Musician extraordinaire!! She's got everything, voice, string wizardry, songwriting chops, Jeeeeezzz...and that face❤.....The only problem I have watching her perform is that I develop this strange impulse to make a flowerpot out of my guitar
Sei bravissima a suonare questa musica melodica che a me piace molto. Io ascolto sempre le tue canzoni, perché mi rendono felice. Tutto questo proviene dal tuo cuore e dall'anima che c'è in te. Grazie mille ciao.
This sort of reminds me of Jean Luc Ponty from way back there in the late 70’s! The musicianship here is superb and the vocals amazing. ... remember that country song; Who’s Gonna Fill their Shoes by George Jones, ... now we know! So much young Bluegrass talent around everywhere! Wow! I’m very happy about it!
@@treatb09 Eric and I are observing that this is the first we've ever seen her put down her pick and play claw hammer style. She does it well, especially because claw hammer is a banjo style.
It’s so refreshing and exciting to see uber talented young people such as Molly out there performing. I’ve been inspired by Clarence, Doc, Tony, and now Molly. Life is good.
New fan from scotland here. You are awesome!! Been watching over some of your youtube videos, and i am blown away with your insane shredding skills on the zinger. All the best, and may the force be with you!
Yikes, this version is simply fantastic. The whole reinvention thing is going up like a bottle rocket! Thanks for the work, MT!! (And ignore any nay-sayers, just ignore it)
Nice treat for tonight. Glad I came back for more and read the post! Maybe finally forced my hand to become a member at PBS. Came close with Burns' Country project. This'll push me over the top :-)
Great tune, arrangement, and performance. You've developed a great voice to match and compliment those guitar skills. :) Thanks for posting. Enjoyed it quite a bit and will listen to this often.
Do it. I drove nearly 3 hours from Cincinnati to see her for the first time last year, fortunately she'll be just 20 min. from here next month :-) So wherever you are in the UK, make the trip when she's there next!
Wow. That gave me goosebumps. (And that clawhammer was flat out amazing!!) (And I just saw that you're going to be at the Birchmere on Sunday April 26th. My birthday is on the 29th. I think I'll give myself a birthday present!!) :-D
There not as rare as you might think in the bluegrass world,Sam bush, leftover Salmon, railroad earth all bluegrass based bands that have drummers, and even some from way back like,Jimmy Martin, and the Osborn brothers wold sometimes add a snare drum.
I miss the banjo and upright bass being in the band. The addition of the electric guitars and drums would communicate a modern take on bluegrass more effectively if it didn't also involve those subtractions, IMO. Replacing them feels like a prelude to a genre crossover, _a la_ Taylor Swift, whom I've always felt pretty much dissed country music when she migrated over to pop, and never looked back, to the point of ditching events and never recording another country riff. "Dance with the one what brung ya," isn't just a colloquially accented version of an old saying -- it's respect to a genre and a fan base who love an artist as a member of a family. Artistic range and flexibility doesn't have to crossover genres to not feel cramped or limiting. Many, in fact most artists of great depth, versatility, skill and talent, succeed for their entire lives within the original genre in which they came to fame, enriching and contributing to it. I dearly hope this will be the case for our beloved Molly, and that she will not take Ms Swift's ostensibly more glamorous journey....
I wouldn't go that far,and i wouldn't mention Molly and that other girl in the same sentence, but I've seen Molly five times, the last with this band and didn't find that I really enjoy the band that much,I don't care if she want's to explore other musical sound ,but this doesn't come off that well.I'm only interested in hearing electric guitars in Molly's music if she's playing them.the problem i have had with this new album and this band is it doesn't fit or add anything to the songs she has written, and some of the songs I just don't care for.there are other people in bluegrass doing the same kind of thing adding electric instruments when they don't make it sound better. if you go electric you really have to change the way you play, but it's her music, and her choice i only get to choice if i keep listening or not.I did see her in Denver last month with a Bluegrass all star Band that was awesome.th-cam.com/video/WNcbyLk2Miw/w-d-xo.html
@@mbsnyderc I agree about the exploring, and I do enjoy some of her non-bluegrass offerings. The odd experimentation with other genres is one thing, and any artist will want to scratch that itch from time to time. But those of us who love her in her original element will be holding our breath until she finds her way home. Also agree with the new instrumentation not adding anything to the old favorites. Those songs have a certain feel that electric just doesn't convey. It would be like trying to accompany 'Little Maggie' with either a classical harpsichord or a next-gen synthesizer app -- just doesn't work.
Very good Molly BUT no drums an no electric bass for Bluegrass. I also know you are trying to get away from being typecast as just bluegrass. Keep up the good music
Yeah I saw her last Sunday first Time with this band all the other time I've seen her where bluegrass band's I love Molly ,but this didn't work for me.I don't think she needs to play only bluegrass, but the band didn't fit many of the songs an didn't add much of what I started watching her for someone else might love this, but I'm not sure this mix is working in her favor some people walk out on the show, but I can say the same for other bluegrass musicians recent projects if you work with drums and electric instrument's you need to change a lot of how you write and play.then there is no point in calling it bluegrass.I do love this Song and the claw hammer guitar just not this band with it.
But how sympathetic was the drummer, to Molly, to the style, to the song and to the clawhammer rhythm. It was a perfect match. Maybe not bluegrass, but it certainly was great music. :)
If a musician makes no effort to evolve, then their passion + inspiration are gonna fade pretty quickly. I find each of her performances more captivating than the last tbh
Let's not forget that amazing drummer
Flawless clawhammer, lovely vocal, compelling lyric, beautiful lady! We love our Molly!
don't forget to eat your num nums, bitchboy
I love Molly's voice, her style and creativity !!
Emmylou to the next level !! :))
The song, the performance … everything … is a masterpiece!
Yesssss I found the claw hammer guitarist and vocalist I wanted in my life!!!!! Super happy what a gorgeous talent
GO , Molly ! Fan since 2015

Her talent is incredible. She always blows me away.
Yeah, is a real Big Talent, but is incredible much work too!
Talent sounds like this every once in a while. When it is big. This is good.

Well, Look what I found. What a night to be on youtube!
That technique is out of this world. Molly is a fine guitar picker
Molly is one of the best flatpickers in the world.
Molly: "hold my pick and watch this clawhammer"
I know Molly is far too humble to say this.
Hahaha!
Only seein' this first time now (in Dec 2020) -- exactly your comment was my first thought: "Molly does clawhammer!"
Shes not holding a pick

WHAT the heck is that right hand technique? Amazing, incredible, and the vocal--just wow.
Clawhammer. That OG banjo technique

Worthy company, indeed!
The beauty displayed on the cover of Acoustic Guitar is rivaled only by that of your voice & your musicianship. Stunning!
She is amazing.....great band too....
She makes it look so easy.
She’s just perfect
Molly you are an amazing artist in so many ways, and beautiful as well!
Molly you absolutely crushed it on this, nicely done!!
Great performance! Thanks

Timid Badass. Like her music, soft at times with Tony Rice runs other times. Take the Journey 🤙🤙
I love this song ❤❤❤❤❤❤

You are my favourite guitar girl
C'mon, stand up, I know it ain't easy, but didn't Molly and the band deserve a standing O for that knockout performance?

What happened to her eyes and triangular pick?
She doesn't use a triangular pick.and this is claw hammer guitar she does a few songs in this style ever show.
The ayes have it, the eyes are fine.
I noticed her eyes, too. They looked slightly crossed.
Ted Hart I have squint issue that’s exacerbated when I’m tired, She’s probably no different.
The pick is a Dunlop 207 jazz pick very thick, and the last time I saw her play it was pretty worn down, almost round in shape.
