I also enjoyed seeing your beautiful Christmas decor. So charming and inviting. I also have a similar Christmas tree story and its funny when we thought we were so poor we were actually very rich. I am often envious of christmases celebrated in the northern hemisphere. They seem so magical. Instead of snow and candlelight, I’ll be enjoying the Australian summer with sun, sand and sunscreen; prawns, presents and perspiration. He is the reason, whatever the season.
I spent Christmas in the sun and sand one year and it was FABULOUS! And you are right, "He is the reason, whatever the season"!

Your video brought me joy. The book was lovely of course being a fan of the series. You think of everything. Even the paper music in the typewriter. I love the plaid and the warmth of the reds. I usually make a trifle but not everyone likes it as much as me. I have my Christmas crackers ready and introducing my blue and white chinosserie into the decor.

I read some years ago that when they were restoring the paintwork in one of the rooms they realised that the door frames were actually cupboards painted over many times and when they prised them open they were full of Egyptian artifacts from Lord Carnarvon's days as an Egyptologist.
I saw that on a documentary. Can you imagine that? What a treasure. The documentary was so interesting as it was only about the archeological digs and discoveries made while financed by Lord Carnarvon and it even touched on the supposed curse that caused his death.

And in all of that the real reason for a Christmas has been lost…which is to give for the needy, whether in need of material things or in need of spiritual comfort. 😢😢😢
I finally have a big, beautiful cedar inside and out 5500 sq ft home to decorate with all my stuff, and now Im too sickly to get it done. I ask anyone who watches this to please pray for me. Thanks

My first Christmas tree was very much like yours. I bought the tree and some lights. I didn't have any ribbon, so I bought a package of red pipe cleaners that I fashioned into bows.
I love Christmas and it was that year that made me realize Christmas isn’t in a store, but rather in ones heart. Of course, I still wanted all the decorations, but my heart was decorated and that was enough!

This book is a representation of how the family at Highclere prepares and celebrates Christmas. The Christmas tree represents Jesus Christ's birth and resurrection. The tree branches and bushes are regarded as a sign of immortality and are thought to represent Christ's crown of thorns on the crucifixion. Likewise, many ornaments used to decorate the Christmas tree are believed to have a specific meaning. Christmas tree lights signify the light of God's spirit. The Christmas wreaths represents God's boundless love for humanity with no beginning or end. Throughout the book there are many other symbolic representations of the birth of Jesus.
