    This was very helpful because I had been trying to depress the pin to release the cylinder but didn’t know the key trick part! Thanks for sharing

    Thanks. Very useful info. In reassembling parts in my 1965 Dart after a repaint, I found that the new lock set I bought only works for 1966-1969 (?) cars. The ignition and trunk locks are the same, but door locks have a much smaller keyed-hole. I located the original set of locks and keys, but the guts of the driver's door lock are missing. Removed that part about 10 years ago, so don't recall why (maybe that way when bought since much trim was off). Now trying to figure out if I can fit that lock housing with guts from a later lock.

    Hello Bob, question: where do you find new ignition switches for the chrysler c bodies? all the ones i find are 6 terminal switches, vs the one on all stock chrysler c bodies are 5 terminal, Do you send out the switches you have for a rebuild? or the 6th terminal on the new switches can be used with no problem on the stock harness? Thanks.

      I find switches new or NOS on Ebay. They are common.

    I need to know which wires go to each terminal (Bat,ACC,ST,IGN 1,IGN 2) on the ignition switch you are holding at .50 seconds in the Vid. Thanks

    My release pin just felt out of the cylinder after I dropped by accident, now it doesn't want to go in properly, and is not spring loaded, is it broken ?

    Hi Bob, what is the correct key set style for an F? I’m thinking maybe the aluminum Forward Look style?

      We have a page with the key styles. See www.chrysler300club.com/tech/keys/1.html

    Just picked up a 55 IMP. No keys. Question, Do these cars go on one key ? I.e. Doors , ign, and trunk? Or is it two key, one for the doors and ign, and another just for the trunk?

    • @300rcm1
      @300rcm1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Two keys.

    Thanks for sharing, my 64' Dodge custom 880 has been having these random shutoffs/cutouts. And have determined that the IGN switch needs servicing/replacement.

    With ignition switches without the key, I have used a Dremel tool to grind down the pin for removal of the cylinder lock, and replacing it with a new one. Eazy-peasy!
