Starlink Internet in a VW Campervan!

Today we're looking at the Starlink system in a VW Campervan and, to be perfectly honest, this is a game changer.
We recently went to CamperJam with a load of our staff to show off the VW Commercial range (join us next year!), but the big difference this time is that we rented a Starlink satellite Internet system.
In previous years, we've struggled to stay connected to the Internet at the show (as some of you have probably found while camping in off-the-beaten-track campsites or even when off-grid camping), but with the Starlink system, that was extremely different for us this year.
This isn't an advertisement, we actually paid to use this system as it helped us out so much at the event, but I would definitely recommend it for those of you who are looking for an off-grid Internet solution while camping.

We did a fair bit of research with Starlink, and if money is no object, its a good contender; but by no means the best/only option. If folks are considering Starlink, they should absolutely consider 5G too.
The power consumption of a 5G router is far less, and far more cost effective. We pay the equivalent of £3p/m for 500gb p/m, and yet to be out of data range. Additionally, our speed is usually around the 180-200mbps, versus Starlink that sits closer to 80mbps and requiring an unobstructed view of the sky for it to send and recieve packets.
That said, if you're abroad or in some incredibly remote area, then Starlink makes sense. But you'll also need an appropriate (regenerative) powersource for it for any long-term use (solar panels etc) .

@camperfam would you have details of your 5G router and which internet provider you use, please? TIA. Sounds like the better option to the expensive Starlink system

Hi can any one help our Californian grand battery is problematic we have to turn the car over every 4 to 6 days so when we park it up it’s goes flat has been a problem from the start asked VW but they don’t seem to know what the problem is can anyone help us
