For those saying that Kong wasn't there in 1984, he actually was. My first USH visit was the summer before my Senior year (1984) and I loved the Kong scene. If you watch ALL three parts to this video (the links are usually at the end of this part), it gives the copyright as 1984 in the final credits. Perhaps they were doing a soft opening or testing then, and maybe the official opening wasn't until 1986. Also, Bob Gurr did an interview in later years that mentioned 1986, then everyone accepted that as gospel. So, USH's official promo video says it was there in 1984, but if you heard the official opening mentioned as 1986 elsewhere, you're not wrong either. And like most here, I miss the Kong scene as well! RIP Kong. Part 2: th-cam.com/video/_IElqlGl4jE/w-d-xo.html and Part 3: th-cam.com/video/OCpH6k8Jb34/w-d-xo.html
I was a kid of the 80s. I definitely remember this tram tour. King Kong was not until 86. The original Kong was awesome.
I definitely miss the old good old days
The music in the intro is just, perfect👌
Man! If they still had King Kong and a bunch of old attractions that would be my favorite place
I was there in 83!
I still have the VHS of me doing that pie skit ..
Geez. The size of King Kong. What an almighty roar he gives!
This is so great lol

This isn't from 1984. Kong opened in 1986. I was there on its opening day
Do you remember how much it was when you went in 1986?
@1:07 looks like they didn't organize the tram tour safe , little girl almost got ran over by the tram driver ....
Fun fact: Edith Head was the inspiration for Edna Mode from The Incredibles.
