The person in this video is actually a Neural A-I Bot code named "Geoff". The bot is an experimental product from Izotope's super-secret under-the-building audio lab lair. I'd expect a new product named Izotope Altruist, soon. Expect a new release/update on April 1 of each year.
Great video and great product. Still can't fathom why "Wow and flutter" is not in the subscription option. Surely all us oldies have many cassette recordings that could be fixed with this. Look after your subscribers and they will look after you!
hello. I am a user of RX10 Advanced. I am a beginner. The recording source beeps from beginning to end at a specific frequency. What menu should I use to solve this? Please help.
I just added Nectar 4, Neutron 4, Ozone 11, RX 10 and a bunch of other stuff to my arsenal through a fantastic upgrade deal to Music Production Suite 6. Been binging Geoff's videos for all of these tools and I feel I've added several months of experience within a matter of hours. Awesome stuff!
Still no ARA for Cubase, Studio One, Reaper or any ARA supported DAWs? Funnily, Presonus and Celemony, created ARA in conjugation and yet, Izotope manages to exclude Presonus.
Man- I would see this video for all sorts of things .Learning is of course the most important. But also for relaxation and meditation. Izotope should be as proud of Geoff as of this update. Brilliant
RX10 and Ozone11 are amazing and have helped me to restore some of my most favorite music. Can't thank iZotope enough for making such fantastic audio tools!
This has been the most informative 57 minutes and 40 seconds of my professional life. I usually do all my surgical forensics manually in Audition's edit view. I've known about the RX 10's existence, but I have always preferred my comfort zone. THANK GOD I came across this video. You guys are AMAZING! I'm going to watch some videos about the RX 11 now. All in all, you have a new customer in me.
Game changer! This was so helpful. I am working on restoring some old recordings of people singing and speaking. This has been amazing to hear their voices come through.
i just bought izotop rx 10 standart, i got this clip from a song that has a plane flying by on the background, can you help me showing how i can remove that so i can learn also.? friendly regard Dennis
What’s new or better in RX10 to RX 9? Also, love to hear you clean up a live gig recording (off a camera or similar), to really see what’s possible with rx…
@@iZotopeOfficial thank you. I’d still love to see a video of restoration done with RX10 from poorly recorded live recordings replete with loud audience din. (Content suggestion)
As English isn’t my native language and furthermore the text analysis isn’t important for music, the remaining new features are still not convincing enough for me to upgrade. (Neither was Neutron 4). I still hope for Ozone 10. Maybe that release will give me impressive new features and a reason to upgrade the bundle. But so far… not worth upgrading.
How do I remove the "Cuh" sounds? For example, "breakCUH-up, to Make-CUHp", I've tried de-clip, de-click, voice de-noise and the "Cuh" just keeps screwing up the mix.
Hi, I got the new RX, but still not able to use it well. Is there a detailed video how to get rid of things like piano bench squeaks, piano pedal thuds, sheet music page turnings, and other similar background noises happening during a live music performance?
Thank you for this! Question: I noticed you didn’t use De-Ess. If one needed to use that feature, where would that fall in the module chain order that you used? (De-Hum, De-Plosive, Mouth De-Click, De-Breath, Voice De-Noise) I know the order is important, but I have seen different orders listed by different people, so I’m always trying to figure out what is “correct”. (If there is such a thing!) ☺️
The order in which de-essing occurs is very subjective and depends on the judgement of the engineer. Ultimately, as long as de-essing is occurring before FX processing that raises the loudness of the vocal (like compression or additive EQ) you’re good to go.
@@iZotopeOfficial Thanks for your reply! I really appreciate it. Should Voice De-Noise (if used) always be at the end of the chain (like I listed above), but BEFORE any limiting, compression, EQ? (I’m a voice actor, and I try to do a limited amount of editing, so that what I give my clients sounds clean, but they can do any final compression/EQ tweaking they want. My environment isn’t sound-proofed enough to give completely RAW audio. But it IS sound treated!)
@@NikitaUnique yea i would use it like you use a de ess, before any plugins that make the audio louder like compression or additive eq. You do it that way so the plugin doesn't have to work as hard, as well as not getting rid of some of the sounds you brought up with compression or eq or just not working because those sounds are now masked. It can work both ways but ive always had best results using it early on, same as de ess.
Only watched the first 6 min of this thus far, but have 1 question. Is that "first time user" slide show program available within the s/w for future reference? Geoff did not mention if it was or not, or where to find it. I want to get back to using RX 10. ONE other question----you said it could be used in mastering, and I have Studio One so Project Page for that, and you mention putting it on "a track".....well in Proj Pg, there's only one and it's the wav file, or is that what you meant by that comment. Thanks.
Is this app also useful in EDM production? All the examples here and also all the presets in the app seem to be oriented only to acoustic music/guitars and voice treatment....
I have a main melody sample with an arpeggio melody underneath. I want to separate the main melody from 2nd. I just purchased RX10 Advanced last night. Ive been studying this Izotope tutorial all morning. Someone please respond, thank you!
worst customer service experience ever, as they don't respond to my support tickets I can't call them I will have to go to Norwegian authorities and the media as by law I should qualify for a refund on something I've bought that I can't open even though my M1 Mac book pro and operating system match your product requirements and I've been asking for a refund via support tickets now for 3 days since I've bought it
54:30 About the wow and flutter, I might be limited to my headphones not being a professional one, I only have a gamer one from HyperX. But I tried to my best and listened multiple times and don't quite get the difference between the audios. What exactly should I look for to understand if I will need to use it or not?
Why are there no videos on the Azimuth or de-construck modules? Does no one use those? I do music audio restoration and most videos talk about speech/vocals, or mixing. Very short-sighted of Izotope's part.
Hi, great explanation video, thanks :) Have you also tried Spectralayers 10 pro ? If yes, what are the pros ans cons of each ? ( Irecord my music in Cubase 12)
Sorry but I have to speak honestly and for cleaning stuff up I would not waste time trying to do it with iZotope... iZotope was not forward looking or visionary enough so they completely missed the boat when it comes to artificial intelligence. RX 10's noise removal is really weak compared to Waves Clarity VX Pro. Sorry but it's true and I think being honest is more helpful. After using AI tools and then going back to RX it's painfully obvious that RX is from a previous generation older type of software.
All RX is missing now IMO is a Vocal and Chord tuning module where it learns the audio like de-noise and automatically tunes the vocal depending on what key youve selected. Also using the same module letting you fix untuned instruments. RX i best in class for audio repair
Hi guys I have this annoying static like noise on my recordings prob due to bad XLR cable it sounds like TV static almost like amp noise but more hissy is there anything on RX 10 that can sort that ? watching you talk about removing the noises from the amp got me thinking that what my static noise is its similar to the amp noise was thinking that plugin may work for my issue ? I am not expert though if someone could help that would be great 👍
How do I set a position, a marker, that everytime I hit play it goes back to that spot? For multiple audition / adjust iterations. Here would be a nice feature, when I select a frequency range when I listen it only plays that frequency range.
Hi Geoff thanks, I have a problem with a vocal noise hiss coming through, I'm wondering if the Guitar De-noise might work as i'm not getting the results I want with spectral or voice de-noise. What happens if we don't have just a portion of the noise profile? Is it because the adaptive mode (which i'm guessing is the answer to my question) is not able to pick out my noise correctly? I find that when I render it there is always too much trade off of vocal character. thanks for any help. anyone. new rx 10 standard user
Why not make the audio editor a DAW plugin??? Having to send it to the app via an effect is soo inefficient and makes the process of editing your audio much longer. A lot of people using your plugins for mixing and mastering in a DAW. Please fix this!
How do I select a certain part of the track to render when I use the time frequency selection tool I have highlighted a certain part but nothing seems to happen I am confused ?
I'm sooo happy I purchased RX during BLACK Friday!!! OMG! I had no idea the capabilities of this tool. I've been getting more and more clients/work for audio repair and engineering, and I've been working EXTRA hard using my built in DAW and cracked plugins that half way worked. Now that I have RX I'm confident I will make cleaner mixes faster. #SuperGrateful ☺
I have the subscription so I downloaded and installed RX10 last night. This video is super easy to understand, this guy is legit and I learned a few new things
I forgot and left the noisegate filter on as i recorded an interview...now some word are completely muted in my final audio is there a way to recover the audio from the muted areas?
Big fan of RX products...been using it since v3. Just a product suggestion... ever since RX7, I've been saving in FLAC format - it's lossless, half the size as WAV, and you can attach metadata to the file a la mp3 or aac formats. The problem with RX is, if I edit a FLAC I've already tagged with metadata, edit and save, RX overwrites my metadata with blanks. Since I clean up hundreds of audio files a year, going back to add metadata to my FLAC files is a major time suck. I've suggested this enhancement since RX7, but no joy yet. Given the depth of programming skill your company has, it would be a very simple addition that would save many hours of relabeling files. Interrogate the audio file, read the metadata in, save off to the side (cache, persist locally, whatever)...then on save or export, write that metadata back to the file. PLEASE add this feature. Thx
When a dev just has to do something once so their users don’t have to do it 100’s if not 1,000’s of times. It would seem a (very) simple task to code RX to not overwrite blank metadata when there is already metadata in place.
If Geoff's presentational skills ever become available as a plugin - I'm buying it.
Geoff is really great. One of the few channel i still get to learn on. Geoff and Dan both excellent high level teachers.
