    I used to ride and race motocross and discovered Simple Green mixed 50/50 with water in a pump up sprayer works awesome. Same basic process that you do but I used a pressure washer and rarely needed a brush for anything but the chain. So for my MTB I use your same process but with the simple green/water mix.....

    Decent vid. Re; spray lubricant/fork shock oils- a GREAT tip is to use supermarket carrier bags over the disks and calipers then spray as required. The silicone sprays tend to drift down from the fork seals etc so its a more reliable way to eliminate over spray wrecking your discs and pads.

    • @gmbn
      @gmbn  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One tip I use for the silicon spray on the frame is: use 2 plastic bags to cover each disk and then you can spray the silicon spray all over the bike without worring about the disks and pads ;) I do it always and then use a clean wrag to clean the excess! And with this method I ensure that the bike is full covered with the spray :D

      Chris Harding I'am not sure if that's a good idea using a spray lube on seals. Compounds used in such sprays usually damage the seals in a long run. Just clean your fork using bike cleaning soap push the fork several times clean and repeat .

    All good advice : Except I reckon :
    Silicon spray is a terrible idea to use in any area you intend to do any kind of painting in.
    The stuff never really goes away, and leaves pockets in your paint job (including any of the surrounding area where you spray it).

    Instead of silicone spray, I use spray was for cars, I have it handy because I’m an automotive detailer, it’s great and less harmful than silicone lube for brakes, I also put a coat of paste wax on my bike every time i do a deep clean, about every month or so, it helps remove dirt easily

    I'd like to see this done again with a proper dirty bike. I have ditched sprays in favour of a bucket and a sponge again, the sprays just don't cut it for proper mud, storing my bike inside means I notice those hard to reach areas more than I used to now.
