Im 200 hours in and you are off by a few hundred yards. . If you are new you should push further south the the area by the lake. It has Reeds, Garlic and many other things near you. Also you have an open field to the left. For building out T3.. but you do you.
Did you also settle by the bridge in the south? I settled on the left side so i am right between copper and tin, with mud right in my base, but the bandits walk right through my camp so i can just autofarm them for renown at this point, it was a small struggle at the start because the bandits sometimes outnumbered me and my men with higher tier gear, now they still have higher tier gear (mostly because i am just focusing tech and find the clubs more than adequate in combinations with the shield), but i have three to one advantage so its all free renown all the time and i have plenty of space to grow. I barely got to padstow (i think that was the name) but i have a village of like 15 people now.
@@sulfasan4299 it's used in most stews, and since stews are really easy to make, consequently they are usually the way to go if you want an army with twice the health of most food sources and workers with 20% extra productivity if you get fish too. It's just really good for the investment, but the requirement is garlic
I built left of the first pond right behind the Merchant that sells fish and there’s a fisherman right on the pond and my base is covered in mud and there’s tin ore off to the side unfortunately my second settlement is Near the Copper ore by one of the first missions to kill 3 wolves

That sounds like a second viable spot! I may attempt to setup shop there in my next playthrough just to try new things out!
