First off WOW!!! I found this channel last night and it is about to send AMAZING WORK!!! I have set up most of my sega model 3 which was a complete pain in the arse as you say ! but I haven’t changed any of the languages and some of the controls on some of the games . I have been reading the comments and looking at the controls on the images for launch box that you provide Is there a way to make Star Wars not inverted, so up is up down is down et cetera Also, the ones that use a keyboard and mouse can they be used with a xbox one controller lone the rest and with the light gun games are they ready configured for sinden light guns and because it’s in 4K resolution, do I simply just go to the gun calibration per game and adjust as needed? The question I have is, I’ve got my games running at 4K on my TV which took a lot of fiddling around to get it working. if I swap my files for your ones will it mess up the 4k widescreen? And if so, which files are the ones that change the language settings controls and the test menus as there most important. Once again, thank you so much for this I will add comments in the other videos with questions about that certain platform Thanks Danny
Star Wars should be UP is Up etc already if using the pre config. You can change the inversion in the .ini file or by changing the cabinet type to Upright. The resolution for the pre config is 1920x1080 but you can change this in the UI to 4K. its the NVRAM files that have all the game test menu settings. My recommendation would be to setup my preconfiguration and adjust it from there. Star Wars will be correctly inverted and everything setup just right. Do this separately and keep your current build just in case. You can change the light gun games to be used with a controller in the .ini file, and change the resolution to 4K. I can provide some stuff that you can copy and paste to do this if needed.
It's a great emulator and UI and I really like the Model 3 games, but there are so many steps and so many wrong places and files to get to that it's super frustrating to get the thing working. How do you even enter the test menu on the games to change the country settings? I have an older emulator for model 3 but F1, F2 or F3 don't get into the test menu. Thanks
A godsend, finally found a way to try out Daytona USA 2 and Scud Race again. Do you know how to change the amount of laps for each course in these games? 8 laps might be too much for the Advanced and Expert courses for my people lol
Thanks man! Yeah just go into the games test menu and change number of laps per course. It'll be listed as Novice, Advanced and Expert, change each one to what you want it to be.
@Warped Polygon wow I'm blind it's in my face lol, do I use xinput (xbox series s) buttons or keyboard to navigate the menu? I can't seem to use the menu before the game boots like a chump lol
Fantastic. As far as I know, I have had everything for Star Wars Trilogy Arcade working well the past year... EXCEPT, needing the controls up/down reversed for both the Boba Fett and Darth Vader lightsaber battles. I'm using a yoke controller. Everything else is great! I can't access the original SM3 test screen (maybe I don't know the proper way in?) Perhaps you know? Much appreciated.
When I try to use the Configs on Steam Deck / Arch Linux, I get "Error: uknown input system: dinput". Is there something missing I need to install? I did add the xinput package from Arch linux. Guessing it's because I am using the compiled binary on Linux, not an exe. Update1: I got basic things working with using "sdl" for input method, but need to figure out the controls. I can't seem to hide the crosshair though. When I move left joystick on my PS4 controller, I see and can use the crosshair there, but the one in the center stays. Maybe that is P2?
Hi. I use your settings and pretty much every game runs great . but when i run ski champ. I am stuck in the 1st person view and cant seem to change views. I have tried differnt setting in the ski champ ini confog file and also had a look inside the test menu on ski champ but there is no option to place the camera behind the skier. i have ski champ set on free play. the start button and the red B button on my xbox one controller both do the same action ( button 3) within the test menu. Any Ideas on how to get the change view button action working properly.? Much appreciated.
You need to hold X (Far View) or A (Mid View) or B (1st Person) at the same time as starting/coining up the game. It will auto start when credits are added so hold your desired view button and press Select. Don't use the start button to start this game. Supermodel emulates this to be the B button causing 1st person mode to be used. The only instructions on how to view change were printed on the actual arcade machine. There's no in game prompt or anything. So this is pretty much unknown to most.

more than likely the mouse index is in the incorrect place. if you arent using 2 players you can delete the rawinpt type for the light gun games. in the ini file at the top you'll have per game settings. Depends on the arcade setup you have. The NVRAM files may be of use but the control configuration is setup and tested with a controller and mouse. The racing games are setup for analogue input and if you are just using a joystick it wont work. Everything here is useful to you apart from controls for arcade setups.

Are you still having this problem?
Hi fantastic video and it's got me wanting to play lost world again. Does anyone know if it works with the sinden light gun or dolphin bar or even both at the same time. 2 player would be brilliant. Thanks
Yes this is using rawinput for both players. be sure to correctly assign the mouse index
@@warpedpolygon thanks for coming back to me. Just found your channel. Very helpful and appreciated. I've already subbed and look forward to more videos from you. Thanks again
Would you be able suggest an hardware (cpu graphics card) setup to buy? I remember the old days emulators would run too fast on newer hardware or other glitches. My kids have gotten into arcade games from the random old machines still existing at tourist spots
that depends on budget, requirements etc. I'm running a 10 year old potato myself. amd 8350 and 1gb 960
First off WOW!!!
I found this channel last night and it is about to send AMAZING WORK!!!
I have set up most of my sega model 3 which was a complete pain in the arse as you say !
but I haven’t changed any of the languages and some of the controls on some of the games .
I have been reading the comments and looking at the controls on the images for launch box that you provide Is there a way to make Star Wars not inverted, so up is up down is down et cetera
Also, the ones that use a keyboard and mouse can they be used with a xbox one controller lone the rest and with the light gun games are they ready configured for sinden light guns and because it’s in 4K resolution, do I simply just go to the gun calibration per game and adjust as needed?
The question I have is, I’ve got my games running at 4K on my TV which took a lot of fiddling around to get it working.
if I swap my files for your ones will it mess up the 4k widescreen?
And if so, which files are the ones that change the language settings controls and the test menus as there most important.
Once again, thank you so much for this I will add comments in the other videos with questions about that certain platform
Thanks Danny
@@warpedpolygon thank you that’s great but I will do is save my files just in case and then try and see what happens. Thank you
It's a great emulator and UI and I really like the Model 3 games, but there are so many steps and so many wrong places and files to get to that it's super frustrating to get the thing working. How do you even enter the test menu on the games to change the country settings? I have an older emulator for model 3 but F1, F2 or F3 don't get into the test menu. Thanks
Use this, its all been done for you.

Nice one man! how can I disable screen flash in the light gun games?
Which games are you getting flashing on as none of them flash anyway?
The lost world is interesting to play in 16:9 display .... Wlil try later!
It plays well
Has anyone found the Sega Model 3 UI files? I can't seem to find any of the links that still work.
The UI seemingly have gone from existence. I'll be putting together a LaunchBox build so no need for UI
@@warpedpolygon when and where can we get ui files from?
Much appreciated.
cheers mate, 5 is test and 6 is service
I hope you could answer this: when ever i press load rom, it tells me that it can't open the zip
It's not unzipping the file for some reason. Do all ya other files unzip ok?
no
One question, how do you access the game menu (set game difficulty, number of rounds, round time, etc.?)
Test is 5 and Service is 6 on your keyboard. Watch out tho as some games clear their test menu data when certain settings are changed.
@@warpedpolygon Thanks!
Impossible to register in the forum to get your file. What a pity ! Super work by the way bravo !
Did you manage to get an account?
@@warpedpolygon no they have never sent to me the confirmation 😕
@@warpedpolygon Excellent. worked like a charm. All games work great now with your settings. 10/10 😎

L.A. Machines Still Giving Me Trouble With The Aiming Cursor Any steps I may Have Missed With That
more than likely the mouse index is in the incorrect place. if you arent using 2 players you can delete the rawinpt type for the light gun games. in the ini file at the top you'll have per game settings. Delete the rawinput line from all the light gun games and you'll have no issue with windows mouse indexing. I'm thinking I need to provide separate 1 player ini file for those not using 2 players or actual lightguns. hope this helped

May I ask about 2 PLAYER MOUSE SUPPORT? When plugging in 2 mice they control the same curser in windows but only one works in the emu... Should I be using something like Mousemux to get 2 cursers? How do I register them as mouse 1 and 2?
Just using 2 mice straight up with no extra software should work. Is this with all 3 of the light gun games or just Jurassic Park?
@@warpedpolygon ah ok cheers. In testing I can't get the second mouse to work sadly, I wonder if it's because one is wired and one is bluetooth. Or I've not assigned them properly
@@manaboutsound so mix and matching probably is the issue here. 2 wired mice will defo work as long as they are the first 2 mouse devices plugged in, from having none plugged in (including any bluetooth devices). you'd need to treat the bluetooth mice the same. there is a way to find out what the second mouse is registering as but needs a long description and a little effort on your end. lemme know if you can be arsed lol

Thank you for making this. I think I followed everything correctly and I can get games to run but they run very fast. Is there a way around that? Also, can this be run through Launchbox or am I going to run into issues?
You are not the first person with this issue. Do you have vsync on and or throttle? The other guy this happened to said setting power pc frequency to 200 helped. However, I managed to recreate this issue when I set my NVIDIA graphics setting to lowish but when I reverted back to performance it worked fine. Check ya vsync is on and if so then check ya performance settings with your graphics card and set to the highest setting if not already.
@@warpedpolygon thank you for the quick reply. Vsync was on. I didn't notice a difference with the throttle setting but shifting the Power setting from 69 to 200 did the trick!
I also was able to point Launchbox to the UI file by using all file types in the search. It was originally only showing Supermodel so it wouldn't work. I have to rechoose the game in the UI but no biggie.
Next experiment, changing the racing games to my Fanatec wheel and pedals. Hopefully changing inputs in the UI only affects the selected game.

Is your 'scale and layout' in Windows settings above 100%?
Hi thanks a lot for this,I downloaded it and it works great, finally I can play scud racer without over twitchy controls,it drives perfect with my xbox controller.
By the way the Romset I put in the roms directory, there is about 4 different versions of scud racer and only one version seems to work I think it's the scud plus version, does that mean my Romset is the problem or doesn't the emulator support the other 3 versions of scud racer, there is an Australian version a plus-a version and one other but only the scud-plus works
scud and scudplus both work on my end and I only use those as the others have no exclusive content. what issue are you having with scud?
Hi scudplus rom works and loads great but the scud rom, scudplusa rom, scuddx and scudau roms they try to load it comes up saying drive board initialising and then goes to say cancelled network board not present
What would be causing that do you think.

I can't get the Sega Model 3 UI. Most of the links don't work and the two that do look really dodgy and are asking me to install browser extensions. Are there any alternative places to download it?
Supermodel Forums is the best alternative :)
Would this work too for the NVRAM file on Star Wars Trilogy? "clear the nvram so you have 0 credits and then set the nvram as read only. It wont track high scores but prevents the black screen if you accidentally leave credits in." Thank you!
If you agree, how do I do this please? Thank you again!
Just use Free Play. That generally fixes the issue. All these games have been set to free play with this configuration.
@@warpedpolygon thank you happy new year! What should I configure for the start button in order to get beyond the first screen? When I said it to free play, it won’t let me get beyond the intro screen unless I use my keyboard. I really just want to use a pre-configured button from the machine. Thanks again.
If I wanted to use the Model 3 emulator (and even the Model 2) in my arcade cab, does this pre-config complicate things for me? Should I be looking for something else?
Depends on the arcade setup you have. The NVRAM files may be of use but the control configuration is setup and tested with a controller and mouse. The racing games are setup for analogue input and if you are just using a joystick it wont work.
Everything here is useful to you apart from controls for arcade setups.
Will the NVRAM file fix the issue that I am having with Battle of Yavin not fully playing after it loads? It just goes to black with sound in the background after it gets past the x-wing fighter profile. Thank you so much!
Yes, it will help.
That issue is a known bug. If you have unused credits from a previous play session on your current play session this can happen. Setting to free play stops this from happening. Also if you smash buttons while it's loading up it can do the same thing
@@warpedpolygon Sir, my problem is that I put Supermodel and Sega Model 3 on a new computer and I am trying to connect it to an old Star Wars Trilogy machine that had the original arcade machine in it.
