Thank you for sharing. Very honest, helpful, direct and informative. I agree with you on where to buy from, knowledgeable people in the sport are priceless.
@rollincoal3963 glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Awesome vid, very helpful to a right handed left eye dominate fella who was about to buy a right handed bow, you saved me $600 mate
Thanks. Glad it was helpful.
Same here dude lol
Absolutely and can confirm, shooting a bow left handed is very easy to learn as a right-handed person. Much easier IMO than learning to shoot a rifle left handed.
Same here as well lol
@@clintsimpson4690shoo fly, we are bowhunters.
Great vid. There's a bunch of vids that didn't explain anything. Really appreciate it.
@tgsharp1158 thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. Let me know if any questions come up from that.
Great video🙏🏻, thanks brother! Just started to get into the lay of land on archery, this handles over 70% of my homework and overall idea on my specificities. Thank You! 🔥🔥🔥
Glad you enjoyed it. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Super helpful, awesome video man! Love seeing those illuminated nocks fly
@HA51971 thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it!
Outstanding video. I am an adult beginner (first experience with archery was one day ago), and this video clearly explained and demonstrated important considerations when shopping for my first bow. Much more confident now to walk in an archery shop. Thanks for making this video.
Thanks for the comment. I'm glad it was helpful and you enjoyed it. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
@@cariboumediaoutdoorsthank you sir!
Which bow did you end up getting? 😇
Getting my first one in 2 weeks.
Elite Terrain. I really have enjoyed it. Added a 5 pin sight, drop away rest, and a Nock 2 It thumb release.
Holy shit nice intro music!🤘None of the outdoorsman videos I watch have metal. Great video overall as well very informative.
@josephdeffendall7077 thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it!
Great information, I'm about to try get my son to join me in learning this art👍
That would be awesome and a great way to connect with your kids! Good luck. Glad you liked the video.
Thankyou, there's quite a bit to learn, he's been keen for a few years but I finally found a club who take as young as 8 o happy days.
@@SimonM5 that's fantastic! 🏹 🎯
Great info mate!Thanks a lot.
Glad it was helpful!
Great info brother! Thank you. I am looking for a package compound bow which will be my 1st, this video gave me a lot of info to consider. I shoot crossbows but want to explore compound bow before I get too old to be able to pull those strings 😄
That's great. I'm glad it was helpful!
good introductio for me starting, thanks
Glad it was helpful. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask.
Amazing vid! Thanks!

@josetovar7380 thanks for watching. Hopefully it helped.
This was a great video thank-you found it very helpful 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the info - looking to get into the sport as a hobby to start .. rekindling some childhood interest - feel free to send a bow over 😅
Good luck. Let me know how you make out! 🏹 🎯
I'm glad I watched this video, I now know what to look for and I get the big box store, I got my crossbow from big box and had to a lot of my homework online on how to load it and set it up for me, I have been dealing with a bow shop local to me and I will be picking up my bow after the new year. thanks for all the information. What would recommend for a quick release, any 1 that preforms better than others?
I like the thunb button releases, but it's always good to start with a wrist release. Depends on how much you're looking to spend. Tru Fire and Scott are great.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Any recommendations for right eye dominate and left handed person?
You may find yourself being more comfortable shooting right. The best thing would be to go into a bow shop and try shooting both sides to see what feels more comfortable.
Thank you
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the video 👍🏼
You are most welcome.
Is there anything I need to think about before I choose my bow When I do the triangle test My eyes go to the same distance each side So I don't know if I need left or right i'm a right handed person 😮
That has always worked for me, so I'm sure if there are other tests you can do. Take a look at this www.allaboutvision.com/resources/dominant-eye-test.htm
Great video! Thank you bro you are the man
Glad you liked it. Let me know if you have any questions that I didn't cover in the video.
Nice to see prices in Canadian dollars. 🇨🇦
I always try to do that. Makes it easier for us Canadians! Thanks for watching.

When you say "big box stores" I'm assuming you mean Cabela's and Bass Pro? Trying to buy my first compound bow and they have great sales right now at Cabela's but I've heard this comment numerous times and everyone leans towards an archery shop. I understand why, just wondering if i can purchase a bow from a big box store, then take it to an archery shop if i feel i need to get it fine tuned? Cabela's has a lot of Bear RTH products on a great price right now, just don't want to shoot myself in the foot with my first compound purchase
@DimagoDiesel you can definitely buy from anywhere, you just may find more experience when it comes to setting everything up from an archery pro shop.
@@cariboumediaoutdoors Understandable - i guess my assumption would be that a "RTH" is ready to hunt... so obviously nothing is "as advertised" and im going to need to fine tune some things, but for a bow that has RTH package from the factory, does it need the touch of an archery shop.
@DimagoDiesel you'll just need to get it set yo your draw length and draw weight, make sure the peep sight is level with your eye. Get you set up with arrows, paper tune the bow to make sure your arrow is coming off the bow perfectly straight. Things like that.
@ gotcha okay thanks for the input - much appreciated
If you buy a descent package bow you can upgrade the accessories over time
Absolutely you can. An upgraded sight and stabilizer will make a huge difference. If you are looking to upgrade a sight, look for one that has micro adjustments. It'll be easier to sight in and save you time in the long run. Good luck! 👍
Sick intro music!! 🤘
Who plays it?
Thank you for the bow advice, really helpful.
It's music off of a site called Epidemic Sound.
Can you hunt with the kids bow?
Absolutely. Check the Hunting regulations in your area. As long as you're shooting a certain draw weight and arrow size, you'll be fine.
Great video, helped me a lot! I was wondering if the Diamond Infinite Edge Pro is still a good choice as it seems to be discontinued. Looks like Diamond Edge 320 is the new one. And I'm also considering the Mission Switch. Is it a good alternative to the Diamond? Thanks and Best Regards!
You really can't go wrong with any bow these days as long as it feels good for you. Diamond and Mission are both great companies. Glad you enjoyed the video!
I just want someone to tell me exactly what to but. I want to hunt and shoot target. Im 6'1" and not weak. have shot a lot when young but have no idea about todays bows. Someone please just tell me what I need to get started again. What is the best package to start with?
The best package is the one that feels right for you. No one can tell you that. Depends on our budget and how the bow feels in your hands. Head over to a pro shop and start shooting some.
@@cariboumediaoutdoors I’m taking up curling then. You guys make it way too hard.
@@cariboumediaoutdoors ok what about answer this. What is the most common and respected bow package? And what arrows do I need for it.
Let’s compare to fishing reels, I don’t want a Daiwa tierra. I want a Sol. Solid, middle range, No frills however nothing really bad. Get me?
@@badlordboris6238 boohoo you just want someone to do the work for you instead of going out and trying out different bows and seeing how they feel. No one can pick the perfect bow for you except yourself.
Can the 400$ bows be used in competitions?
I don't see why not. Check the rules of the competition you're going to enter, but I've never heard of them saying what price category of bow you have to shoot. It's more by categories like Bowhunter class, Pro, Semi Pro, related to skill level.
Amazing video lots of useful beginner info. I just can’t afford any of those super expensive bows. If I found a youth bow that would fit me as an adult would that be okay for starting out in archery or no?
Absolutely. You don't need a flagship bow to get into archery. Any bow that fits you will do! 🏹 🎯
@@cariboumediaoutdoors awesome thanks so much. I’m just poor right now, inflation and everything going on and trying to prepare my family as much as I can but I figure it stuff hits the fan a bow will be good cause ammo will only last so long.. figure I would start getting some skills and information now. Thank you very much
@@cariboumediaoutdoors I gave a subscribe. Look forward to anymore videos
@OG Frank Castle awesome thanks. Let me know if you have any more questions.
im both.. left and righty... but i shoot guns .. lefty and im left eyed ... im interested in the exact bow you showed - purple- pink string.. Diamond prism... 2- reasons... im 5.7inch... 27 3/4 to 28 draw.. i heard if didnt fit the draw.. i could cheet it longer a bit with D loop.. ? i also hear: youth bows made well like diamond.. is just as professional... as any mid range bow... just made for smaller.. or older person like me.. 50lbs my max pull!!! consistant pull i like 35 lbs.. if shtf ... humain purposes.. i set it too 45 lbs and correct arrow for deer! 100 videos later and if i was right handed : $199 dragon x8 pro. is beasty! all accessories is junk.. replace as can .. bare bow is awesome!!!!!!!! Dont sale lefty:>( ...found a used diamond prism. $100 .. i scared it may be damaged,, idk. Gurl got it. and she all way out bolts and too hard for her.. she not going shoot it! keep fingers crossed.. ooh pray 4 me- brother went spear fish and thought i was nice fat 1.. i will shoot fish from land now!
I'm right handed, but left eye dominant, so I shoot left as well. Nothing wrong with shooting youth or beginner bows. Shoot whatever you are comfortable with.
th-cam.com/video/GAEu-UF5S7c/w-d-xo.html
The item moves out of the centre of my triangle on both eyes.
I feel like I can't find any left handed compound bows anywhere in my country😢
They usually have to be ordered from the company, as most stores won't carry too many left handed bows since 90% of shooters are right handed.
Who else put their phone down even knowing your dominant eye and put their hands in a triangle lol
You just can't help it! It really works.
You shouldn’t draw your bow back without an arrow on it ( pointed in a safe direction)
You're absolutely right. It's never a good idea.
nonsensical, close your right eye twice?
If you're trying to find your dominant eye, hold your hands out in front of you in a Triangle on an object. Close one eye and open it and close the other. Whichever eye keeps the object in the middle is your dominant eye.
I’m wondering why measuring the arms span when you can easily divide your height with 2,5 and your done.
Arm’s span almost always equals height, try it out…get to a wall and touch floor with fingers of one hand then expand your other hand along the wall straight up as high possible while still touching the floor with the other hand, maybe someone can watch your shoulders to be in line with your arms, mark your upper fingers and stand up to the mark, you’ll se that you’ll fit right in.
I figured out why this doesn’t apply for USA.
It’s because of the metrics system.
Your reading for heights is expressed in feet’s and inches due to imperial measurements system.
Now I’m from Slovenia Europe and we use only centimeters for the height measuring.
You have to convert your height into inches only then divide by 2,5.
@@nebulaM16 I've never heard of doing it that way, but it works!
