I personally think it is not worth it to run undead cape until 8.1 equivalent or higher. On lower tier, your set should be expendable and a different cape can often help you win trades and fights. In addition, undead is the most expensive cape so it is not worth using imo unless you are protecting an expensive set. On equal ip, other capes will often beat undead cape. As such, I would only use undead cape if you expect to have higher ip than most of your opponents (aka you are running high tier high specs)

I've been pvp'ing for more than 1k hours in Albion, I tried most of the hoods with max Ip, I can agree with you on the most points, but I'd also add a few things for the curse players that are good for othet weapons too, hunter hood scales good the higher the Ip the opponent has, you can use lower tiers than your weapon/armor/off hand to trick your opponent when it comes to avg Ip(killed awakened players by just not using cape and lower Ip boots and head piece). For the boots I'd also say to not use wonderlust at all if you're not prepared to die to high Ip purge gankers or you know you can kill the enemy in your first rotation. As for undead cape I'd say to first spec your main builds trees properly and then start learning how to use it, you'll get more fight using no capes at all or one that works on your build on low tier no more than 4.3(cost efficiency).
Yeah. It's a good point that hunter hood scales with your opponent's IP somewhat. It's still not difficult to play around for a thinking player but you might be able to bait higher IP aggressive players in and gain a lot of value from the reflect sometimes. The idea of lowering your average IP to get into better fights is absolutely correct! I mentioned parts of it in my Item Power video and I do it as well. Some items are worth upgrading and some not so much.
@@VicZaneGaming I checked out that video also, I couldn't agree more, usually mistakes always happen especially in the heat of the moment when the enemy doesn't have time to react properly, the problem in this is game is that most of the veterans hide their ways of doing things as there is still a lot of RMT going around, when I started playing I had to check at least 100 videos until I found a good content creator that explains what he's doing and why, in the end is trial and error, meta doesn't change often so it's worth mastering 1-2 build for starters and go from there. I'm more of an entertainer when it comes to this game but I also try to give a few tips when it comes to my main builds. I'm glad to see someone that goes into details even tho it will make competion grow faster as oposed to the other creators, a good fight always makes my day even if I die so keep on doing it 🔝👌👑
Love your videos as always❤, cause they are so informative. Hope you can do more spear matchups, winning cons, what to do to counter a certain build, or sth like that.
Atm I'm leveling swords with leather hoods, armor, and plate boots. It seems to be a very popular setup in general with swords, and I personally really like how the mercenary hood plays so I'm kinda drawn to that. But recently I've also seen someone playing swords with Guardian helmet and cloth sandals instead and it makes me also want to use that. The "block" that the guardian helmet has seems so useful, while the energy sustain from the cloth boots seems more useful than health regen. I'm a bit deep into the armor I'm leveling atm though, so it feels like I should try and stick with it so I can actually get stronger and spec up instead of changing stuff around constantly
I can share from my experience that I am happy I stuck with one thing for long even when it seemed like there are other options. It's nice to know one type of build very well before making too many changes. But at the same time, there's benefit to trying what others are playing too. The guardian helmet is very reliably useful and amazing for a bit of extra bait. The soldier helmet which I guess you meant since you mentioned "block" can absolutely save you if you time it well but it's a bit easier for opponent to just ignore you for 2.5 sec and then continue like nothing happened. People play energetic sprint a lot because there are builds that simply require it and so it's beneficial to spec it up in case you do later want to play one of those builds. For dual swords both seem good options, for carving I think you don't need energy enough to give up on the heal.
@VicZaneGaming it was the guardian helmet yeah. I think I'm just a bit nervous about which path to lvl cuz it all takes so long. I like merc helmet a lot cuz it's pretty versatile, but I usually don't see people using it on videos. Carving players pretty much only use fiend cowl, or hunter hood for budget
Thanks! I'm not sure that I can help that much with arcane. It's not at all popular in the mists so I haven't seen many recently. I know that it's quite versatile though in terms of builds. If I had to go into the mists with 1h arcane right now, I'd get muisak, assassin jacket and any plate boots. Merc jacket is more popular but I don't like it that much. For helmet, I'd choose something for extra damage like cowl of purity or mage cowl. For cape, thetford is probably the easiest to get value from. But remember, I'm not really an arcane player myself!
You are not alone! I've started getting this specific question quite often. My best answer after all the EU dual swords experience is to prepare for a long fight and not try to win it too quickly, even if it seems like you are doing well. Since it's quite risky to commit to a brawl I try to always keep either my E or boots ready to be able to space and kite a bit. Especially if they still have their merc jacket ready. Looking back at my own clips I've realised that usually I win against duals only if I'm able to dodge their W or E about 2 times and lose or disengage if they manage to hit me every time.
Use cripple. Never engage into them with E, poke them with Q's and make them W and walk in. Cripple off the Q buff to get brawl advantage. Never use your E untill they E and try to dash through them before the damage lands, they are immune to knock up during their E. If the E damage lands you have to E knock up and reset the fight once again. You have to use your E to go thru them dealing damage and dodging there E. If you can make them fail a E you can go after them for another cripple to end the fight. If a dual sword lands any E in the fight on you then you will lose. You need to never take E damage and always same E to knock up them during Merc jacket and kite. If they heal of mobs it'll be a longer fight.
Honestly it sounds really awesome although a bit niche. For some extra kiting potential it could work but probably only worth it for bows or frost staffs. On 1h spear, for example, I think merc hood or helm of valor will be more valuable in 90% of fights. I've seen 2santos do it on Badon quite effectively though.
i saw a couple of dagger kill themselves against a hunter hood shield, but in my stage of very begginer when i loose al my fights becouse i use tier 5 an i have 100 spect only in my jacket, i just enter on panic start to launch all my damage skills plus the hunter hood praying the enemy kill himselve jajaja, no kidding im too new for this videos i really took them as masterclass and will see it again and will take some notes i guess. thanks a lot for such valuable content sr!
Great video as always. I have a question tho, about how to fight kite builds wth spear, these builds i struggle with the most, cuz we both usually have a mobility ability and boots, so i can't close the gap.
Thank you! If kiters like bows or frost staffs do everything correctly, you can't catch them right away. But in my experience it often takes just one mistake on their part and you're in. Usually this happens when you turn around to space away from them and they use their mobility to catch up and keep attacking. One thing I love doing is using my boots as if I'm disengaging and try to bait them to use boots after which I can E into them and cripple and have a big advantage. The tricky part is knowing your limit well enough to lose just enough HP to bait them into chasing you but not too much that you will then just die. Since I use stalker hood, I have a way to counter their assassin jacket which makes this much easier. Without it, it can be a bit of a matter of luck if you are able to stick to them after their invis or not.
Very nice video! I learn a lot from all your videos. I am a beginner and I playing wild staff now. My gear is soldier helmet, mercenary jacket and mage sandals. I love nature staff and maybe will have sword tree as secondary weapon. Do you have any suggestion? Do I need to change my gear or any better replacement? I love PVE more than PVP. I know that PVP is also a part of this game so I accept losing all my gear but I am a new player so I don't play much silver to buy expensive gear. I am trying my best to do solo dungeon to earn more silver. Thank you for all your good contents that help me a lot!
Very glad to know that you are finding it helpful! Nature staff is kind of a good choice if you are more focused on PvE while tipping your toes in PvP here and there. I used to occasionally come across some amazing blight staff players who were good at using it in Mists PvP but lately I haven't seen any :( I haven't played enough nature staffs to know if you really need the mage sandals. I can only point out that almost all natures I've seen in EU mists have been on plate boots. By the way, you've probably heard this already but solo dungeons are pretty bad for silver. Even if you die kinda often, you will end up making a lot more in the mists.
Huntee hood hard counters meta stalker jacket builds. It also is a stabel on the buget dual reflect battle axe build. And it is a ez no u button againts one shot builds
For sure it's possible to get value out of it but despite the cases you mentioned I believe it's way overused and overvalued right now. For most mist situations and against thinking opponents, there are many better options out there!
@VicZaneGaming yea i agree that it is over used atm. The only good builds at that use it istr dubble battle axe reflect one and the frost that is made to hunt down blood letters
I don't like it personally but it's still strong in corrupteds so why not. One strength it has is that it's specifically good against many meta corrupted builds like fire staffs.
im not a spear guy im a bow player "mainly longbow atm" and with the "face tank" build there isn't much i can change i guess oö hunter hood seems nice, but a lot of times just feels lack luster or ppl just ignore it completely...
as prob 10000h+ mists pvper, yes hunter hood was nerfed, buuut for me only pvp that matters is killing 300ip and more above me people and biggest value and biggest chance of that is hunter hood, i tried all helmets, they all can be good, but when facing 300ip difference or more, purges or any other shit just doesnt make any difference, they totally suck, if i wanna kill big bois i need reflect their burst dmg to them its my only real chance, so tornado armor skill and hunter hood is ABSOLUTE must if uwanna run cheap gear and kill gucci geared people on a regular all other items sucks balls, maybe cleric robe is the only other option
Sounds like you've found your personal style in Albion and that's awesome. Especially since it seems like you have thought about it deeper than vast majority of mist players ever will! I hope you also see that your approach is a bit niche. However, if you are able to find inexperienced high IP players consistently and bait them to be overaggressive then I'm sure you get good enough value of your hunter hood to justify being a bit weaker in same IP fights! Good luck out there, man!!
Some alrwady said that but vack at the na server the only reason icould kill others with higher ip was hunterhood they saw me as easy target and would just use everything at the start (mostly in hunter hood) which left them with nearly half hp
Yeah it is possible to get value out of hunter hood. And it will be more valuable against less experienced opponents who will fail to react to it. Regardless, it is quite overvalued and overused in the mists right now. In fact, consider the chance that you are wrong in thinking that the hunter hood is the 'only reason' you were able to get the kills you remember. Maybe you have become quite skilled and could profit a lot more in PvP from branching out to other helmets.
I'm going to analyse some BL kills in an upcoming video which might be helpful to you. Generally, bloodletter's strength comes from overwhelming mobility so if you are not taking advantage of that you won't usually win. Your goal is to do damage with the stalker jacket and then just avoid them until your next rotation. On top of this, bloodletter is very hard to catch so if you lose a trade you can usually reset the whole fight. If you just force your opponent into a brawl then you will usually lose even with an IP advantage.
I think that in the Mists, it suffers from the same problem as most creative boots solutions. For many experienced players you will be a free fight because they can usually just run away if they want. However, it's possible to make it work with enough game knowledge AND some other mobility tools. You would need a weapon which has good mobility on it's skills (probably a dagger like deathgivers or a sword like carving) and you will need your helmet to be either a purge or duskweaver helmet. That can work but you'll have to accept that often you'll have to just watch your enemy run away.
4:35 the enemy knows you already want to leave the fight and then they activate their reflect to make you hit them instead? What? I am completely lost how that makes sense
They can't make me hit them but because they use hunter hood they get to hit me for a second or two longer since I really don't want to E through them before it ends.
@@VicZaneGaming oooh, you dont want your e DMG to get reflected...yeah now i get it Thanks for the explanation I really like your Videos. I wish you had more series like your Spearvideos. Thanks
I haven't really played fire for a very long time. If I were to go into the mists right now with 1h fire, I would for sure want a purge so I'd get helmet of valor. For chest, I'd start out with cleric robe and look to change to feyscale later on when I get used to my build. I would use mistcaller, any plate boots on rejuvenating sprint and thetford cape. Hope these ideas can be useful but remember that I'm not really a fire staff player!
I personally would prefer merc jacket. Even when your enemy is ready to counter it, you can sometimes proc it 2-4 times before they react. Ever since they nerfed hellion to lifesteal 50% on mobs i don't feel like it's very strong in mists. But if you are mindful of creeps and camps around you, its possible to make a big play with it.
No. There is no way to get another player out of their mistwalker jacket. Only the user of the jacket themselves can interrupt it early. If you meant that enemy is in undead cape AND mistwalker jacket then i'm 90% sure that it's also no although i cannot remember seeing this interaction.
You are not alone. It seems like almost everyone is having problems with dual swords right now. I think 1h spear is still a decent option against it. In my experience on EU with all the dual swords is that I can win if it's a longer fight and I manage to dodge some of their E-s and W-s. If they hit them all, they will win (or I disengage after crippling off their boots). Also welcome to the spear club!
There is a big thing you missed about hunter hood. And it is that it can win a fight vs a higher tier opponent. This is why you see hunter hood paired with mercenary jacket on so many builds. Players start with low tier basic builds that give them a chance of fighting in the mist. And hunter hood is amazing for low tier builds. It is not a beginner item. It is a low tier item. Same goes for cleric cowl. Although you don't see it much in mists, I can't count how many stalker jacket players I killed by cleric cowling their main combo. Low tier meta is different than high tier meta.
I think you are making 2 decent points - firstly that your item selection should depend on what IP you're going and secondly that hunter hood can gain extra value based on your opponents' IP. But I don't agree with your conclusion and I think hunter hood still falls very short of amazing. I think it is overrated and most players would be better off exploring other helmets as soon as they get more comfortable at mists pvp, even when they decide to go in 4.1 for example.
@@VicZaneGaming The problem with other helms is that they don't provide enough value for you to beat a higher tier opponent. Maybe you could go with cultist cowl but that is going to be more expensive than a whole 4.1 build. The key in beating an opponent who outmatches you is completely countering his main abillities and finnishing the fight fast. Hunter hood and cleric cowl allow that and the long cooldown doesn't matter in these scenarios. You finish the fight fast or the IP wins. It is a high risk/high reward playstyle that is the best for pvp fame/ silver at low tiers. And for this reason many newbies play these builds. If you want to go for fair 4.1 vs 4.1 fights then other options will become better.
Yeah I think you're right. It can be a conscious choice to only target higher IP players and hope that they are inexperienced and will become overly aggressive. I personally dislike any strategy which relies too much on opponents making mistakes but I see the idea. And it's awesome that there can be such variety in playstyles in Albion!
@@VicZaneGaming i was just expecting some words for choosing chest piece too while watching, when it did not happen i wanted to write down it here, i wonder what do you think with chest piece choosing.
as someone who played multiple mmorpgs and league of legends sadly I don't understand why merc hood is still unchanged in this game since every single build can pretty much use it as it does 4 fucking things lol (damage + 3 utilities) damage + a slow + refuce damage + interrupt spell casting ?? :o. btw i'm abusing it untill it gets changed ;) great video not many of albion creators go in depth in pvp they just gate keep that informations so that they can win more fights hahahahah and you are right about the hunter hood I mainly use it know when I go with my cheap fire staff or cursed rat set to give me 3 sec of DR + all these retarded blood letter/double bladed players will use stalker jacket into it however since some are getting smarter with purges or getting away from me i started considering the mistwalker hood with cleric for more immunity time
You're right, the merc hood does feel a bit like a random collection of effects. But at least when it became popular it added some variety instead of purge-only meta from before. And thank you!
Open world is similar to mists but you will come up against a lot of bigger groups. Admittedly I haven't done pvp in open world for quite some time but I'm sure it's still like that. It's rare to find 1v1 and generally you will be outnumbered. Corrupted dungeons are quite different because there is much less room to kite and reset the fight. It's going to be much more brawl-heavy and mobility will be less valuable there. There is much less room to kite around your opponent so most popular mists builds like double-bladed, bloodletter, carving and even 1h spear will not be able to get as much value from their toolkit. CC, on the other hand, is very strong in corrupteds because you can take advantage of the environment to do damage to your enemy.
u obviously havent try asia mist, people there either use prowling or bloodletter stalker jacket, and hunter hood serve as the best counter. inferno shield will just get purge by prowling build, or out cd by stalker jacket. Carving also got wrecked as they are so predictable with the w+e combo. Ur skill matter guys, not the equipment
You're absolutely right that skill matters a lot! However, choosing items is still a relevant and fun part of the game. While it can certainly give you value against inexperienced higher ip gankers, hunter hood is currently way overused in the mists.
Valid strategy if you consciously decide that your focus is baiting in higher IP but less experienced players! Hunter hood can still work for sure but it is way overvalued and overused at the moment.
I'm not sure I understand what you wanted to say. Spear W reflect can be very strong in some very specific matchups but I hope you understand that this doesn't affect how strong the hunter hood is.
One thing I like about Hunter hood though is it’s punch up value. As it is a % reflect, it gets more value vs higher ip opponents, which I frequently face

Thank you !! The spear matchups question has become so common that I'm absolutely looking at that!
Great video as usual. Thank you
Atm I'm leveling swords with leather hoods, armor, and plate boots.
The amount of in depth info asked me to sub 👍
Great video bro, can you give me some advice for arcane staffs pvp? I'm having trouble on creating a correct built
Hey! Great video!! Do you have suggestions for spear matchups against dual swords? I keep dying to dual swords for some reason!
@@VicZaneGaming Thanks!!
@@magichat66Thanks!!
returning player and you're teaching me so much!
Thank you!
I'm very glad to hear that !!
Hey mate. Ty for good advices. İ have a question. What u say for Specter hood for reset assasin jacket ability.
@@VicZaneGaming ty for answer. See u 👍
i saw a couple of dagger kill themselves against a hunter hood shield, but in my stage of very begginer when i loose al my fights becouse i use tier 5 an i have 100 spect only in my jacket, i just enter on panic start to launch all my damage skills plus the hunter hood praying the enemy kill himselve jajaja, no kidding im too new for this videos i really took them as masterclass and will see it again and will take some notes i guess. thanks a lot for such valuable content sr!
I used to occasionally come across some amazing blight staff players who were good at using it in Mists PvP but lately I haven't seen any :(
I haven't played enough nature staffs to know if you really need the mage sandals. I can only point out that almost all natures I've seen in EU mists have been on plate boots.
By the way, you've probably heard this already but solo dungeons are pretty bad for silver. Even if you die kinda often, you will end up making a lot more in the mists.
11:00 почему ты не сказал про королевские сандалии?
that was very useful and interesting. Thx
thank you for this content it really helps ❤
Very good video, thank you!
Do you suggest to keep the hunter hood in corrupted dungeons
I don't like it personally but it's still strong in corrupteds so why not. One strength it has is that it's specifically good against many meta corrupted builds like fire staffs.
another super video 🎉
Thank you!!
im not a spear guy im a bow player "mainly longbow atm" and with the "face tank" build there isn't much i can change i guess oö hunter hood seems nice, but a lot of times just feels lack luster or ppl just ignore it completely...
Make a spear guide , you're so smooth playing this weapon!
There you go - th-cam.com/play/PLGB7kNPt2z429VXCi6u6AAt6-W9iOJZoB.html
I'm very much addicted to the 1h spear :)
as prob 10000h+ mists pvper, yes hunter hood was nerfed, buuut for me only pvp that matters is killing 300ip and more above me people and biggest value and biggest chance of that is hunter hood, i tried all helmets, they all can be good, but when facing 300ip difference or more, purges or any other shit just doesnt make any difference, they totally suck, if i wanna kill big bois i need reflect their burst dmg to them its my only real chance, so tornado armor skill and hunter hood is ABSOLUTE must if uwanna run cheap gear and kill gucci geared people on a regular all other items sucks balls, maybe cleric robe is the only other option
I keep dying with bloodletter :( and i have 100specs aswell... any tips my g
What do you think about assassin shoes unique ability
I think that in the Mists, it suffers from the same problem as most creative boots solutions. For many experienced players you will be a free fight because they can usually just run away if they want. However, it's possible to make it work with enough game knowledge AND some other mobility tools.
You would need a weapon which has good mobility on it's skills (probably a dagger like deathgivers or a sword like carving) and you will need your helmet to be either a purge or duskweaver helmet. That can work but you'll have to accept that often you'll have to just watch your enemy run away.
very informative you just earn a sub :D
:D
Thank you!
You should setup a submission email so that users can submit PVP clips and you can comment on what went wrong.
I thought of this recently as well. I'm going to figure something like this out soon I think! Thank you for reminding me :)
Top content!
Thank you!!
4:35 the enemy knows you already want to leave the fight and then they activate their reflect to make you hit them instead?
What? I am completely lost how that makes sense
They can't make me hit them but because they use hunter hood they get to hit me for a second or two longer since I really don't want to E through them before it ends.
@@VicZaneGaming oooh, you dont want your e DMG to get reflected...yeah now i get it
Thanks for the explanation
I really like your Videos. I wish you had more series like your Spearvideos. Thanks
Could u recommend a fire build for mists?
I haven't really played fire for a very long time.
If I were to go into the mists right now with 1h fire, I would for sure want a purge so I'd get helmet of valor. For chest, I'd start out with cleric robe and look to change to feyscale later on when I get used to my build. I would use mistcaller, any plate boots on rejuvenating sprint and thetford cape.
Hope these ideas can be useful but remember that I'm not really a fire staff player!
what about merc jacket vs hellion in 1v1 fights
I personally would prefer merc jacket. Even when your enemy is ready to counter it, you can sometimes proc it 2-4 times before they react. Ever since they nerfed hellion to lifesteal 50% on mobs i don't feel like it's very strong in mists. But if you are mindful of creeps and camps around you, its possible to make a big play with it.
Is it true that stalker hood can reveal mistwalker jacket
No. There is no way to get another player out of their mistwalker jacket. Only the user of the jacket themselves can interrupt it early.
If you meant that enemy is in undead cape AND mistwalker jacket then i'm 90% sure that it's also no although i cannot remember seeing this interaction.
Nice video bro, thx. +1
I cant see any other way to kill fire mage except hunter hood :(
who remembers the cleric robe graveguard helm meta?
yeah, got to a point where I feel like.. wth why so much people suggests hunter hood? 😀
I maxed my spear just because of u ...but im suc with it .. especially against duel sword guys lol...
What about chest piece?
I'm not sure what you mean by that.
It is reworked, merc hood used to be the shared spell on all leather it used to reduce attack speed instead of damage
Why is Mist PVP different to open world PVP and corrupted dungeon PVP?
And YES, I know, this shows I am absolutely new to the game.
@@VicZaneGaming thanks a lot for giving me a heads up. 👍
u obviously havent try asia mist, people there either use prowling or bloodletter stalker jacket, and hunter hood serve as the best counter. inferno shield will just get purge by prowling build, or out cd by stalker jacket.
I use full demon armor.
Tbh i'd rather use hunter hood as low tier.. too many bloodletters and double bladeds in the mists with stalker jacket
Valid strategy if you consciously decide that your focus is baiting in higher IP but less experienced players! Hunter hood can still work for sure but it is way overvalued and overused at the moment.
hunter hood .. infernal shield .. spear reflect .. CD go brrrrrr
Very valid for corrupteds!
i allways die even after 6 am in the morning! hahah

So true.

every item in albion online is useless if I use it in pvp...
Spear player, like noob in the shell. Using 100% reflect build every time against fire staff or etc and advise ppl Dnt use hunter hood 😂😂😂
I'm not sure I understand what you wanted to say. Spear W reflect can be very strong in some very specific matchups but I hope you understand that this doesn't affect how strong the hunter hood is.
you are really quiet
