazing to hear their voices come through.
i got all o the izotopes plugins thank you and izotope, is really advanced beyond most others, I have never seen such a plugin capable of this kind of magic
I was thinking about getting RX10 and wanted this video to know exactly the features, and all along I was thinking about past situations where it could be super useful! I'm getting it right away!
Great video and great product. Still can't fathom why "Wow and flutter" is not in the subscription option. Surely all us oldies have many cassette recordings that could be fixed with this. Look after your subscribers and they will look after you!
hello. I am a user of RX10 Advanced. I am a beginner. The recording source beeps from beginning to end at a specific frequency. What menu should I use to solve this? Please help.
What’s new or better in RX10 to RX 9? Also, love to hear you clean up a live gig recording (off a camera or similar), to really see what’s possible with rx…
@@iZotopeOfficial thank you. I’d still love to see a video of restoration done with RX10 from poorly recorded live recordings replete with loud audience din. (Content suggestion)
How do I remove the "Cuh" sounds? For example, "breakCUH-up, to Make-CUHp", I've tried de-clip, de-click, voice de-noise and the "Cuh" just keeps screwing up the mix.
Let’s say all we have is the final mix WAV and we’re mastering. If the drums are low and we wanted to bring them up where would be the best place in the chain to add RX10? Would it be better to use it in the beginning or more towards the end?
We would advise exporting the mix and dragging it into the RX standalone application, then perform a gain boost on ‘percussion’ using Music Rebalance. When you’re happy with the results, export the file from RX.
All RX is missing now IMO is a Vocal and Chord tuning module where it learns the audio like de-noise and automatically tunes the vocal depending on what key youve selected. Also using the same module letting you fix untuned instruments. RX i best in class for audio repair
How do I set a position, a marker, that everytime I hit play it goes back to that spot? For multiple audition / adjust iterations. Here would be a nice feature, when I select a frequency range when I listen it only plays that frequency range.
Thank you for this! Question: I noticed you didn’t use De-Ess. If one needed to use that feature, where would that fall in the module chain order that you used? (De-Hum, De-Plosive, Mouth De-Click, De-Breath, Voice De-Noise) I know the order is important, but I have seen different orders listed by different people, so I’m always trying to figure out what is “correct”. (If there is such a thing!) ☺️
The order in which de-essing occurs is very subjective and depends on the judgement of the engineer. Ultimately, as long as de-essing is occurring before FX processing that raises the loudness of the vocal (like compression or additive EQ) you’re good to go.
@@iZotopeOfficial Thanks for your reply! I really appreciate it. Should Voice De-Noise (if used) always be at the end of the chain (like I listed above), but BEFORE any limiting, compression, EQ? (I’m a voice actor, and I try to do a limited amount of editing, so that what I give my clients sounds clean, but they can do any final compression/EQ tweaking they want. My environment isn’t sound-proofed enough to give completely RAW audio. But it IS sound treated!)
@@NikitaUnique yea i would use it like you use a de ess, before any plugins that make the audio louder like compression or additive eq. You do it that way so the plugin doesn't have to work as hard, as well as not getting rid of some of the sounds you brought up with compression or eq or just not working because those sounds are now masked. It can work both ways but ive always had best results using it early on, same as de ess.
Thank you for this great resource! I've been using RX mostly through intuition and by reading the labels lol but NOW I understand it better. Much thanks!
i just bought izotop rx 10 standart, i got this clip from a song that has a plane flying by on the background, can you help me showing how i can remove that so i can learn also.? friendly regard Dennis
Hi, I got the new RX, but still not able to use it well. Is there a detailed video how to get rid of things like piano bench squeaks, piano pedal thuds, sheet music page turnings, and other similar background noises happening during a live music performance?
Great video, Geoff. The aspect of committing to each Render still makes me wonder about how to keep track of changes done, but that's because I'm totally new to RX.
Hey Izotope… PLEASE add a “string buzz” module to your guitar de-noise. When I say string buzz… it’s usually because a finger on the fretboard is not pushing down quite hard enough and that particular note in a strummed chord buzzes. Sometimes I can get rid of unwanted string buzz with the spectral repair but it’s a pain in the butt. I would be very grateful for an additional string buzz module within the guitar de-noise. 🙏
54:30 About the wow and flutter, I might be limited to my headphones not being a professional one, I only have a gamer one from HyperX. But I tried to my best and listened multiple times and don't quite get the difference between the audios. What exactly should I look for to understand if I will need to use it or not?
Great software, and some of the best exemplar videos I've ever seen. Putting tricky concepts into clean language that easy to digest has been done masterfully here. Hats off, excellent
Excellent video, but I still have a problem that I can't deal with, maybe you can help. I'm using RX10 on a recording and it has divided the track into two components, Vocal and Other Instruments. The vocal is not too bad although there is some of the ukulele coming through, plus the backing vocal. In the other instruments the Ukulele playing dominates, which is good, but the vocals often come through. I'm assuming that some of the frequencies for the voice and ukulele may be the same and this could be the problem. I want to know how you would remove, if possible, these background sounds and leave the vocal and Other Instruments clean. Many thanks
Still no ARA for Cubase, Studio One, Reaper or any ARA supported DAWs? Funnily, Presonus and Celemony, created ARA in conjugation and yet, Izotope manages to exclude Presonus.
If Geoff's presentational skills ever become available as a plugin - I'm buying it.
Geoff is really great. One of the few channel i still get to learn on. Geoff and Dan both excellent high level teachers.
thats gold
Standalone version is also good too

Distinguishing between kick and bass is really pretty unbelievable. It's a miracle.

Really good job. You voice is perfect through whatever that monster of a mic is.

Good video, good update for the rx line. The subtle gui change is quite classy and the modules work great.
Ozone 10 when?!?!?I cant wait for it,i bought the standard version and I'm inpatient
im blown away by the first 20 mins of this video alone lol
Love this video however in your targets where is funk for things like james brown or parliament funkcidelic?
I can't even put into words how amazing you guys are. Without your innovative and intuitive plugins, music production would only be half as fun!

Just simple wow, great presentation.
👋 I don’t see audio suite help when I’m tryna send it to rx stand-alone other ways to send it I’m on fl studio
Hey, feel free to contact our product support team here if you need any help: bit.ly/izo_prod
Bonjour.
Merci pour tous vos super produits.
Est ce qu'il y des surfaces de control qui fonctionnent avec RX ? Merci.
Hero of the day wooooooow Thank you so much for sharing this!!
Good morning.
Thank you for all your great products.
Are there any control surfaces that work with RX? THANKS.
behoorlijk beter geworden door jaren software van hun blij mee merk beter word softwares
Geoff you're amazing i love the plugin its my go-to , but watching you deliver this just makes it even better , thanks for you effort man!
If you're interested in the RX 10 Advanced, I have it for $200
This is such a great tutorial. Clear and easy to implement. Thank you much needed.
Great teacher, Great software. 11/10
Excellent demonstration!!!
Excellent detail as always, great presentation style.
Is that any chance I can get the raw audio file in this video tutorial, so I can try and show my students later.
Thanks
Did they at least fix the issue where you have to quit and relaunch the software for it to notice that you plugged in headphones?

perfect video explaining perfectly and clearly how it works. Thanks
Thanks, great post.
Is there a way to correct pitch wobbling on a recording digitized from an old tape? Thanks !
There's a version of RX connect in Logic too, with the external audio editor! I love that workflow
Thank you man! It's realy helpful and hi level of quality content! Best of luck!

Fantastic tutorial 🌹💐👌👍
Another fantastic tutorial, thanks Geoff. Really enjoying my new Izotope tools.
Solid video, although I didn't see anything about crossfading which is a massive part of audio editing. Is that not possible in RX?
This video is so helpful and well done, thank you!
Very nicely explained.
Great video, but is there a video available for a more detailed use of the wow and flutter module?
Excellent, Thank you! I wish Izotope would do more real world videos.
