- For the first time in our life, we saw a Padma Shri awardee and the award. We were in search of few offbeat destinations in and near Jaipur and came to know about Bagru village were Bagru printing is one of the main sources of livelihood.
When we went there, initially it was quite disappointing as we were not able to find a place were printing is being held. luckily we were able to find the best one we could ever get in the field of Bagru printing. Padma Shri R.K. Derawala is a great legend who has won Padma Shri award in the year 2009 for his excellence in his work. The visuals that we saw inside his printing factory are mind-blowing.
Manu, grandson of Shri R K Derawala took us around with a lot of enthusiasm and explained each section really well. Each work is being held in separate work stations with a large number of workforce. We also bought a few materials from there as we didn't want to miss such a great chance. Later we headed to a Kerala restaurant in Jaipur which, took a part of us back to Kerala. You cannot miss this one at all.
