Hey bud, Thank you for taking my suggestion from your previous video to make this video. The fascia I used on my deck is exactly like the one you have except it's PVC. Again thank you!
We built out semi custom home in 2005 and it has that cedar 5 1/2 grained wood trim between the window and J channel and around the edges of the front house as an accet I assume however on a vinyl sided home with vinyl windows, I absolutely cannot stand it. Between splitting allowing water infiltration, recaulking and repainting, it is the polar opposite of the rest of the homes maintenance free products. I now want to remove it all and bring added siding to bring the J channels to the windows or not as good would be to replace with a PVC trim but that will still need caulking.
Good tips but i just used masterseal on an awning and put a shit ton of it and it definitely shrinked. Im in winter new york so maybe the 20 degree weather did it. I had about half of what i originally put on after a week.
Nice work! I use the same methods, but either Quad or Polyurethane caulking, they don't shrink and are paintable. Sorry to bring this up, but that house does not have the 8" clearance (8" in Canada, 6" in the US) from siding to grade, thereby allowing bug and moisture infiltration.
Question: Do you suggest applying primer as the last step? At the end of the video, it looks like you painted some primer over the nail after sanding the wood filler.
Anyone in Canada / B.C. know of an alternative to this that works just as well....and can be purchased by an average homeowner locally? This product is difficult to source here. Thanks in advance.
Thank you youtube dad
Wooow . Easy there. He's my TH-cam dad, not yours
The entire valley was filled with my laughter!
0:04 😂
Compared to the place I’m renting, that is PERFECT!
I wish my landlord cared.
The info is great, and the outtakes are legend 😂
Thanks Buddy😂
Can you show how to repair a section of rotten wood on exterior trim? Window or door frame, etc. Thanks, I enjoy your videos!
If I come across a situation like that I will.
Great information!
Good and true tips, thank you.
just subscribed, i need to do this all around the exterior of the house, your tutorial is one of the best i"ve seen, thanks
Great result. Thank you.

Beautiful
Perfect, if such corners are our only problems 😊
You do great work 👍🏼👊🏼🦖🍺
Does the caulk at the edge also shrink than?
What exterior wood filler are you using?
It’s a product you can only get in Canada, as far as I know called dynapatch. It’s great.
Happy Canada Day! Any special plans for the weekend?

Great video. What's the difference between NP1 and NP150?
about 149
I’m not sure on that one.

Love the outtakes...can you do one on how to fix those cracklin knees that come from fixing joints next to the ground!!????

Can the NP-1 be painted?
What about dynaflex 230 for these situations?
👍👍👍Thank you
Is this for aesthetics or water proofing? I need to waterproof my house. There is water leaking in.
NP1 is a good product for waterproofing in my opinion.
Ive used both products but Solar Seal seems to be superior in my opinion.
I will check it out, thanks for the rec.
Rather expensive here in Canada for NP1 best price is $30.99 that is a NO.
Check you local building supply, should be around 12$
@@TheFunnyCarpenter Trying, so far no luck. Thanks for the tips.

That’s where I’m from. You can find NP1 at most contractor building supply places.
@@TheFunnyCarpenter Thank you! I will look around for one.

Hey We need more jokes in the video, I had to wait until the end (bummer).😅
Fair point
Wait. Are you really a carpenter or a glazer? This is like the 5th or 6th caulking video.
😂carpenter, handyman, guy who does stuff:)
Oh well, everyone has their thing.
At some point it always comes down to caulking, or as they say, Junk in the trunk. Kind of like death and taxes.
Promo`SM 🤘
Lol always grear videos!
