TH-cam said comments would go away "starting January" which evidently didn't mean Jan. 1, the date the FTC vs. TH-cam COPPA settlement agreement took effect (it did take effect). Thus far they've given no indication any plans have changed, so we're still commenting on borrowed time. I'm posting this repeatedly only because it's one of the top things viewers are asking about.

I originally preferred the black and orange. Now I prefer the white and orange and I don't know why.

Roy Sanderson I can’t blame them. If people keep buying these sets at full price then of course they are going to keep upping the original retail price. This here costs £90 which I think is too much considering the last one was £80 and even then I was waiting for a discount on it which I did eventually get.

The gap between the foils is inevitable with the 5 module technic beam or any simple technic-based hinging. The lego plate height right-side-up and upside-down math doesn't add up to exactly 5 technique module widths.

Arcturion Blade either a rebel or resistance b wing will do since we have not had one in a while. Whilst we have had all the other main 3 lettered ships for both factions. And three x wings for the resistance. The b wing is something that is lacking in my collection. I only have the rebel a wing, y wing and x wing.
yes! i saw those B wings in the ep9 trailers and thought "i hope they finally give us a B wing so i can complete my rebel fleet"

I just put in my order for this yesterday! Can’t wait to build it. My last X-Wing (not counting the Arc 170) was the Dagobah version from 2003. Held off on the last few, but the intakes forming a true circle are just too good!
Man that T-65 is so good I got really happy seeing it on screen even though I've owned it for like a year and have it right next to me. Absolute classic.
2:54 Now that's a great cockpit, three printed tiles and a control stick! The really nice tile at the front is currently exclusive to this set.
I love the shaping of the orange bits, too! Against the white background, it almost looks like a completely different ship.

I love these X-Wings, and it's so cool Poe gets a hairpiece (WHY did Lego not do that when I was a kid?), but alas,my heart will ever belong to the Xmas X-Wing-- but I can't afford the..umm. I like how they put the spring loaded shooter on the bottom wings rather than on top as to not expose them and make the model look ugly

For TROS mine is the Sith Trooper Battle Pack. TLJ was the Praetorian Guard Battle Pack. I wanted the Battle on Takodana for TFA, but it was way too expensive and I couldn't get it, so I'm yet to buy a TFA set

As a huge fan of the "T-70" X-Wing variant, I really appreciate that they found a way to make the intake/turbine things actually form a circle when the S-Foils are together, as the previous T-70s intake things formed more of an oblong, which threw off the design in my opinion, but yeah, that £90 price tag is steep!

Hello Jang, while the comments still work, I just want to say thank you for all these thorough and awesome reviews. Only got back into Lego since 2018, but your reviews are very helpful, enjoyable and even if know from the start I won't get a set, I still really enjoy and appreciate your reviews.
For example, this set. I don't care about the Sequels (I prefer the old EU) and have the regular X-wing set from last year, but just watching your review I get interested. Colourwise I may prefer the black/orange version -- it's just an awesome colour combination -- but designwise this is one is better and the white/orange also looks nice.
But yeah, I agree with you: 100 euro is too much.

Great review as always, can you the with tie fighter next, I imagine you’ll find a similar conclusion in price but I’m interested to see how that build looks, especially the cockpit area
Actually the black & orange x-wing was my first Lego set in years, and it also got me into mods and MOCS because I saw the way the wings ended up and thought, “It’s not like that in the movie!” After a few extra plates and trial and error (aka the first attempt fell apart when the wings snapped together), it does now!

you can fold the 44300 1x3 hinge tile upwards so it sits parallel on top of the 30553 piece, when you retract the landing piece into the nose, the 44300 is completely hidden.
Totally agree about the price. The "A New hope" X-Wing was originally released in the UK for the same price but seemed a lot more bulkier for the money. I doubt if I am going to get this though as I have Poe's other X-Wing and getting Kylo's Shuttle and The New Millennium Falcon is more a priority for me.
Yep this set retails at $159 Australian, which doesn’t even convert well ..90 dollar sets usually convert from 110-139 at the most.
I know i just checked the price in Australia and i was hopeing it would be my first x wing set and i dont think it will be
€110 here in Ireland. That's the equivalent of $123 usd or $177 aud.
I live in Australia, and at the main retailers around me it goes for about $139, which is better than $159 but is still crazy expensive. Doesn’t help that Star Wars is a super expensive theme in general

The last X-Wing was 110€ here in Finland, wouldn’t be surprised if this one was 120€. It’s the reason why I only buy small Star Wars sets if I like the minifigs, and other than that it’s a couple Creator sets a year.

You basically summed up my reaction (except it's 100+ euro for me).
Here in the UK it's £90, which is equivalent to $118. $90 is equivalent to less than £70 and so it's killed any good will to buy this I had
The price will inevitably drop because nobody's buying star wars merchandise these days.

I hope they release in the near future a set of Palpatine's Throne Room like they did with Snoke last year, that could be about the mechanical arm that hangs him around, the sith throne itself, a Knight of Ren or two, a generic ancient Sith Spirit or two, and a bit of terrain, everything finished with Rey with Leia's Saber and Ben Solo with Anakin's Saber.

I have to admit this x-wing makes me get exited
I saw another review that didn't have the black peg piece in the landing gear tract, allowing the landing gear to be fully hidden. Funny enough they said they wished they had that piece so the landing gear would be easier to retrieve
On the earlier x-wing I shortened the axcel out the bottom for the wings so it now is just a manual push button instead. But the price it too hight the y-wing doesn't cost so much.

How come your swing spring loaded missiles don’t shoot out when you close the wings with most people when you close the wings they shoot out

I HAVE that one with the extra pilot called Porkins . It is a great set but I also have the New x wing which is better...but more expensive

I got the Lego x wing 2006 and that one was the best in value cause u got loads of mini figures and was set in hoth and was £50 as well
I like how they decided to put spring loaded shooters only on the bottom. It keeps the clean look on top and on the 2018 X-wing made it look too bulky.
One minor gripe that I can see on this and other vids that have reviewed this set; when locking the S-foils into attack position the lever doesn't fully lock up flush with the fuselage as in the recent original trilogy X-wing. You can see it kind of hanging back at a weird angle @15:08

JSanchez Rubio canal I can’t say I love this color scheme but the black and orange was much a cleaner design.
I wish they could have found a way to eliminate the overlap between the wings entirely. On T-70s the wings should be split down the middle when in attack position and pretty much one wing in landing position.

I have a couple dozen of astromechs and I do not have a single misaligned print on any of their heads. I don’t understand how this is possible
This music reminds of of Perturbator. Anyway, garish as the colors seemed initially, I admit there is a very.... angelic feel to it when combined with this X-Wing's more feathery s-foils. It's beautiful. That price is obscene, though. They don't NEED to charge that much, they just want to. Blegh.
nice set but WAY to expensive, happy to see that it can hold a ball shaped droid. Lego should make a t85. nice review Jang as always, very in depth. why have you canceled comments for most of your other vid's?also, you can make the landing skid more discrete by just putting it on the other way around, not as movie accurate but it works well. i also like the orange shape thing looks neat.
There is no reason for the Knight of Ren to be included in this set other than to get collectors to buy more. It's like the 20th anniversary figures again. I hope that the trend of putting related figures spread out through unrelated sets dies soon

The old Poe’s x-wing in Australian Dollar was $130 which was pushing it. This one which is only 30 pieces more and the same size is $160 Australian. Which is a ridiculous price to ask for it.

..And that's a great price!
I still have a few problems with the basic design.
1. The entire front section is still completely inaccurate, not sloping along with the cockpit.
2. The wings still don’t interlock. Seriously, how hard would it be to have them interlock?
3. The wings don’t intersect internally, this makes the wings feel tacked on and less sturdy.
The Lego.com price in Australia is $159.99.

The stud shooters are probably the lasers in a New Hope. The lasers that destroyed the Death Star
With the extra pieces you can have two of the same weapons for the Knight of Ren
I still don't think it's the best decision to make the lever that controls the opening of the S-Foils on top of the ship. They should have made it at the bottom or modified the mechanism via a twisting gear on the back of the craft like previous models have done. Makes it less obvious, allows you to add gribbling detail to the top like previous models, and integrates the mechanism into the natural design. I get that they wanted to use the same mechanism as last year's model with the idea that landing the craft will automatically snap the wings back into neutral form, but that can also be easily done with a manual knob or gear...

Wow! Being as you don't show Canadian prices (can you please sir?) $120! That's a bit much, considering Tantive IV was $270 Canadian with 1,768 pieces and 6 Mini-figs ! (once which is exclusive).
