Imagine the truealerts going off in the middle of the night. Really scary sounding, considering how loud these alarms are. I've heard Truealerts in person years ago, and they were very loud.
TrueAlerts in a bedroom would be scary to me staying in an apartment for a full school year only because a false alarm at 3am at least once is almost inevitable! The place I stayed for work last year had a Spectralert advance in the sleeping room! One night there was enough!
I had a similar situation in a hotel I was staying in late last year. A System Sensor SWA right smack dab in the bathroom. Was awkward always going in there xD. Never understood it, considering there was another alarm right next to it outside of the bathroom. Alaways nice to see video's like theses by the way!
In addition to the system having LF sounders if it were built today, you’d probably just have a smoke detector and the LF sounder / strobe given how advanced ES panels are. Also great that the sounder bases can sync with the TrueAlert ES’s
If I got an ADA room like that, I would go right down to the main office and request a non-ADA room. Having a Truealert in a bedroom (and in the apartment) is downright scary.
I wonder if those smoke detectors have a delay circuit wired into the main fire alarm system where if you don't get it silenced within a set amount of time it will set off the main system. The residence hall I stayed at my last semester of college did
Unrelated, but with some systems that have remote strobes in a bathroom with a shower, why is it that some have regular indoor appliances, while others have weatherproof remote strobes? Could it have anything to do with the shower steam?
Hey! Speaking of ADA and accessibility: From now on, all new videos are going to be captioned! Auto-Captions are turned on for older videos for the time being, but it's long overdue that I made my videos more accurate and accessible. I will be working in the near future to make accurate captions for my older videos as well! Thanks!
You will see all sorts of weird things in apartments when you are dealing with the fire alarm world. The apartment that I live in has a Notifier addressable fire alarm system that goes off if there is a fire in the general building. That is the general fire alarm. However, my apartment unit has a Honeywell Vista 20p alarm system with a 6160 keypad that has System Sensor i3 smokes and 747 siren for the local alarm. The 747 siren is right benext to a Wheelock NS horn/strobe. The 747 siren is the local alarm and only sounds for fires in the apartment. The Wheelock NS horn/strobe sounds if the fire is in the building. If you are sure that it was a false alarm, you reset the vista 20p system and not worry about it. If the alarm was real, then you go into the hallway and pull the pull station which is a BG12LX. I have never seen anything like that before but whatever I guess... Whatever floats their boat. Have you ever seen a residential burglary and fire system be used as the local alarm in the apartment and the Notifier system as the building alarm? What happened to your other house where you did your tests?
I have a theory it may be wrong but yet a good one you know how if somebody is doing their hair they may be using a flat iron or a curling iron could be left on by accident especially if an older one. One time when I was staying with somebody I think on a trip that someone else's house somebody had left a curling iron on and had a washcloth possibly damp the curling iron had accidentally been left on the wash rag and smelled smoke went to the bathroom was hazy with smoke and turns out that's what it was was curling iron left on and it was contacting the rag the starting to char/burn to rag glad I noticed before we left for a while that's one thing that could potentially happen in a bathroom perhaps why there would be smoke detectors as you know some people also have candles in bathrooms as well but I don't think there would be a requirement just because of this but there is a potential for farmers in a bathroom but not as likely as other places but it's one of those things that possibly Hair Care appliances Plus you know there's hairspray possibly in the vicinity which if that stuff builds up enough yeah there's all kinds of things that could happen you know places have to cover their butts in one way or another either or somebody could be smoking it in the bathroom lay down a cigarette on or throw it in the garbage can which often There's a garbage can in the bathroom which could be an issue many reasons this could be
04:34 The smoke detector in the bathroom might be a fail because the steam from the hot shower can set it off as they must be photoelectric smoke detectors and not ionization detectors as ionization detectors respond to fast flaming fires
I think all hotel rooms/ apartments should be required to have smoke detectors that are connected to the main system. If a fire started, it could be too late before the building’s system went off
There are smokes in the bathroom so a hearing impaired person could be alerted if they were in the bathroom. They could have just used the Gentex GXS-120177WW, which is meant to be interconnected with other Gentex alarms.
Yeah, because you shouldn't have a smoke detector in the bathroom if that's the case and you should get a fan for your bathroom. Because my smoking detector sounded once while I was showering so I installed a fan in there to prevent those false alarms.
My landlord had maintenance people install new smoke dector.and i think they putting light flashing alarm thing in to ever in my apartment getting one put into there inside of apartments and outside there apartment door .
True lots of false alarms would go off while showering if the alarm is sensitive to steam. Also if it’d low on battery you would hear there cherp every time you shower. Also not ideal to have a smoke alarm in a bedroom because of low battery cherp but it’s the law in many stats and Provence’s now.
The fire alarms in the bathroom.. One time I was at a hotel back in 2014 when I was 10 or so and there was an ACTUAL spectra-alert advance (horn / strobe) in the bathroom of my hotel room and I was terrified! Also I did NOT use that bathroom once while I was there. Had to use public restrooms instead at the hotel. 🥲
You should never put a smoke alarm in the bathroom it could give you hearing loss its a stupid thing that its in there the atrobes are of course required
Imagine the truealerts going off in the middle of the night. Really scary sounding, considering how loud these alarms are. I've heard Truealerts in person years ago, and they were very loud.
what kind of fire alarm is this?
Yes a mini horn would be ideal
yo. i have a question, thoes smoke dectors that say fire, do thoes go off and flash when the fire alarm goes off? what is it used for?
@@jonathanstarling1082 I’m thinking no but, one goes off it will set the rest of them off in the unit.
The Wheelock NS alarms are even louder
My high school had a very interesting setup. Mostly Simplex true alerts and bells and that one Wheelock Exeder.

Nice! and million subscriber channels won't bother even hiring someone to do that
Why did you choose and ADA room and not a Non-ADA room?
@@AndrewIsAwesome882 cause ig that's just what he just so happen to select without knowing
Yes, ADA Rooms have to have Smoke detectors with strobes in every room in the ADA apartments including bathrooms regardless

Can not believe no one came up with that joke yet, good one!🤣

Even through low frequency Sounders with strobes in the sleeping areas would be better.
I think all hotel rooms/ apartments should be required to have smoke detectors that are connected to the main system. If a fire started, it could be too late before the building’s system went off
there's sprinklers which will activate not long after the local smoke if there's a fire, which will sound the buildings fire system
@@alexandersalarms5380 true, but smoke detectors are faster and allow more time to escape
Nice video!
Sounds like you have NFPA down pat.
If the apartment is “assigned”, is it run by a university?
Whelove,great masterpiece.see ya!,🤘
Cool you were able to get an apt with alarms in it! Are the truealerts addersable or smartsync? Probably smartsync but I might be wrong.
Thanks! Yes they're SmartSync... 4906-9127s I believe

Actually I believe these are 4903-9419 Horn Strobes and 4904-9332 Remote Strobes because they are fixed candela.

When are you going to start the fire alarm fails series again? And nice video
